Good Morning,
I hope all of you had a fun, happy and special Valentine’s Day! Mine was fabulous!
Firstly, so many of YOU sent me wonderful cards and gifts. I personally want to thank you. The carrots, peppermints and goodies were terrific! I shared them with my paddock friends. We enjoyed every single bite!
I was able to TANGO with Mrs. Moss and my friends in CA. I so love doing that.
Then, MY GUY, BERNARDINI…sent me a few photos of himself at the farm…and an adorable Valentine message. I gather his friend Charlie at Darley…helped him type the email message to Dottie for me.
It read…TELL HER…BERNIE SENDS HIS LOVE!
Now how cute is this! I’m pretty touched by his effort! Steve Haskin also sent some photos of Bernie to Dottie for me…and we think this one looks rather CUTE! Great ears, great face, fabulous eyes and a playful attitude munching on his lead shank! These are all qualities I find very attractive!
As many of you may know, I kinda’ have a thing for EARS! I feel they can be very expressive and tell a great deal about a HORSE. When I was an athlete, mine were always forward and relaxed. They showed how HAPPY I was when I was competing. Today, as I’m romping about in the field, they are the same way…forward, attentive…and showing how much fun I’m having! Body language can tell a great deal about how one is feeling and doing. In looking at this photo…Bernie’s ears look “too cute”. Lucky ME!
Have a terrific day…and enjoy yourself!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Zenyatta,
Bernardini is such a Dude. Have a great day.

Wow Zen, it looks like he sent a big valentine chocolate horse to you. How sweet that is. Just think of all the horses in the past that couldn’t send valentine emails to one another…..what a great age we live in, and thanks to Darley for joining in the fun. I predict you are going to have one beautiful chocolate baby with nice big ears, don’t know if you’ll get the white chrome though, I hope so. Glad you and yours enjoyed the treats we sent. Thanks again to St Dottie and your team for these adorable posts….highlight of my day. luv and kisses on your nose

How wonderful you got your very first valentine from Bernie. He better have his eye on you, how can he not. I’m sure the horses are all sharing the gossip and telling him how lucky he is to have you in his life.
Tell Dottie I know she has fun doing the diary for you. She is one very sweet lady and you and John are so lucky to have her in your lives. All of you take care. Hugs.

A foal with Curlin leads one to think of the potential rivalry he/she could have with the Curlin/Rachel progeny. Could be, though, that there’s too much Mr. Prospector up front in both Z’s and C’s pedigree. I like Giant’s Causeway or Rahy mo’ better. BTW, I LOVE the courtship rituals we’re imposing on Z and B. Wish the “process” were actually fun for her.

Forgot to say I LOVE YOU, ZENYATTA!

Dearest Z–it’s going to be a long 11 months for us waiting for your baby to appear, but we’re up to it. Love the daily updates and love you always.

You will make such a fine couple I am not sure I can wait a whole year to see your fabulous baby. I have a feeling you will have a girl and she will be just as dazzeling as her mother. Loved all your videos you look so happy. Have a wonderful day XXOO

Zennie I love how everyday you just kinda say the kind of thing I need to hear. You hit the nail on the head practically everyday for me. I come away from here re-newed. Hopefully with a brighter outlook on what’s happening around me, with just a little more clarity about life and how others fit into my little corner of the world.
For this Zennie thank you isn’t enough. Tell Dottie thanks for translating your thoughts so clearly that we can come here to be refreshed.
I think between the two you–you should both write a book. Your name would be on top and Dottie’s would–As Translated by Dottie Ingordo-Sherrifs. It could be on topics of just thoughts for the day, what you see happening, what you hope for in the future.
I’m just happy I can come here and relax. Have my own little Z hug. And maybe send you a cyber kiss or two.

I agree with ear expression. My doggie – a parsons terrier – “speaks ear” and tells me a lot when he pricks them, flings them UP, down, or back, or forward.
How you perceive Bernie is important, MS Z, and we all look forward to your first foal. May it be healthy, happy and the focus of your respective lives. BTW, I too hopes he comes to YOU.

@lois–what a tragedy for you to endure! So glad that you found the courage and heart to keep on going and that you were able to derive inspiration from Zenyatta and her wonderful team. Congratulations on your first win with Patrick’s half-sister. Warmest regards and continued GOOD LUCK, SuzanneG

@Pat Beck,
I don’t imagine the ‘process’ is much fun for either of them. Not given the level of safety involved for two multi-million dollar Thoroughbreds.

LOL L,
.
I’d say the stallions certainley have the better end of the deal…atleast those with a heatlhy libido. If it wasn’t fun, there’s not much convincing one to do it ;-) I know some do get a bit bored with it after soo many mares though.
.
I can’t imagine Bernardini having any ‘performance anxiety’. He’s bred literally hundreds of mares. Zenyatta is the maiden here…

Zen, the Bernie photo is so cute! Do you have it hanging in your stall? Hope your paddock mates are not too jealous of your very handsome guy.

Hi Zenny, it was very sweet of your guy Bernie to send you a Valentine’s. Bernie really is good looking. His ears are cute, just like yours. You two are going to have one awesome foal!
I’m glad you got to Tango with Mrs. Moss yesterday and that you and your girlfriends enjoyed all the Valentine’s goodies.
Have a nice evening, sweet girl.
Love to all,

Bernie has those ears pricked right up because he is thinking about he is the boyfriend of the one and only ….the great….the Queen….Zenyatta. Now how lucky can a guy be to have Z for a girlfriend. Yes…this is all too cute. Hugs to you Z…
Gloria
Bernie and Zenny sittin’ in a tree….Hi Big Mama Z. I like the nickname Bernie. I love your ears. I think they should name one of your babies “Cotton Ears”. Thanks for your update! Love you!! XOXO

Zenyatta/Dottie! This is too cute! I think Bernie’s expression is hopeful?? maybe? please, please that you will love him too? What an adorable picture.
I think Z, that your mother has the most amazingly long ears, just like yours. I always look at my horses’ ears to see how things are going. My old alpha mare can lay her ears flatter than any horse I’ve ever seen. Never at humans though. Thank you for a delightful post.

Your boytoy is too cute, Zenny! I wonder if he feels any pressure, knowing that the whole racing world is watching him, waiting to see how he “performs” – this could be the biggest, most IMPORTANT moment of his life!!! There’s a lot riding on him, lots of expectations… I’d be chewing my lead rope, too,in this situation!
But he’s a handsome fella, and it’ll be hard for any foal out of the 2 of you to be anything but GORGEOUS! Too cute, the both of you!
Love you, Sweet Zen!
