    Today in the UK we celebrate Armed Forces day.The brave young men and women who protect our little Island and remember those who lost their lives in conflicts past and present.The Earl of Wessex and Theresa May are attending the main event in Liverpool.The leader of Her Majesty’s opposition prefers to go to the Glastonbury Festival.He has sadly forgotten the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice so he could make that choice.Thinking of all our Armed Forces and saying Thank you.

        It was terrific coverage and I will miss watching too. The neighbors enjoyed the updates and hearing about the Queen’s outfit. Next year a betting pool for sure, for the Color of the Day! Ha.

    Idaho spoils Her Majesty’s party by winning the Hardwicke under Seamie Hefferman.He is a full brother to the tenacious Highland Reel.Aidan,as always,is full of praise for his team at Ballydoyle Idaho does get into a lather before his races though.Aidan travels back and fo to Ascot every day and is usually home by 8.30pmThomas Hobson races again today in the Queen Alexandra.I well remember the Moose taking a stroll around in this race a few years ago!

      I was so hoping that Dartmouth would repeat the win in the Hardwicke for Her Majesty.
      I guess Idaho got even for his brother’s loss last year.

      I was also hoping Thomas Hobson would prevail in the Queen Alexandra. I am so in awe of him for running 2 long races within a couple of days! He didn’t win the 2mile-5 1/2f race today, but he hung in for 2nd. Congrats to all connections!

      Oriental Fox did a superb job in that extra long race which he had won before, and he is a 9 year old! Congratulations to him and his connections, too!

    Soooo happy for Tom Queally as the Tinman wins the Diamond Jubilee with the Tinman! Such a thrilling finish.Named in honour of the legendary jockey Fred Archer.There is a steward’s inquiry though.So good to see Bill Mott at Ascot this year Yay the placings remain unaltered!!Congratulations to all connections.

    Thank you for letting us know that you will be away from the blog & why. We would definitely worry about you if you did not post for awhile. We will miss you but not worry about you. I hope you find a new good internet service quickly. I have Specrtum, which bought out Time Warner Cable. I am not sure if they are in your area, too. I was very happy with my TWC Road Runner & hope that Spectrum continues the great service. So far, my internet seems to be fine, but I am having problems with my TV. I hope those kinks will be resolved soon. Good luck!

    PS Sheena – meant to ad how much I appreciated you reminding us of Sue’s special day.
    We have all been together on Zenny’s site for so many years. I think I first posted in 2010. I’m so grateful for you all and for ‘our Queen’. I can’t even imagine if we didn’t have this special ‘home’ to come to every day. Pray God’s many blessings for Zenny and her new filly, her Coz and Ziconic, the Moss’s and the Shirref’s and for everyone who shares in her life here on her internet home. I have grown to love and appreciate you all so much.

    Dear Z friends,
    Very unhappy to report that I didn’t get anywhere NEAR Mike Smith (probably not as unhappy as HE was about losing by a whisker to Irap!!). Thistledown leaves a lot to be desired, and one of those things is the sound system. Just as we were arriving in the restaurant for the buffet, we vaguely heard an announcement about Mike and Julien L signing autographs by some lemonade stand. We did not understand that it meant RIGHT THEN as this was hours ahead of the Derby itself. By the time we decided to find the lemonade stand and get more info, they had come and gone :-( And I had on my SONGBIRD shirt!!!
    There isn’t a regular walking ring, but I did get some pictures through a window overlooking the saddling area as the on-track announcer interviewed both Mike and Julien at various points during the afternoon. Thank goodness we had the track feed on the little TV at our table so we could see when it was happening. Certainly an exciting ending to the race and not what we were expecting. At least it didn’t rain.

      Ohhh, too bad! So sorry that you didn’t get Mike’s and Julien’s autographs or get to see them up close. Mike would have liked seeing you in the Songbird shirt! Glad it was an exciting race and that you got some photos. ?
