Good Morning,
I just had to share this adorable gift I received for Valentine’s Day with you. As a racehorse, my jewelry normally came in the form of halters, browbands and bridles. I wore them very fashionably (I think) and they photographed very well.
Other types of JEWELRY are a rather new concept for me.
Well, for Valentine’s Day, an absolutely charming NECKLACE was made for me by a little girl named EMMA. She thought this would be perfect for me. It is priceless! To quote her MOM, “Emma says the ‘P’ on the end is for pretty because ZENYATTA is PRETTY of course! (Out of the mouths of BABES!)”
Emma also sent me a VALENTINE GREETING! This is all so special! Click HERE to watch!
The one thing lately that has really become so apparent to me is that I have FANS of ALL AGES. This really makes me feel so proud that I have been able to touch the hearts of so many different people in so many different ways!
And…my FANS THINK I AM PRETTY!
It is amazing how someone saying one or two kind words to you…CAN MAKE YOUR DAY!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~
Z

you are a gift Zenyatta, and you have touched the lives of so many. We hope only the best for you.

I just read about 10 scholarships from Race For Education. Thank you Team Zenyatta for your wonderful support of this worthy cause. Also read a blog about the Zenyatta Effect and the lesson racing needs to remember. Fans should be able to find these at Bloodhorse.com. I am a teacher and raise future race horses so both causes are near and dear to my heart. Thank you for your leadership in these matters.
Anne
Hi Z,
Now you are going to need a pretty jewerly box for all the girlie jewels you are receiving. You are going to make the red carpet actresses jealous with all your one of a kind pieces.
Emma is a very thoughtful little girl. As you say,”Too Cute.”
Thank you for your positive thought for the day in your entries. Each one brings encouragement and are probably words you heard from your team on a daily basis. Positive thoughts keep us kicking up our heals in happiness.
Dani
@Barbara Wood – You know, I was wondering about Catherine Uher too. She hasn’t posted on the other blogs I see her on either. She is also such a positive and joyful person as you are Dawn. My prayers are with you both.
Nancy
Thanks for sharing Emma’s video and necklace. How precious that you have so many fans of all ages.
Astrid
Zenny, you have over 65000 FB friends!! :)
@ Dawn C. – sending you lots of good thoughts and a butterfly: ƸӜƷ

Morn’ Zetty, :)
are ya all bright & swishy tailed?
Well, I wonder if any of the experts on Zenyatta the racehorse know what you speed read at the races?
49 miles/hr was what I found, and that’s on a mile or a little over for racehorses in general.
It might interest you to know that some of your thoroughbred cousins were used in the Pony Express days, and were able to gallop 2000 miles in 10 days. They were exchanged every hr or so, or 10/15 miles. They did about 10-15 miles/hr. Pretty neato, huh.
I know that leaves you snort-less, :) :) :). And I think I know why you’re never tired at the end of a race, your stride. The secret is in your stride. You gotta big one, and that gives you xtra-big gulps of what all athletes need, oxygen. And since you can only breathe when you’re in synch with your stride, the bigger the gulp, the more energy you have to put out. And your Mr.Sherriffs talked about your Bernie’s stride, Bernie’s got it, too.
Why, you will have a little bundle of stride :) :) :) Have a good day, eat your oates :) :) :)

@Dawn–lots of positive energy heading your way!
@Linda Moss–hope the ‘Zenyatta effect’ plays out in your Leadership Event.
@Sunny Boyd–where did you find the speed info? Thanks for info.

When you talk to YOUR MASTER today remember Dawn in you requests.
Thanks Love.

If I can talk and sing to my German Shepherd and my cats, and do the same to my bird, then I can surely talk to ZENYATTA via internet posts!
ZENYATTA…you are absolutely beautiful. You are the Cindy Crawford of racehorses!

