Dear Friends,
Wow! I am so deeply, deeply touched with all of your kind comments in relation to my racing retirement. You are so kind! I can’t THANK YOU enough!
I have loved racing and being at the barn. It has been a very special 4 1/2 years now that I have been with John, Mario, Steve, Carmen and the crew at the Shirreffs’ barn every single day. As all of you know…this along with Ann and Jerry Moss…is my family.
The beauty of my going back to Kentucky and Lane’s End…is DAVID lives in Lexington. I’ve also known him since I was a yearling at the September Sale. From that moment when he signed the ticket to purchase me on behalf of the Moss’, I’ve had a blessed life. David is part of Team Zenyatta and is also family. I will be leaving John’s barn…but going to Lane’s End where I will also have family around me. Lane’s End is a beautiful farm where I will be able to graze, stand under gorgeous trees, and enjoy life every single day! And one day, I hope to be a loving and wonderful MOM! What more could one ask!
My dear friend, Life is Sweet is also at Lane’s End! I have not seen her since February. We have so much to catch up on when I get there. This is too much fun!
David’s assistant, Sarah, will be able to take lots of pictures of me to send to CA and to put on the web-site. We will try to keep you posted on everything.
Yeah, here’s some good news! I will be able to visit with fans on Sunday, December 5th, at Hollywood Park. The track is doing a ‘fun farewell get-together’ for me! I am so excited. When I find out other details about this, I will update you. Hope you can attend!
Again…thank you all so much for the loving, tender notes. I am such a fortunate horse to have so many people who truly care so much about me.
Hugs to you all~
With Love,
Z

The Bluegreass of home has never welcomed a more wonderful “life” dancer…”thriller”..”lady”….I cannot express how much I will miss seeing you run and dance big girl….the memories will never die and I will pass them on…we are coming to see you..have a safe safe trip…dance on.

Best Wishes Zenyatta! You have brought such joy to so many lives!! I am hoping and praying that at Lane’s End they let you keep your babies till they are weaned and not turn them over to brood mares to raise so they can breed you more often and make you a breeding machine like many farms do to their race mares. Please Mr. & Mrs. Moss don’t let that happen. This also means the brood mares lose their babies. Please don’t let this happen to the Queen – she deserves better.
Rita Stack
Zenyatta you are the greatest ever.I followed you from the beginning. You brought so much joy with your unique personality, your dance and your style on the track. You touched my heart and my soul. I hope you will continue this blog and keep your loving fans up to date on your life. I will be there on the 5th and hope to also visit you in Ky if permitted to do so. Lots of hugs and kisses, you will be a great mom. Thanks for the joy you brought to so many.

You have given me many, many thrills Lady Z!! Enjoy your green pastures and retirement, you have certainly earned it. Be very picky when choosing your first beau. Don’t go out with the first one to ask you!! Wait for the perfect strpping stallion to come along. After all, perfection deserves perfection!! Love and Kisses to you!!
Deb
Are there any plans in the works if some of us fans would love to come to Lane’s End for a visit? I don’t want to see you retire but I don’t want you to get hurt either. You seemed to enjoy racing & were very very very good at it. Your way in the back to way in the front racing strategy made for very excitable racing!! Thank you to whom ever for keeping us all posted on her majesty & please remember us when she has a foal with PLENTY of pics!!
Kathleen
I, too, grew up in the beautiful rolling hills of the Bluegrass state and I am thrilled that you will be retuning. I hope to see you there again one day. But Z, isn’t Mike part of your family too? I am sure he will miss you. I have seen him hug your glorious neck.

Reading your diary entries takes me back to reading one of my all time favorite books – Black Beauty. You are certainly a beauty, Zenyatta, but fortunately, unlike Black Beauty, you have always been surrounded by love. May the love continue all the days of your life! I hope to see you one day soon in Kentucky.

Zen-So happy to hear that you will get re-aquainted with old friends & family. You probably did not realize 4 1/2 years ago how big your family would become. Becoming a mother is one of life’s most cherished blessings. You have shown all of us that it is time for your own life’s compass to bring you back east to your roots to breed your own legacy. My daughter Ella, leaves posts for you as well, and cannot wait to see pictures of your first, so make sure that David & Sarah keep the website updated as much as they can. Many of us, are in anticipation of news of when we can come visit you at Lane’s End. I am sure you would love visitors & I am sure the Farrish’s are just trying to figure out how to handle all of us…what a challenge! Oh! make sure John & the crew send a nice warm blanket for the ride back east…it is getting a little cold here now. Love you so much.

I love you SOO much Z! I hope you like your new home. :) How’s Mike doing? Have you seen him since the race?
Jan Mitchell
I AGREE WITH GAIL ULMER’S COMMENT. I pray that this doesn’t happen to Zenyatta and her future offspring.
I am glad and relieved to read that DAVID will be close by.
Will the final day be televised or available to watch — the entire time — somehow? We need to see her! Our Lady Zenyatta. She touches our hearts in a way that no human can and we give her our unconditional love in return. Zenyatta is a major super star as you can clearly see by the fan devotion and adoration. It’s really quite amazing and I’m so glad to be a part of it. Thank you Team Zenyatta for Zenyatta. I know that all of you must be so sad to have to let her go to Kentucky, but you made the right decision for her! Thanks for that. God bless you.

I live in Vancouver, BC but I will fly to LA for the weekend of December 5th, so I can see you before you leave for Kentucky. I watched you win the 2009 BC Classic, and I will never forget the Super Horse that I saw.
Lots of love and hugs!
