Good Morning!
YIPPEE! Firstly, HAPPY MARCH 1st! A new month! I can’t believe how fast the time is going!
Also, a HIGH HOOF to John! He did look through his photos and found these for you! In them, I am at about the same stage of my Training Center Lessons at Mayberry Farm as Eblouissante is in her current photos. So you can see how many similarities we have in body, size, and EARS! Too cute!
ENJOY!
It was great to hear that I was able to help raise funds for the YMCA. $12,600…..this really makes me feel GREAT! This Y program operates on the goal of…not turning a child away. I am so grateful I could help. Dottie also let me know that my one shoe recently brought in $2000 for Ronald McDonald House. My Moneigh is currently being auctioned for ReRun to help horses in need! This is all so fabulous!
The other day, Dottie was explaining to me that I am a real MULTI-TASKER. She said this is a term used for one who can accomplish many things at one time…balance family, career, and outside responsibilities and goals…like fund-raising! She told me it is really something HUMANS do so often and well these days with all of their busy schedules and responsibilities! It requires a great deal of organization…for sure.
At this time, I’d like to say WOW to all of you MULTI-TASKERS out there! You should be proud of all that you do each day! I’m new at this…and trying my best! One thing for sure…it makes ME feel really terrific when I can complete a wide range of tasks and HELP OTHERS along the way!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~
Z
PS…..In the spirit of giving, we are doing a special thing for the Zenyatta Lounge this Saturday, March 5th. If any of you are starting ‘spring cleaning early’….and see a few things in your closet that you would like to ‘recycle and feel would be enjoyed by someone else’….please bring them to SANTA ANITA’S OPERATION OFFICE this Saturday. I know they would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Just trying to help….Z

Ms Zenyatta, Happy March to you to, thank you. You and your sister are just too cute at 2. Do not tell her, but you are a little big prettier. I like the way she is snuggling there with Don Robinson…reminds me of you. She must be loving and affectionate like you. She 2 is a Big Girl, like you and your Mom. I love you and please thank John for all the trouble he went thru to find the pics of when you were 2, or does he have it all organized? I know you are not just Mike’s girl….Love ya…Lisa g.

You are so right about the family “EARS” they are very cute and very large, especially when you were smaller!! I love the way “E” is clipped, it looks two-toned, very stylish!! Love You stay well!!

Two gorgeous sisters! Thanks so much for the pictures and thank you Dottie for your tireless work on Zenyatta’s behalf on her website. There aren’t too many people as busy as you are who would take the time to do this for the fans. You should get your own Eclipse award Dottie!Team Zenyatta has been nothing but spectacular in every aspect with regards to this wonderful horse, her care, her career, and your committment to sharing her with us fans. God bless you and I am looking forward to reading more about Eblouissante. She does resemble Zenyatta and I was wondering, as another poster did, does she dance too? Wouldn’t that be something!
Jan
Also, I think you look like Roberto, and E looks like her daddy Bernardini. You sure have a big bum. :)
Me
there are similarities but Z is much thicker built and sturdier looking. Not to say ‘E’ won’t be an amazing horse, there’s just definitely differences. :) Both are gorgeous mares though that is for sure!

Dear Zenyatta, your diary post today warmed my heart. You already are a superb multi-tasker, as listed in some of the comments above, and now are taking on the ultimate task of being a mother – the hardest, most important job of all. Speaking of mothers, my 96 yo mom was taken to the hospital yesterday by ambulance for weakness, dehydration, bronchitis, etc. I spent many hours in the emergency room and thinking about YOU really helped keep me calm and focused. She is already better, thanks to IV antibiotics and fluids, but not yet out of the woods. And it was painful to see my dad, who has advanced dementia, so scared and inconsolable at the thought of losing my mom. Yet, when I think of all YOU do, and what others on this list (Dawn Conrad, Catherine Uher, and others whose names I don’t remember) are struggling with and yet keep on going and helping others, it helps me immeasurably. Thanks to all of you who post here and stay so positive. And yes, your sister and mother are absolutely gorgeous, though you actually take my breath away with your beauty both inside and out. Take care, everyone.
Pam
Wow, your little sister is so good-looking with that fashion-forward clip she is wearing! I’m sure your mom is proud of all her kids. Kudos to you on your fund-raising activities! Raising money, preparing for motherhood, keeping your fans up-to-date and relaxing in the field with your friends … sounds like a very well-balanced life. Take care, Z, and as always, love and best wishes to you and your circle of equine and human friends.

Zenny, thanks for sharing your photo at 2 years old and also of your sister E (hard to spell the whole name). It was nice to learn that you are still doing a lot of charity work to benefit both humans and animals. You are beautiful inside and out. Hugs and Kisses to you Zen.

Those are beautiful pictures of you at 2 years old as well as of your sister, Zenyatta. You and your sister are both beautiful horses. It’s amazing that the same man who raised you is currently raising your sister at the same farm. You were in good hands under him as is your sister today. I am sure that she will be a successful racehorse. You seem excellent at multitasking. Good luck on your raising money for the YMCA and the Ronald McDonald House. I’m sure that any charity would love to have you raise money for them. They would raise money through the roof. I certainly agree with you that time is going by really fast. Given that, your foal will be born before you know it. I hope that the Zenyatta lounge picks up tons of stuff that people no longer use. It is a very valuable place and getting more that way every day.

