Good Morning,
Well, it has been a relaxed and happy time here at the farm! I love sharing snacks with my pals. Friendship and bonding with others is so important! We spend a great deal of time around the feeders…visiting and enjoying the grass hay that the farm sets out for us. As you can see, it is clear here…but the snow is due to fall soon. That is the reason the feeders are elevated…so we can supplement our diets while outside no matter what type of weather we are having.
Thank you for the kind words about the ZENYATTA LOUNGE. This is really helping so many women. The ladies have also planned a MOVIE night where they will get together on FRIDAY EVENING and watch movies. POPCORN FOR EVERYONE! Some discussion groups are also being organized so they can just “TALK ABOUT STUFF GOING ON IN THEIR LIVES.” This is so helpful. The Chaplain’s wife is going to start these get-togethers off…and then the topics will go from there. All of these activities are meant to be special for these Ladies. It sounds like we are off to a great start!
Maria asked about further donations for the LOUNGE. Please call Santa Anita…and they will give you the necessary information. You are all so thoughtful! Having this type of situation at other tracks would be a wonderful idea. I agree! Let’s hope this sets a good example for others to follow.
ZENYATTA FOR PRESIDENT!!!! Now, Suzen you are TOO CUTE! I am still blushing about this comment!
Baby pictures…Dottie is going through all of John’s files and will get some more for you. I guess this FAMILY HERITAGE and BABY PICTURE THING is really important to me now…with the anticipation of becoming a MOM!
As for my meeting Bernardini earlier this week…NO, that has not happened yet. I know they are ‘getting me ready’ for the big day…but we have not met yet! Dottie WILL LET YOU KNOW when it has happened. I PROMISE!
Oh, the snow is dusting the ground as I’m writing this.
Stay warm and enjoy your Tuesday!
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Horseluver,

I’ll be polite as I can be here, but butt out.
I didn’t read or sign any terms of service when I started reading or posting at this site. It’s not a private forum. As far as any ‘alliances’ with anyone, where are you coming up with this stuff? If anyone is trying to moderate this site, it certainly seems to be you (another Linda B here??). If you don’t wish to read my comments, by all means, skip over them. My feelings won’t be hurt.
.
I repeat….I heard from a reliable source a strong rumour but HAVE NOT received the confirmation I’M PERSONALLY looking for to say anything 100% and I’ll leave it at that. You’ll certainly get the official announcement 1st on here or FB (or a similar to Rachel press release) I’m sure.
ENSIGN
@ Astrid,
.
See my above post. It’ll still be a surprise as I’ve not received the confirmation I’ve been looking for yet :-) And the foaling will be a surprise as well, even if I’m back in Ky by that time :-)
Cindy
Oh Geez! For me, personally, I don’t care WHERE I hear the news. I’m just anxious to HEAR it! If it truly was today, then I’m relieved. As someone else stated, it is not very romantic, for either horse. However, I have seen videos of matings (thanks to some nice people on this site that gave those of us who wanted to know the opportunity to do so (I CHOSE to hit the link), and I just didn’t see where the mare was having a hard time. In fact, you can tell when a mare is ready, and you could clearly see that in the video. The mare accepted the stallion with hardly a twitch. It was done and over with in 30 seconds. Again, just ME personally, but it was quick and matter of fact.
I also look forward to when Ensign and others that obviously DO know horses (check out his other posts) post comments. I learn alot from him and L, and others. It fascinates me to learn as much as I can about the why’s, wherefores, and how to’s surrounding horses. There is nothing I see wrong with posting knowledge on this site.

Big announcement on Diary Post #92
The Kennedys in San Diego
@Cindy — we could not agree more.
@ENSIGN — Bravo! And thank you for your travel wishes. We will look forward to Zenyatta’s posts and your comments when we return.

I’m in an alliance with ENSIGN?
Wow that is a wonderful compliment, THANK YOU!! :) I greatly value his/her input, experience and knowledge in these fields.
Also The Kennedys? I’m grateful for that as well as he/she/they have always been gracious about asking questions and responding to answers.

@Ensign
.
I’m ALWAYS appreciative of your comments and inside knowledge. My guess is “horseluver” is you know who’s alter ego….same writing inflection and attacks.
.
Seriously people (you know who i’m talking about) need to stop being territorial when it comes to this site. YOU DO NOT OWN IT OR HAVE AN UPPER HAND ON WHAT CAN AND CANNOT BE DISCUSSED ON HERE!!! STOP moderating others, please!!!
.
Now back on topic. Congrats to Z and Bernie. So happy that all went well. And it doesn’t surprise me that Z was professional in an unfamiliar event. That’s our Z……such an intelligent horse.
.
To the Kennedys…safe travels.
.
Now the next waiting period–16 Days and counting. ;)

Hello Beautiful Girl,
You and Dottie are too marvelous for words! Thanks for the info on how to donate to the Lounge. It is a great idea especially for the women who work on the back stretch.
Hugs,

@L and @Jenna–in case you haven’t seen this from 8/2010 on Life is Sweet:

You happened to list the specific mares I’ve been trying to find out about. At least LIS is at Lane’s End and due 3/2011 (bred to Smart Strike). Rags to Riches is in Ireland, Coolmore. It seems Ginger Punch, Azeri and even Dubai Majesty are in JAPAN at Northern Farm. It has a very nice web site but no email addresses and no mention of the ‘girls’. I’m planning to write to Japan. If I hear anything, I’ll post.
Also from 8/2010, here is link about Azeri inducted into Hall of Fame:

Mentions that Mike Smith rode her during her Horse of the Year campaign. To me, it’s very sad that we don’t keep great horses in the states. We’re so fortunate to have Zenyatta and her teams keeping such wonderful communication lines open. No worries that one day we’ll be trying to track her down on another continent. Best regards, SuzanneG

@Dawn–very happy for your GOOD NEWS! Lots of positive energy heading in your direction. Love and hugs, SuzanneG
