Good Morning,
What a THRILL! I am so deeply touched and honored! John Nerud, who is a RACING LEGEND, made some absolutely glowing comments about ME in his YouTube pieces called LASTING IMPRESSIONS.
Please enjoy his interviews!
Mr. Nerud’s direct quote about ME is that he feels Zenyatta is “equal or better than any mare I have EVER SEEN”. You have no idea how wonderful this makes me feel.
He complimented ME on what I did for our sport…and for Breeders’ Cup! I GRACIOUSLY want to thank him for his kind words! I will cherish them and remember them FOREVER!
To have one’s work respected and regarded in this manner is so significant and meaningful! I do believe establishing and accomplishing goals that you can be proud of is very important in one’s life. Then, to have one’s peers respect your work, as Mr. Nerud did mine, is such an HONOR!
YIPPEE! I really want to go out and celebrate this moment! I’m off to run a few laps in the paddock with my friends. Then I think I’ll spend the rest of the afternoon DANCING WITH SHEER JOY!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z
P.S. For all of my friends, Steve Haskin wrote a great piece in THE BLOODHORSE about Mr. Nerud and his visit to the National Museum of Racing on October 24, 2010. Please read it. Also, it is very special to note that Mr. Nerud just celebrated his 98th birthday. Happy Birthday, Mr. Nerud!

OMG! I just saw the picture on Facebook with Big Z and all her girlfriends laying down out in the field in a perfect row. How precious. Fred Stone should do a picture of it. People would love to have something like that. How special!!!

That picture of Zenny and her girlfriends sunning themselves is absolutely priceless.

Mr Nerud is right, You were the show at the Breeders Cup and the reason it was so widely followed on television. You reintroduced horse racing to the average American. we witnessed greatness in ALL of your races.

I just saw the pictures of the girls sunning themselves. How precious!

God Bless Zenyatta…just watched Mr. Nerud’s tribute, which is elegant and gracious, however, I don’t get the impression his compliments are forthcoming lightly; just well earned and deserved. Zenyatta, you are the Breeders Cup. Beautiful girl, have a fantastic day!
Olivia
Well you deserve it Z you are a racing legend now!!!

Beautiful Zenyatta, Just saw your photo with the “girls”. As you would say, “Too Cute”. Thanks to whomever took this for us to share, Sarah? Looks like a tea party to me and would like to see that wall size. Relax, enjoy the warm air and be happy.

What a great shot of Zenyatta and her buddies enjoying the sun. Hard to imagine the timing on that one, all looking at the camera, heads up. Congratulations to the photographer.

Happy Saturday!!!
Thinking of you and hoping you’re having a wonderful weekend.
Regarding Mike Repole, I hope he is sincere in how he acts. I’m a horse gal, not a racing gal. I hope he sincerely appreciates the Mosses and Shirreffs and follow their lead for the right reasons.
I think we’re all ‘watching’
Great day to everyone on here today! Thank you Dottie for all that you are.
Love you Zenyatta.
Mwahhh…. :)

It IS ‘For Heaven`s Sake,’ to visit ‘New Friends’ & following 13 photos, http://cs.bloodhorse.com/blogs/throughthelens/archive/2011/02/15/new-friends.aspx Anne Eberhardt’s visit w/ Michael Blowen & Friends, then, to ‘Look for Esther Marr`s feature story on ‘Old Friends,’ in the Feb. 19, 2011, issue of ‘The Blood-Horse magazine.’

Zenyatta sweet horse: How lovely to see you off your feet–on the ground, not up in the air. Together with your three friends. At last I believe that you have bonded with your own kind. A herd–the four of you. No cougar will catch you unawares as you give those active legs a rest and take in the sun.

@Astrid or @Dani–is there a way to see Uncle Mo’s facebook page without joining facebook? Thanks, SuzanneG

What a great piece about Mr. Nerud. I have a picture of Aspidistra, Ta Wee, and Dr. Fager. I think it was when Ta Wee was coming home since she was stepping off the big horse van. I know these “family pictures” can be hard to get when you horses are all grown up and have other things to think, but I thought it would be awesome to have a picture like that of you and Street Cry.
Kathryn Cogswell
RPK: Just wondering where you were . .. maybe not a feline cougar, but I know a human-kind that would if she could.
Astrid
@Suzanne: Uncle Mo:)

Just use google; for example if you want to look up Haynesfield’s fb – you google ‘Haynesfield facebook ‘ and his link will show. (Uncle Mo is under ‘Uncle Mo Repole’)
Zenny, love the pic. of you and your friends!! Thank you, this made my day! When you are rested:), please could you check if Life is Sweet had her foal yet?
Suzanne G
@Astrid and @ Dani– I tried google for Uncle Mo but was missing ‘Repole’. I’ll try again for anyone else I want to see. Thanks for Bloodhorse link too. Kind of interesting that these posts all came in a row–probably a good time to bet something if one were so inclined.

Just wanted to say one more thing if I could Z. There are numerous times I do not get to read through all your responses to you. But, while scrolling I did read a few and want to thank Christine for those words she found & sent and Sue for the “gratefulness” website.
This gives me one more chance to wish you love & a kiss on your soft nose.

Dearest Zenny, Yes, what a great tribute to you. As Mr. Nerud so aptly says, “You were the show…” You still are in my books. You’re beauty, heart and spirit brought me to the sport of racing but you are always the only and forever magnificent #1, The Queen. ABRAZOTES como siempre, Julie Ann