Hi Zenny! I’m lovin your “baby” pics! You are soooo cute! Thank you for the lesson on how to understand the language of expressing the sire and dam of a horse! For example “out of _____ by _____” You would be surprised how many fans really don’t understand these terms and the more we learn, the more we feel like a part of the game!
Also, I agree with Susan (above) who requested prints of you and your “homegirls” relaxing in the pasture! I would also love to buy one for my barn. My horses got upset with me because they said all they see is Zenyatta pics and paraphernalia in THEIR barn! LOL
I love you Zenny. Keep the educational racing tidbits coming!
Stephanie
Zenny, you are so cute as a baby :) I am SO PROUD that your Mommy Dottie and You are raising money for people who need it and for the workers at the track, a lot of people don’t know how hard a job it is working on the “backside” and how much dedication it takes and how little money it pays, about the long hours and large families that money supports…I am just HONORED to know you and your Family…Hugs and Kisses from Maine x0x0x0x0
P.S
Ask Daddy John to put some videos of your sisters and brothers on YouTube…we miss them :)

@ Margaret (near the top),

Hmm, must have me confused with another poster. I never questioned the pronunciation of VERTIGINEUX’s name….? I actually took some French in school, way back when ;-)

Hello, “Z”
How high is your sister? (hands?) I sure hope they are watching your thyroid function, Zenyatta. We want you to live for a long, long time. You are simply THE BEST.

@Karen Mitchell. My heart goes with you in a very trying time. The fact that you can find inspiration to keep on going tells me that you are, indeed, an awesome person. My prayers and thoughts are with you and please keep us posted on how everything is going.
Johnny
Every time i come into this page I go back and watch the 2009 and 2010 Breeders Cup Classic, always hoping that Zenyatta gets there on time and beat Blame…. Sorry, can’t help it. :(

I ENJOYED THE PICS ALOT. YOU KNOW WHITE ON A HORSES FACE OR LEGS MAKES THEM STAND OUT. WE CALL THIS CHROME. YOU AND SISTER ARE SO PRETTY. THANK YOU JOHN FOR THE PIC OF ZENNIE. I THOUGHT I HAVE ALOT OF OUR HORSES PICS, BUT JOHN, YOU ARE AMAZING. LOVE TO ALL…SHERRY D

Here’s a link to hear the pronunciation of “Vertigineux.” Ahh, yes, looks just like it sounds! It’s the announcer describing “Hip #703” at the 2005 September Yearling Sale @ Keeneland–a day that changed so many lives for the good. So glad your son David was there that day, Dottie! And Z! You were just a “tyke”! And a beauty! You will always be…inside & out.

Thanks so much for all these blogs and the pictures! It is very nice of you, Z, and your connections to do this. I tried to win the “date” with you in the auction but it got too expensive. But it’s great you raised so much money for the Y!
Sheila
Where can I find some stats for E? I would love to keep track of her achievments. She needs her own website :-)
Kathy B.
Thank you so much for the pictures! I just dropped off one of my Zenyatta prints at the framing shop….I get to look at pictures of her everyday on my walls at home!

Such a BEAUTY you are ~ heart & soul <3 WOW…you are simply just something else, Z! I must say, each & every day you make MY day. You have captured my heart as I am sure you have many ~ I adore you for so many reasons, not to mention what a fabulous team you have behind you. Your pictures as a young girl make me smile…love these! Thank you for sharing! Loved the picture of your Mom a few days ago and this picture of "E" today is awesome ~ so so wonderful! All just fabulous. I hope that Kentucky has seen some blue skies & sunshine today for you & your girlfriends to romp & play in ~ Enjoy :o)

It’s interesting that Eblouissante has only a partial shave and not a full shave … she’s a beauty … just like her big sister! My hubby and I are really looking forward to seeing her run! Hope all is good with you & that you’re enjoying the early days of pregnancy … I never felt better in my life as I did when I was pregnant with my first child! Hope your pregnancy / delivery are as smooth as both mine were! Take care, gf!

Zenyi and Eblou, two very beautiful daughters of Vertigineux. You are a great role model for E. I hope that she follows in your hoof steps on the track. We all love to hear of your new adventures and your still busy schedule. Most of all, stay healthy, Queen Z.

@Ensign
No I was just making conversation…I did that so you’d see it!

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, What a wonderful post! Your sis, Eblouissante, is very striking looking as you were at 2. Being from the south, I could call her Ebby Lou! What a lucky guy, Don Robinson is to get to work with both of you at 2. I hope & pray that Ebby Lou inherited the speed you have. What a miracle that would be to see the her obtain the heights that you have! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that John will train her!!! Vertigneaux produced 2 beautiful sister fillies and I wonder if she knows how you both are doing? I always have wondered if animals could sense their offspring were doing great especially if they saw them. That would be so cool if you, your Mom & sis could meet one day and see the response of the 3 of you looking at each other. @Karen Mitchell, I’ll pray for you and I understand about reading about Zenyatta and her helping you get through the day. Zenyatta has such an amazing ability to help all of us that want her help. People admire Zenyatta for many different reasons, being a TB, racing career, her Team Z, her beauty, grace & elegance, her giving & loving nature, her power & essence. In addition to the ones mentioned, I admire & love Zenyatta for the ability to help people by extending a hand on bended knee to someone in need is the greatest exercise for the heart. I love Zenyatta so much for what she has given to me and has helped me to reach out to others in need each day only if it’s to listen. I have been rewarded 10x. Zenyatta’s ears remind me that she has put them to wonderful use in her career and now helping others. Dottie, Thanks so much for this wondeful post about Ebby Lou & Zenyatta at 2 and about the charities that Zenyatta helps to raise money for. I know the lounge will get some great needed items this weekend.
Sending Hugs & Kisses With Love from Alabama, Amanda G.
