Good Morning Everyone!
Today is Sunday…a great day that is part of the weekend! I am just beginning to learn what the term ‘weekend’ means to many people. I usually had my biggest races on Saturday or Sunday….so as an athlete…these were BIG WORK DAYS for ME! Now I am learning that for many people…they are DAYS TO RELAX and ENJOY FAMILY and FRIENDS.
One concept I’ve heard of is BRUNCH. I’ve been out playing for a bit this morning…..and had a great idea. I thought…WHY DON’T WE ALL HAVE BRUNCH TOGETHER. So, as I’m back in my stall for a bit…munching away on my PEARS (a great snack that I am very, very fond of these days)…I thought this would be fun! Watch me!
So…PLEASE JOIN ME FOR SUNDAY BRUNCH! Click Here
I hope you enjoy the videos.
Happy Sunday!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

ENSIGN
Agreed with LauraJ.

Lane’s End farm will have 1000+ mares coming and going from their farm from now until June. In amongst the mares, horse trailers, farm managers, vets, clients, etc. every single day they’re also running the farm, their own and client mares (like Zenyatta) and foaling out dozens of their own mares, sending mares off to other breeding sheds. They have weanlings and yearlings to tend to, horses on layup, etc. There is a reason the farm is closed to visitors during breeding season : )
L
Agreed with both LauraJ and ENSIGN just in hopes to help spread the word.
Please, PLEASE be respectful of LEF’s policy and situation. Zenyatta is not the only horse on their farm by a long shot and the Moss’s are not the only owners they are answerable too.
I’m sure they will look at and investigate every possible avenue in the logistics of giving Zenyatta’s fans access to her but her fans need to understand that it is going to take time.

they supposed to to cut the pears into four pieces to avoid dropping on the floor.Also how many times they give her a bath a week because I sew some white spot at the right side of her face.thanks for sharing for everyrthing with our beloved zenyatta.
L
@Connie Carter,
What white spot are you seeing? In the photo she has mud on her face and in the video all I see is the reflection of the light in her stall alone her cheekbone.
Sue Noel
What lovely photo and videos–we are all so blessed to have these daily postings and photos to keep us close to Zenyatta. It truly is remarkable! It was almost as though we could reach out and kiss her sweet nose. Thanks to all who work so hard to care for her and too share so much with all of us who love her. Kiss and hugs,Zenny girl;!!

Hey Z want to shot out to your owners Jerry and Ann, as well as John and Mike for there win on Makoma yesterday. Was like watching you come from off the pace and mow them down in the strech, was a good race.
Lauren
Dear Zenny – I love your picture and you do have really cute ears. Hope the weather in Kentucky isn’t too bad. Spring is right around the corner. Hugs and kisses beautiful girl.

@Connie Carter
You are sooo sweet. The white(dried mud) on the left
side of her face is dried mud with a reflection from the camera.
I think the red on her nose is just the way
the light came through on the photgraph.
Don’t think it is anything concerning.
She is having a bunch of fun !!!! Yipee!!!

@Connie Carter
Horses prefer to eat fruit/snacks in certain ways. From what I remember Z likes
her pears whole. They may not eat them if you don’t present them in a way they like.
Remember with her carrots, she eats the thin end first and the whole carrot; not in pieces. They drop them on the floor of their stall and just bend down and eat them
off the floor of the stall if a human is not there to pick them up and give them back.

I just love this site. The people -I think some of you I could become fast friends with -neophytes and experts alike. It such a nice combination of voices on here. I hope it continues. I must admit, that I’ve never posted on a blog, ever. But there is something about this community of people—they feel the pull of this beautiful horse like me. My teenage kids are perplexed by this. Every time they use my laptop and see the Z site, they give me that look….have you lost your mind? I find it difficult to express in words, particularly since we are not horse people. We’re a typical metropolitan family, kids are in sports, I play tennis, take walks with the girls and active in our community. The only way that I can describe it, is like this (hubby thinks it’s funny). Have you ever watched the movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind? When Richard Dreyfuss is building his mound of mashed potatoes in his house, he doesn’t know why, but feels this pull towards something he can’t put his finger on? Well, that is what it’s like with Z, can’t express to you WHY there is this pull. All I can tell you is that I LOVE watching the videos/pictures of her. It’s comforting to know others have experienced something similar. Of course, my analogy has not helped the sanity plea with my kids. I often wonder if Z would have been lost to us, had the Mosses not opened their hearts. Yes, she still would have been that regal, elegant, and amazing racehorse, but would her essence been overlooked. I’m thankful the Mosses didn’t miss the forest for the trees, but I wonder how many more we’ve missed. What I’m certain based on other posters, is that there is a shift taking place, slow, but movement nonetheless. When I hear others are now creating Facebook pages for their horses, it puts a smile on my face. I hope the ripple effect continues. In the meantime, I will spread the word, educate myself and try to pull my family into the Z circle. I think I have my son… he watched several of Z’s races with me, mouth agape as witnesses for the first time Z’s incredible come from wins-he laughed out loud in awe. I’m crossing my fingers…

Zenny, here’s mud in your eye…
Please thank Sarah for the darling videos and the great headshot! Those helicpoter ears in the videos say so much about how relaxed you are, even while you never take your eye off the camera. And the gleam in your eye in the headshot tells us you are favoring this special photographer with your finest star quality.

Z, You have such noisy neighbors!
Glad you were still able to enjoy your pears :)
THANKS for the videos!
Lynn ....from California
Totally awesome, keeping up with you for Brunch. Thanks! Fun video!
It great to be ‘just a horse’ @ Hotel L.E. I love that for you.

Unfortunately, as of this writing, I am at a library whose computers won’t let me on to Youtube so I cannot see the videos. I will watch them as soon as I get to another library whose computers will let me on. I’m glad you’re learning how most people view weekends and that you are able to compare that to your racing days which were mostly if not entirely weekend days. I’m also glad that you are learning about brunch and that you have discovered pears. They are good for you. You seem to be a fast learner. You are good at both athletics and academics. If you were a human being and you played for a team while enrolled in college, you would be an academic superstar as well as a stellar athlete, giving real meaning to the term “student athlete”. You would be more that worthy of a large scholarship every year and you would graduate either at the top of your class or near the top of your class. You would find a great job in no time despite the bad economy. Keep up the good work!
Deneen
Loved your picture that Sarah took and really enjoyed the videos!!!! I think your neighbor wanted to try a pear, too . . . VERY CUTE!! Be safe, healthy and happy beautiful girl!!!!!!!

Lizzy – my kids are all grown and they now *know* that I am crazy – and especially crazy about Zenyatta! My 2 year old grandson looked at my computer the other day and asked to see “yaya” and I knew he was wanting me to find the Zenyatta videos to show him again. You’ve got to get them hooked early – LOL! His big sister loves Zenny, too, so it is possible to make it a family affair. Best wishes to you!
connie carter

@Lizzy–This is also the only blog I have ever posted on, and I too feel what you have expressed so well: this is a marvelous community of people who experience the special pull of beautiful Zenyatta. It’s wonderful! And MANY MANY THANKS to Dottie for making it all possible.
@Dawn–Your lyrical prose is a special delight.

Z…you make those juicy pears look delicious! When I feed pears or apples to my horses they smell so good I have to run back to the house to get one for myself. You look like you are enjoying retirement Z! Loved the brunch with you.
