Good Morning,
Well, it has been a relaxed and happy time here at the farm! I love sharing snacks with my pals. Friendship and bonding with others is so important! We spend a great deal of time around the feeders…visiting and enjoying the grass hay that the farm sets out for us. As you can see, it is clear here…but the snow is due to fall soon. That is the reason the feeders are elevated…so we can supplement our diets while outside no matter what type of weather we are having.
Thank you for the kind words about the ZENYATTA LOUNGE. This is really helping so many women. The ladies have also planned a MOVIE night where they will get together on FRIDAY EVENING and watch movies. POPCORN FOR EVERYONE! Some discussion groups are also being organized so they can just “TALK ABOUT STUFF GOING ON IN THEIR LIVES.” This is so helpful. The Chaplain’s wife is going to start these get-togethers off…and then the topics will go from there. All of these activities are meant to be special for these Ladies. It sounds like we are off to a great start!
Maria asked about further donations for the LOUNGE. Please call Santa Anita…and they will give you the necessary information. You are all so thoughtful! Having this type of situation at other tracks would be a wonderful idea. I agree! Let’s hope this sets a good example for others to follow.
ZENYATTA FOR PRESIDENT!!!! Now, Suzen you are TOO CUTE! I am still blushing about this comment!
Baby pictures…Dottie is going through all of John’s files and will get some more for you. I guess this FAMILY HERITAGE and BABY PICTURE THING is really important to me now…with the anticipation of becoming a MOM!
As for my meeting Bernardini earlier this week…NO, that has not happened yet. I know they are ‘getting me ready’ for the big day…but we have not met yet! Dottie WILL LET YOU KNOW when it has happened. I PROMISE!
Oh, the snow is dusting the ground as I’m writing this.
Stay warm and enjoy your Tuesday!
With Love,
Hugs to all~

These last few days seeing you and the gals have been great! I keep looking at the pics-you are all so beautiful in your paddock. I cannot wait to see your baby pictures of you. I hope that your foal has facial markings like you and grandsire Roberto. But mostly Z, I wish for you continued good health and to have a safe and well little “Z” whatever it might be. Thanks so much Dottie for keeping us up to date and informed. It always makes my day.

Hello Miss Zenny. I’m so happy you are having so many wonderful days. A friend asked me how you were doing today, and I told her how you were enjoying your life these days with your girlfriends and many new friends. She was happy to hear it! I love you, Beautiful Girl. Say hello to PQ, Seagull & Alyse :)
Lane
Zen- Tell your connections we are all so grateful for the pictures and updates. Hang in there through the snow. I’ve spent a Spring in Kentucky and it is beautiful, you’ll love it. I’ve been to Darley and met your future beau and your dad. I’m sure they will treat you like the queen that you are for your visit. Try not to intimdate Bernie too much!
Bob Rose
Zenyatta, you did it again! This picture reminds me of how rewarding it was as I switched to managing Thoroughbred farms after the excitement of training horses for decades! I was a tad disappointed when it was decided for you to be retired, as I could see how much you enjoyed racing…but…one need look no further than this picture to see you will be just as happy in your new career as a broodmare. You are the greatest race horse ever foaled, and the Zenyatta Team were chosen by God to be sure you were provided nothing less than the wisest decisions. What a great Mama you are going to be<3

Dear Z,
You look beautiful out there in the pasture with your friends. Wish we can see you some day in person. We look forward to more pictures of you. Love to all of you. Judy and Russ

@ENSIGN
Can you give me an update on Storm Cat? Is he still at Overbrook Farm? Can he be seen by the public?
Thanks for all of your informative input. I enjoy hearing you and others answering questions.
Dottie, love all the info, especially the pictures, about our special girl. Many thanks. Love to you precious Zenyatta.

Dearest Queen,
Your photo today proves it’s always more fun to eat with friends, than alone! What a joy it is for me to see you enjoying your beautiful new home with all your girl pals. After all your hard training, it must feel like an extended vacation–one that you richly deserve.
I hope the snow doesn’t stay too long and that you’ll see green grass soon.
Much love to you and your team,
Stel

Hail to the Queen, Zenyatta!
I do love lunching and munching with my friends! :) P.S. Chocolate is my favorite treat for dessert!
And, hail to the Mosses, Dottie, John, and your Jockey, Mikie, for loving and honoring you!!!

Thank you again for the update. Hopefully-if your sources are correct-the Z’s breeding went well. :)

Waiting patiently…..

Hey Z!
I heard Rachel was there on the 21st with Curlin… did you get a chance to see her?
Yvonne and Maurice Kirby
Hi Zenyatta. Another great picture of you and your BBFs. Yesterday, TVG showed the one with you and your friends lying down in the pasture. Just gorgeous. Looking forward to more baby pictures, you are so adorable. Can’t wait to hear when you will have your first date with Bernardini. He will be so smitten; for he has never seen another like you. You are a national treasure, you Angel in Disguise. Love you always.

