Wow, this is ONE of my FAVORITE BLOOD-HORSE MAGAZINE COVERS!
Good Morning Everyone!
The most interesting thing has happened. Dottie’s sister, Patti, sent her a FACEBOOK page which showed ME on the cover of 16 BLOOD-HORSE MAGAZINES.
I gather from this they actually did 3 different covers for the 2010 HORSE OF THE YEAR issue…and ultimately selected the one they used. It is a great photo (if I say so myself) of ME! Too cute! On that cover, I am looking to the right and my coat is GLOWING! I think ALL of ME is actually GLOWING as it is such a fabulous and proud achievement to be awarded such an honor.
I thought it would be fun to share these covers with you. As MY TEAM had not seen this presentation of them yet, it was a great walk down MEMORY LANE for all of us! My first cover was May 30, 2009. This is the issue created after I’d won The Milady Handicap at Hollywood Park…marking my TENTH WIN IN A ROW…and my 10-0 record!
Here is the link for the 16 covers. You will see the 14 they used and then the 2 alternates they debated upon for the HORSE OF THE YEAR issue. When you double-click on the cover, the entire photo pops up along with a description at the bottom telling you when the magazine was issued and what race the cover is celebrating!
Enjoy! This was sure FUN for MY TEAM and I hope it is for you also! It really looks amazing to see all of the covers placed on one page.
I hope I am not being too bold in saying…I think I’m rather photogenic! Blush, Blush!
Have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

Zenyatta, you are always photogenic – you never take a bad picture! I hope you had fun with your mom when she visited from CA and got lots of kisses and hugs. Thanks for sharing the magazine covers, pretty girl.

Hi, Zen,
Your secretary, Dottie, is also just “too, too cute!” Just love her sense of humor, and yours, too, of course! I have loaded my blog up with so many photos of you, and I have three computers, and all three boast wonderful shots of my favorite horse as the “background” photo. Yes, you are very photogenic!
BTW, there is a very good horse who is at the top of the KY Derby contenders (even above Uncle Mo on some lists). His name is Dialed In, and I swear, his running style sure does remind me of you, and he even wears a white shadow roll! He’s only run 2 races, and he has an allowance this Sunday so he can qualify for the Florida Derby on April 3. If he runs again like he has in the first two, then that’s his running style! In the Holy Bull, he had to make up 15 lengths to win! He must have watched some of your races and decided he liked the way you ran!
Hugs. Your friend, Ann Maree

Photogenic is certainly a word to describe you Miss Z. Beautiful, awesome, talented, creative, Dancing Queen, are just a few words that come to my mind when I think of you. Waiting with baited breath to hear the magic words “in foal”. Lots of love sent your way, sweet Z.

LOL! You beauty queen you! Yes you are photogenic–and don’t you ever forget it! Hope all is well in Kentucky! When are you having your ulstra sound to confirm your little one? Also Zenny, can you tell us your tattoo number? Or is it to be protected like our social security numbers?
Gloria
Hi cover girl Zenny! Yep! Every time you won a race, I had to call my local newsstand up and alert them that I wanted their copies of Blood Horse…even though I subscribed to the magazine! :-) I’ve been going to this newsstand for years and in the past couple of years they know me by name from calling and asking them to hold the copies for Gloria! You made the cover of Thoroughbred Times quite often too (not to mention the Daily Racing Form)! I have a nice stash of Zenyatta goodies and I love my Zenyatta collection. I hope you are doing great at the farm. Gonna watch your stablemate Zazu run tomorrow. Go, Z! XOXO!

Zennyatta, you are beautiful from ANY angle!! My daughter and I can’t seem to get enough of you… I’m so grateful Dottie shared with all of us. We saw a young foal on the way home last night and I couldn’t help thinking about you and Rachel… and how excited we all are to see the beautiful babies that are forthcoming! No one will ever hold a candle to you…. :)

Zen, I meant to tell you ~ I was interviewed by Zoey Cadman for HRTV on February 5h. I had a poster with me with photos of you, Team Zenyatta, and me…
I was asked why I’m such a fan. I told them this: John Henry was the love of my life. He passed away on my birthday, October 8th in 2007. Thankfully, I was at the Kentucky Horse Park and able to kiss him farewell before he crossed Rainbow Bridge. I told Zoey I thought I’d never find another horse who would capture my heart ~ I was wrong! John Henry sent me YOU!
This is why I call you his “adopted sister”! Now both of you live in my heart forever and ever… He watches over you every single day.XO

Dear Zenyatta,
Just go ahead and be as ‘bold’ as you want to be! You certainly did not win all those races and earn all those covers by shrinking into the background. (Maybe the camera would have found you there anyway.) It loves you and so do all of us. Thanks for the joy and inspiration you bring and thanks to your families for being so considerate and cognizant of your fans.
Love and hugs, SuzanneG

Dear Z…I have this photo on my desk in my office and I always start the day by saying “Good Morning. Zenny” – it warms my heart to be able to look at you all day long!!! You are one gorgeous girl…and those kind eyes – they are amazing! Thanks. Dottie.
Susan from VA
Yep, they made the correct choice for the horse of the year cover.

Dear Z, You are so amazing and beautiful.
Loved to review the covers. I subscribe to The Blood Horse so I got all of the covers out to study them once again.
Just wanted to say again how grateful I am for all that Dottie does for you, for us and for all of racing. I still think she would be outstanding at resurrecting racing across the country.
Thank you Dottie!

Hi Zenny, that is my favorite cover too! I bought two issues of the Zenyatta Commemorative Collector’s Issue (one to read and one to keep safe). You are very photogenic sweet girl. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
