Good Morning,
This is so sweet! John was taking some photos and thought you would enjoy this one. At the Award Ceremony the other day, they gave Dottie a small ME and one of SECRETARIAT as her gift! I really think they did a great job! I really look like ME!
John decided he would try putting these images is some different settings! This shot is very special as I am in front of the Breeders’ Cup Trophy John received when I won the CLASSIC! Here I am with ‘ECLIPSE’! I must say, I do keep some fabulous company! I’m so fortunate!
I hope you enjoy the photo!
Several of you have asked about the Z pin and if Ann had any more details about it. Well, at this time, there is no further information. She and Dottie are having a meeting next week…and as soon as I hear any other details from them…I will share them with you!
I hope the weather is settling down wherever you live. It is cold here…but I really enjoy it now. I do like playing outside and in the ‘snow’. I must say, I really think I have acclimated beautifully to my new lifestyle!
Have a great day!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

Hi Queen Z,
Congratulations on your latest award. You certainly put a smile on Mrs Chenery’s face. It was so great to see her looking and doing so well. I noticed that under your RACING FANS section of the website that some of your earlier races are no longer available to look at. I hope you plan to put them back up soon as I watch them quite often.
Blessings to all,
Chris

…And one day there will be a life size sculpture of you at Santa Anita to go along with those mini-you sculptures…Won’t John love taking a photo of that?
Joyce
Zenny – love the little statue of you, and what a wonderful picture of it with your absolutely wonderful (and so well deserved) HOY award. A full size sculpture of you will be very special to see (I’m sure it is coming one day) and wonder if it will be at Santa Anita or Hollywood? Perhaps another Park as someone suggested earlier? Wherever it is, your statue will bring a lot of pleasure to a lot of people who will get to see your likeness if they are never able to get to see you in person. LOVE and kisses.

Late to the dance, but to reiterate what CAM and L already stated above, the statue pictured with the ‘mini Zenyatta’ is not Eclipse. The Breeders Cup trophy is a seperate & different trophy and sculpture from the Eclipse Awards trophy.
.
The one pictured above is a replica of the Torrie horse, some suggested based on a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci.
.
The Eclipse Awards trophy has, obviously, a statue of Eclipse on the top :-)

Hi Z,
Great photo of your winning awards. You deserve everyone of them. It is still cold here in Queensbury, New York and… more snow on the way. Not sure where we will put it and unlike you… I am too old to enjoy playing in it. I am glad you enjoy it though. Keep having fun and enjoying your surroundings. You are the best!

Beautiful Zenyatta, You are too modest when it comes to speaking about yourself, the Eclipse and BC Awards are so grand, the mini Z is just precious and perfectly captures your beauty. Please thank John for his wonderful photos, I know he is like a proud father producing such a champion. And to Dottie as well for her extraordinary efforts in keeping us so close to you. We love each of you so much.

LOVE the photo and I agree that you would provide a much better statue for the award trophy! Gads, I dont know where these wierd names are coming from for your foals!! All of your offspring should have some aspect of the Zen or Yatta in their names! It could be Whole Yatta Love, Zen There Again, Z is the B, Zen We Win, Yatzen, just something to always stamp the heritage of your wonderful self forever and ever.

Happy Valentines Day Miss Z! Love the Statue’s , but how could I not? It’s of You!

Oh Yeah, again, the foal should be called Bernyatta!

Happy early Valentine’s Day Zenny!! Love is in the air for you this month. I love the mini yo–statue. I just got my Breyer Zenyatta horse and this mini of you is even nicer. The trophy looks mighty wonderful too!!!!! What a thrilling and proud day that was for you and John and the entire Team Z family. Zenny if it is at all possible, it would be lots of fun to post a picture of all the trophies you won over your career.
I hope you are having a great day today playing in the paddock with your friends. Zenny in the last couple of videos and pictures we haven’t seen Alys. Is she still part of your group? Stay warm. The other morning here in NJ is was only 9 degrees at 6:15am. Too cold!

Hi Zenyatta. John takes such great pictures and your awards and statues are just beautiful. Of course, anything that resembles you is just gorgeous!! Happy Valentine’s Day. Can’t wait to know the day of your big date. Love you all, stay toasty, have fun with your BBFs and love you, Angel in Disguise.

Thanks again for the update and picture! You are the reason I can keep going day to day. Have a blessed day – all of you!