@Bob Rose
How kind a thoughtful your comments are.
It has sure been difficult for all to see
Z retire because she loved racing so much.
But now she is relaxing and enjoying the “fine” life and hopefully produce
some awesome foals. Thanks for your uplifting comments from someone in the
“business”

The power of those Thoroughbred hind legs
no matter what they are doing is sooooo
awesome. Mike Smith you are soooo very lucky to have personally been aboard and experienced the power,courage,and heart of Zenyatta !!!!!!

All these people who think Zenyatta going to Bernardini and having a “big date” and are dying to know when it happens…I question whether they have actually seen a thoroughbred breeding session! It’s not pretty people and there is NOTHING romantic about it. It can be quite disturbing and feels like nature’s hand is being forced. I’d rather keep other thoughts of Queen Z in my mind than this!
ENSIGN
@ Lynne,
.
Some know, some don’t. I described the process as politely as I could a dozen or more posts back and while some were thankful for the info, many more seemed rather disturbed by having it described. For many it’s a case of just not wanting to know I guess. For anyone still curious, do a Youtube search for Stormello. He’s a stallion standing at Vinery in Ky and there’s some video of a maiden being jumped 1st, as well as then being covered by Stormello. Vinery runs a busy commercial breeding shed so it’s pretty typical of how things run. No, I’m not providing any links and causing any uproar ;-)

@ Lydia,

Storm Cat is still living at Overbrook, in a back portion of the farm. The place isn’t open to the public & I’d think you’d have to have a somewhat decent ‘connection’ to get in to see him.

Nice to see more men commenting. As always, thank you, ENSIGN and L, for your contributions.

Zenyatta love the picture. Sarah is a special young woman. (Thank you sweet Sarah). I also like what Bridget said Zenyatta for President YEA!!!!. Have a Great day sweet girl. Many Hugs and Kisses from Shari in Ohio XXXOOO
PS Dawn I am so happy for YOU. You will always be in my prayers. I look forward to reading your so kind words to our Queen. God Bless
Lynne
@Ensign – put me in the disturbing category for sure. My first time viewing a mating was 2 yrs ago in KY at TC’s. The mating was ‘normal,’ but I felt so bad for the poor mare that I was in tears and had to walk away. I get that it’sa business, but for me I just found it really sad. Maybe a bit hypocritial of me, but I got to see the foals right after that and fell in love with each and every one of them! So, I’m going to not think about Z’s “date” and look forward to pics of a healthy foal. :)

@Lizzy
You are quite an interesting person accusing others on this site for attempting to “moderate” information on this site when you are part
of an alliance with @L;@ensign;@The Kennedys to moderate and control information on this site.
This is Zenyatta and Dottie’s site and respect to them and her Team should be
the focus of those on this site. They all
know racing, zenyatta, breeding better than any of us !!!!
horseluver
@Ensign
It is very inappropriate for you to reveal
any “inside information” that you may have
on this site. It is a violation of Zenyatta and Team Zenyatta’s privacy.
You are not the expert on Zenyatta and her
Team. So please make your contributions more general or related to other horses and not here. We are all on this site to talk and appreciate Zenyatta, Dottie and Team Zenyatta and Team Lanes End. Not your comments.

I believe the reason so many thousands have responded to you is not because of your great athletic ability, or how gorgeous you are , or your fun and uplifting fan letters. It is because of the love that surrounds you. Team Zenyatta truly loves you. All the love and devotion has spread to thousands of people all over the world and they are experiencing all the out pouring of this love and devotion for the first time in their lives.
You bring out the best in all of us.
Love hugs and kisses
Astrid
@Ensign – I usually enjoy reading your posts but I must say I am a little bummed that you let the cat out of the sack about Zenny’s mating before Dottie could announce it. I guess, I wanted it to be a big surprise! Oh well, I will survive it and I will have to scroll by your posts, when Zenny’s foaling time comes! :)
Hope Zenny was O.K.
Patricia
To all of Zen’s fans…we are All anxiously awaiting Zen’s news of her formal meeting with “BERNIE!” The Mosses and Team Z have been extremely gracious at providing us with updates, almost immediately. I am POSITIVE that they will post the news when it happens, no matter who has “Insider” information. I will believe it when I hear it from them.
Have a great day everyone.
Janice
One of Bernardini’s offspring, To Honor and Serve, will be running in The Kentucky Derby. We will be cheering for him. Zeny maybe one of your foals will be the next Triple Crown winner! I know you will be a great mom.
Dr D
I think all of these comments are quite nice and very impressive but I am still waiting for ANYONE to say WHEN we Zenyatta fans will be able to come to Lane’s End farm and visit “The Queen”!
horseluver
@Astrid
I am not sure we know that Zenyatta was bred yesterday for sure. I hope Ensign keeps his comments to himself about
Zenyatta and shares his expertise in the field no on her, which he has no expertise.

@Dawn Conrad: Congratulations on your wonderful news. Feeling the joy for you!
