Good Morning Everyone!
Happy Saturday! I wanted to share this photo of SOPHIE…along with her message to ME…with YOU. Needless to say, she is keeping up on all of my ‘activities and experiences’ while I’m at Lane’s End. Here, Sophie is nibbling on one of her favorite chew goodies…but she did want to remind me to EAT PROPERLY, WATCH MY DIET and TO MONITOR ALL OF MY SNACKS at this time.
Needless to say, this is all very exciting! I so appreciate all of your sweet messages. MARIO is an absolute doll! (So glad you noticed!) Please remember, that I do TANGO with my BARN 55 friends and MY TEAM all of the time. We do this often and really do keep in touch. It is so kind of you to want to start a fund for Mario to come and visit me. FYI, he will be able to come for visits with others from my CA FAMILY. MY TEAM will always offer him the opportunity to stay in touch with ME! THANK YOU, though, for all of your thoughtfulness and the kindness of this gesture. It is greatly appreciated by all of MY TEAM! I also wanted you to know how deeply touched Mario is by this act of kindness you have shown him!
Many of you have asked…what will happen next with me? The web-page on Fetus Development…that you are referring to in the ‘RESPONSES’…can be very educational. So, if you chose to review the material presented, it can be a very helpful reference to learn about the stages I will be experiencing during the next 11 months. This may be found HERE. Dottie was explaining to me…just like women have books to refer to when they are having babies….this can be a great reference for ME! There are always so many NEW things to learn in life! I am having a wonderful time exploring them!
On several occasions, Dottie has mentioned to ME how special it is to read so many of your wonderful, uplifting ‘RESPONSES’ in the DIARY. Often in life, we face various challenges. In one way or another, we ALL have them. They come in different forms, situations, and at different times of our lives. That is why it is so meaningful to see so many of you really trying to offer support, kindness and a WONDERFUL LOVING SPIRIT…not just to ME and MY TEAM…BUT TO EACH OTHER. It means a GREAT DEAL TO ME!
I know this type of support, devotion, and love is what encouraged me to become the HORSE I AM. I could not have done it all without the GENEROSITY OF SPIRIT that MY TEAM and MY FANS extended to ME! Thus, to see an extension of this continue with ALL of YOU via your ‘RESPONSES’ in the DIARY…REALLY MAKES ME FEEL SO PROUD!
With Love,
Hugs to All…Especially, at this time, to my dear friend, “BUD”~

Z, I can’t believe the time has come for your BIG experience! Believe me, we’ll all keep a close monitor on your progress! After looking at the pic of your mom, you do resemble her but the marking on your forehead is a bit longer than her’s. Too cute! Take it easy, big girl! Being around your friends always helps when going thru new, different changes! We luv you, Zenyatta!

Zenny/Dottie – thanks for acknowledging the love and connections that have developed amongst your fans. I think it says a lot for you and Team Z that so many good-hearted people would gather together in the same place. As @Karen Mitchell said so eloquently, we all were united together in our love for you, but now it has spread to each other as well. @Karen Mitchell, I know about grief, too, and there is definitely something magical about Zenyatta and her team that helps to heal wounds, isn’t there?
Michelle
Thanks for the link to the website. It was very educational. Dottie, you think of everything. We so appreciate you taking the time to update us.
When can we visit Zenyatta? I know you have to protect her health now for a safe pregnancy but is there a time when it would be safe for visitors? I want to visit but would never do anything to endanger Zenyatta or her foal.

Lady-in-Waiting Z, you are so special & the fact that this forum has become what it has is a tribute to you and the people around you. We’re all pulling & praying for you and your baby…and it’s going to be a fun time while we’re watching & waiting and especially when s/he gets here!