Don`t miss Mr. John Nerud, ‘Lasting Impressions,’ Parts 1 & 2, on You Tube as featured by Ann Maree Matthews on her FB notes under ‘Zenyatta,’ #87. Mr. N. turned 98 on FEB. 9; the part owner & trainer of Dr. Fager. Part 2, gives his praise for ‘Z.’ Treasures, All.

Someone posted this very touching link on Z facebook:
Legendary horseman and Hall of Famer John Nerud, who turns 98 on February 9 of this year, shares his thoughts on Zenyatta and on the future of the Breeders’ Cup. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rLoVbLJEVA&feature=player_embedded

Hello, Queen Z! I hope you’re having a wonderful day–looks like the weather there is getting warmer? It’s pouring here in NorCal.
I’m sure you’ve heard there’s a new Bernardini baby on the farm–a colt born Tuesday, 2/15, whose mama is Golden Sonata–her second, I think, with Bernardini. Hmmm, so he must be a really good guy! It’s been busy there–14 foals so far this month!
Here’s the link at Lane’s End Farm if anyone would like to see the list of new arrivals at the “nursery”! http://www.lanesend.com/news/farm_news.html#foals
Love you, sweetie!

@Kathryn Cogswell and @Astrid–appreciate the info on John Nerud and the link especially since I’m not on FB.
@NorCalFan#1–thanks for list of LE foals. Also noticed one from War Pass in January.

Hi Zenny, love you forever, as always! I’m so happy Dawn has you in her life at this critical time for her.
@Dawn – I’m a breast cancer survivor, radical mastectomy, chemo, the works. That was a little over 6 years ago and I’m living a wonderful life. I will pray for you to be saying the same thing 6 years from now, and every year thereafter. My doctors said my positive attitude was huge in my recovery. My advice to those going through a serious illness is to keep looking and moving forward. In doing this, it will eventually be behiind you. You’ve been through a lot and I’m sure it was your incredible inner strength that helped you survive. Zenny doesn’t mind if you lean on her – remember, she’s our special angel here on earth. God bless.
Astrid
@Suzanne G – you don’t have to sign up with fb to read posts, access pic. and videos… Just click on Zenyatta’s fb link – right side on top of this page:)
@ NorCalFan#1 – Thank you for the link!

@Astrid–think I understand about links that are posted on Z’s facebookpage accessed via the icon at top of diary page. Do not understand how I’m able to link to Bernardini’s fb page via a link that someone provided in this diary but can’t get to Mike Smith’s fb page without joining fb. Don’t even know if I’m explaining this correctly but would appreciate some help getting to Mike Smith’s fb if I don’t have to joing fb. Thanks a lot, SuzanneG
Astrid
@Suzanne – when fb pages are set public (by the owner of the page) then everyone can read it. Thankfully all the horse-pages are:)
Here is the link to Mike Smith’s fb page -maybe it works now for you:

Zenyatta, that is a very nice necklace you have. I also saw the video of little Emma complimenting you. You already have tons of fans who think that you are a beautiful horse and that group of people will grow larger over time. I’m happy that you had a very nice Valentines Day.
Tamyatta
Hi my beauty, I’m catching up on the days I have missed because my little dog is in the hospital..she is very ill but getting the best care possible. We are saying many prayers for her and she has a picture of you for inspiration and to give her courage to beat this. Z I’ve posted on blogs and you tube many, many times that you are the most beautiful horse I have ever seen. It is truly impossible for one to ever be as beautiful as you…you are perfect in every way. Happy Vday and I laughed out loud when I read that sentence…Bernie sends his love! LOL LOL.That’s too much Z! He sure is a lucky guy and so handsome..I can’t help but wonder what Mikey has to say about him. Has he given his approval? :) I love you with all my heart Zenny, here’s a big arms around your gorgeous neck hug…and a kiss too.
Barb G
You’re not pretty, Zenyatta–you are the most gorgeous horse I have ever seen in my lifetime!!! From any angle of the camera, you are an imposing beauty…and you will always be.
