Zenyatta Commemorative Collector’s Issue – Racing’s Queen!

Wow, this is ONE of my FAVORITE BLOOD-HORSE MAGAZINE COVERS!

Good Morning Everyone!

The most interesting thing has happened. Dottie’s sister, Patti, sent her a FACEBOOK page which showed ME on the cover of 16 BLOOD-HORSE MAGAZINES.

I gather from this they actually did 3 different covers for the 2010 HORSE OF THE YEAR issue…and ultimately selected the one they used. It is a great photo (if I say so myself) of ME! Too cute! On that cover, I am looking to the right and my coat is GLOWING! I think ALL of ME is actually GLOWING as it is such a fabulous and proud achievement to be awarded such an honor.

I thought it would be fun to share these covers with you. As MY TEAM had not seen this presentation of them yet, it was a great walk down MEMORY LANE for all of us! My first cover was May 30, 2009. This is the issue created after I’d won The Milady Handicap at Hollywood Park…marking my TENTH WIN IN A ROW…and my 10-0 record!

Here is the link for the 16 covers. You will see the 14 they used and then the 2 alternates they debated upon for the HORSE OF THE YEAR issue. When you double-click on the cover, the entire photo pops up along with a description at the bottom telling you when the magazine was issued and what race the cover is celebrating!

Enjoy! This was sure FUN for MY TEAM and I hope it is for you also! It really looks amazing to see all of the covers placed on one page.

I hope I am not being too bold in saying…I think I’m rather photogenic! Blush, Blush!

    In a previous post Z said that the other mares she
    Paddocks with have other owners and she/Dottie
    Only has permission to use their names. Information about them
    Is confidential or can be discussed with their owners.

    Royalty shines through the eyes. You are the Queen of so many things – including magazine covers. What will they do without you?     and it goes like this:

    How do ya like them dapples, Zetty, a great idea, she said, and she’s one of your biggest fans. Maybe this wasn’t such a crazy idea after all, for now I’m keepin’ mum about the ‘Pink Cadillac cruiser’.
    Imagine the entire float in the shape of a pink 60’s Cadillac convertible, and you or your sister Eblouissante, a stand in for you in case you’re in the maternity ward, oh my, what an exciting time next January will be. It would be gorgeous, the float made entirely out of pink geraniums/ or dare I dream of pink roses, just sweet. What a Valentine that would be for you, the new Mom, from your fans, a helluva foal party :) :) :)

    Hi Zenny. I loved the BH cover retrospective and had wondered about the “other” HOTY covers because I saw the other profile shot somewhere recently & wondered if I’d bought the wrong issue!!!!!
    I am proud to say that I have every BH edition that carried news about you, right back to the beginning. And so does a friend of mine in England: her husband has MS but he adores you, Zen. So I made certain to send every BH issue featuring you to Yorkshire for David & Angela. They say that they’re running a “Zenny library” because so many thoroughbred fans who are their friends are borrowing back issues to read all about you! It’s wonderful for David because it brings many visitors over to the house and perks up his day.
    So you’re not only a North American cover girl — you’re a British one as well!!!
    Also, inspired by Team Z and you, big girl, I have decided to see if all of my readers @ THE VAULT can “click” on one or more ads to raise money for horse rescues in the USA & Canada.     I pray that Smarty will not succumb to some disease like War Pass did after returning from South America. He is adorable. Love those red “bangs”.

    The report hasn’t been released regarding War Pass that I’ve heard of.
    Stallions have been shuttling for 20+ years now and most make it back and forth safe and sound. No one knows for certain the shuttling had anything to do with War Pass’s death.

    Zenyatta, You are the best equine Cover Girl. Pictures of your beautiful being adds grace to the page. My favorite cover image is the BH Zenyatta Commemorative issue. I have it and look at you almost every day.

    WOW I love the latest photo of you on BLOOD HORSE mag , you sexy EQUINE you ..that photo is one of my favorites of you but you just take a great photo all the time and it can be hard to good a good photo of a horse but not you , it comes easy to you …LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU

    Dearest Sweet “Z”,

    I was given this Commemorative Edition with you on the cover for Christmas from my father along with a tapestry blanket with your image. I am looking at both in my Den which is ‘Equestrian.’ Looking forward to receiving your Racing Royalty poster soon to add to my favorite room!     I’m so happy to read this post and the 100th one with the video of your last exercise taken by John. You, Dottie and John have done a wonderful job keeping all of us in the loop about your new life. Thank you!

    I have all of the Blood-Horse issues with you on the cover, as well as the commemorative issue and photo. I will cherish and preserve them forever.

    Hey, Cover Girl, what Christie Brinkley and Cheryl Tiegs were to the fashion industry, you are to horse racing. But not only are you photogenic, you were so, so talented. We really miss you and can’t get ENOUGH photos.

    Zenyatta, If my job were to select a cover for your commemorative issue or any magazine about you, I would have a really difficult time to say the least. I would love them all. I would not have a favorite. I would love to have any and all magazines about you.

    It’s a beautiful cover little girl!!! When I got this issue, I received the cover photo as an extra and it’s now in my bedroom with photos of my other loved one. TOO CUTE!!!!!!