Now I have the answer to my question I’ve been asking. I guess Mario is not in Kentucky with you. How do you donate to the fund to send Mario to visit with you? I want to give. I know you both love each other so much!!!
Lanie
Awww…that dog is the cat’s meow! Is she what they call an apricot? I’ve had 2 poodles over the years…each lived over 15 years..one white one and one black and white one(Pepi Le Pew)..I sure miss them still! Both had unbelievable sprits! Sophie is just tooo sweet and I love seeing pictures of her…someone needs to get a really close up one of the two of you..for posterity! I’d love that!
It is indeed exciting times..I’m keeping up with Souper Spectacular too although I haven’t found out much lately…sort of concerned..not sure what’s up..hope all is ok!
Wow!! Mike won today on Mr. Commons..he won 2 races so was big day for him. Have you seen his poster named “Farewell Kiss”…it’s great of the two of you! He let his FB fans enter names and then he picked one. The winner won a free print! Too bad for me..I thought a good name was “Dream Weavers”..to me that is what the whole team Z is! Thank Dottie soooo much for keeping us up to date. Wish her well for me and I always say a prayer for all of the team…without whom so much awareness of the sport wouldn’t have been possible either…they’ve shared you and that’s been great for all of us!
Well….we will know soon about your”condition”…best of luck girl…hopefully all will be well..Spring is just beautiful in Ky!! You are gonna love it…just wait til all that bluegrass turns green and the sky is full of sun…WOO HOO!! Don’t know about you but ..I”M ready! Keep on staying healthy and happy…Oh wanted to tell you that my sister has a rare liver disease and it’s a long name…she will be 75 April 2nd…she is in the last stages now but was determined to go home and has worked so very hard to walk and get around well. She’s going to get to go home Monday for as long as possible. Tonight at the hospital she just loved my Zenny stories…I practically gave her a minute by minute of each race and all the wonderful things that are Zenny. She loves horses and she sat there just enthralled…she’s been so sick she hasn’t been able to watch tv for a long time and has treatments all the time and such. She knew of you she just wanted me to tell her more and more! We talked about Secretariat too as she really loved him..she had a horse when she was little. She’s had a hard 3 years or so and it was so good to see her face light up…I think I may have spent way to much time talking..but she didn’t mind! So…you cheered someone and brought the sparkle back in their eyes girl and it was such a good thing..she has 5 kids and was a great mom…she knows you will be too! Thanks Zenny…seems your story will never ever fade away…there will always be someone who will be spurred on through those trials that Dottie mentioned because they have the incredible story of Zenny and all that she is and how much she was loved! Thank you. I still love you here..under the moon over Ky. oxoxoxox

Congradulations on your pregnancy Zenny. We will be praying for you and your foal. I can see a colt in your future, looking like his Daddy with your speed and personality. God bless you and keep you healthy.

Dearest Zenyatta – you bring enchantment into our lives. And enchantment can bring a big smile to our faces and make the day a better one, no matter what the circumstances of that day might be. I think that this is one of the reasons we visit you everyday. The people you touch who post here nearly everyday, even those who only check in to read your latest Diary entry, feel that enchantment. We come from many different backgrounds and as Dottie said we all face “challenges” and “they come in different forms, situations and at different times in our lives.” But through it all we come here to be around you. This is your kingdom and it is a place to be amongst others who look for goodness, joy, compassion and also a place to find respite from those challenges we must face. Hearing about your adventures, especially the wonderful way in which you tell of those adventures, can put a pause on our problems, put a smile on our faces, make us feel young again and can also make us laugh. We remember you as the Queen of the ractrack, the prancing Princess of the paddock and the Fairy Godmother of the backside. Now we know you as ‘one of the girls’ grazing happily in the sun, and in 11 months we will know you as the kindest and most beautiful of all mothers to a tiny, precious foal. …..You’ve made a difference in our lives Zenny and we endeavor to reach out and make a difference in one another’s lives. Your spirit knows no boundries. You truly are a gift.
Dani
@Lanie – thank you for telling us the story of your sister. She sounds quite special. I’m sorry she has had to go through so much. But it is wonderful to know that Zenyatta has brought happiness into her life and that you can share it with one another. Like you said Zenny’s ‘story will never fade away……’. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

@ Sunny Boyd,
.
You basically described chimeric horses in your one sentence…when one fetus absorbes the other and becomes one. Sometimes no one knows until they go to DNA and register the horse as they look completely normal, sometimes in the case of AQHA stallion Dunbars Gold you end up with a brindle or other pattern. Some brindles are chimeric, some are not.
Did you know the same thing can happen in people? It’s a really fascinating phenomenom!

It’s so true, Zenny & Dottie — out of the love for Zenyatta & great respect for Team Z, a permanent gift of community has been born. It is just so amazing to think that it grew out of the memories and feelings attached to a great thoroughbred like yourself, Zenny. This is so much what the industry & the sport needs. I too hope that many others follow your lead and I think some have actually started….on Blood-Horse, Thoroughbred Times & DRF in particular, more “human interest” stories seem to be appearing. And on Facebook, where so many had already declared their love for a horse or horses, there seems to be a renewed explosion of community stories.
Community is a most powerful human alliance for so many reasons. Like love, it really can change the world!
P.S. Jericho in Montreal is sending many barks to Sophie…..he may be developing a very serious crush!!!!