I would like to see a picture of the inside of Mr. and Mrs. Moss’ house, the exact shelves where they keep all of their statues and Zenyatta awards. I expect they have a seperate area/room just for that purpose. I know all of Zenyatta’s awards and the awards that was presented to the Moss’ in her honor definitly take up a lot of shelves.
Dottie, make that on your to-do-list, get the Moss’ to supply you a picture of this so you can upload it to this website. It will give all us fans some extra excitement trying to name whic award we are looking at that we remember seeing them recieve. (we all know the HOTY will be the easiest to recognise), and the Eclipse’s, but she has had plenty of other awards through the years, not just Eclipse Awards.

Seems most any comment one tries to make comes up under the continual ‘awaiting moderation’…
Karey
@ENSIGN…kind of odd…my posts go straight up, lightning fast. Wonder what makes the difference.
@Carolyn: I hope Dottie doesn’t get the impression that the guests on her most generous blog site are now giving her orders about what she is supposed to do. We are so fortunate that she does anything at all for us!
Joan
@ Robbie, I counted the times Borel hit Rach in the last 16th in her last race and it was 13 on the left side. She had been passed and was fading , but he kept going to the bat.I remmber that race vividly and since that race my opinion dropped significantly re: Borail.
Well Z, racing goes on even if it is without you. Today will be a great day for 3 year olds, the triple crown awaits, maybe one of these talented will have the grit. I am so glad you retired sound and healthy, you came home just fine, that is in large part because of John. Let’s hope all the derby hopefuls come home safe today..
Love you Big Z

@Ensign,
The only post I ever had come up with “awaiting moderation” had an email address in it. When I reposted the same information with very clumsy instructions on how to find the email address without actually including it, it went right through. Could that possibly be the issue you’re having?
I and so many others really appreciate your information, I hope you will keep trying.
Joan
@ Robbie, sorry that should have 7 times not 13 times. Still a lot considering she was out of it at point. Following she had 1 more work, good work and then was abruptly retired.

@ENSIGN — We always look forward to your comments, very informative. We did ask you a few posts ago to comment on an alpha v. lead mare in the broodmare paddock.

Good Morning Zenyatta,:)
I found this old Cowboy song about a bronc rider and I remember reading this interview with your exercise rider Mr. Willard, where he speaks of you, havin’ all kindsa tricks up your hooves, :) :).
Had you lived back in the olden days could that have been you in the song?
Strawberry Roan
He says this old pony has never been rode
and the man that gets on him is bound to be throwed
I gets all excited and I ask what he pays
to ride this old pony for a couple of days
.
He says”ten dollars”, I says”I’m your man”.
The bronc never lived that I cannot fan;
The bronc never tried nor never drew breath
that cannot ride till he starves plumb to death.”
He says”Get your saddle. I’ll give you a chance.”
We got in the buggy and went to the ranch.
We waited till morning right after chuck
I went out to see if that outlaw could buck.
Down in the corral, a-standin’ alone,
Was this little old caballo, a strawberry roan.
He had little pin ears tht touched at the tip.
And a big 44 brand was on his hip.
We was spavined all around and he had pidgeoned toes,
Little pig eyes and a big Roman nose.
He was u-necked a old with a long lower jaw-
You could tell at a glance he was a regular outlaw.
I buckled my spurs, I was feeling plumb fine
I pulled down my hat and curls up my twine,
I threw the loop on him, right well I knew then,
Before I had rode him I’d sure earn my ten.
I got the blind on him with a terrible fight,
Cinched on the saddle and girded it tight.
Then I steps up on him and pulled down the blind
And sat there in the saddle to see him unwind.
He bowed his old neck and I’ll say he unwound
He seemed to quit living down there on the ground;
He went up to the east and came down the west
With me in the saddle a doin’ my best.
He sure was frog walkin’, I heaved a big sigh,
He only lacked wings for to be on the fly,
He turned his old belly right up to the sun,
For he was a sun fishin’ son of a gun.
He was the worst bronco I’ve seen on the range,
He could turn on a nickel and leave you change.
While he was buckin’ he squalled like a shoat,
I tell you that outlaw, he sure got my goat.
I tell all the people that pony could step
and was still on him a-buildin’a rep;
He came down all fours and turned up his side,
I don’t see how he kept from losin’ his hide.
I lost my stirrups, I lost my hat,
I was pullin’ at leather as blind as a bat;
With a phenomenal jump he made a high dive
And set me a-windin’ up there through the sky.
I turned 40 flips and came down to earth
and sit there a-cussin’ the day of his birth.
I know there’s some ponies that I cannot ride,
Some of them livin’, they haven’t all died.
But I bet all my money there’s no man alive
That can ride Old Strawberry when he makes his high dive.
:) :) :)

Beautiful award and a lovely mini Z. Thanks to Team Z for keeping your loyal fans informed about your life. Your diary is always very interesting. I also like to see the photos from John and others. Best to you, Queen Zenyatta.
