Happy Wednesday to all!
We had so much fun yesterday at our photo shoot. Ann wanted some great photos of me….of all my different angles etc…as she is hoping to paint me one day. She is a terrific artist…and that would be so much fun and quite an honor!
Barbara Livingston has come out to CA and is spending a couple days at the barn with me. Ann also thought it would be FUN if my ‘extended 4 legged Moss/Shirreffs family’ came to see me for a couple ‘family’ photos.
I know Sophie Shirreffs very well. Dottie and John have her come out and visit me all of the time. As a matter of fact, she helped with my photo shoot for W MAGAZINE. I have not met Violet Rose or Stella Rose Moss before this. They are sisters who just turned one year old about a month ago. Violet Rose…always wears purplish tones…and Stella pink. We had so much fun together. We did some FAMILY PHOTOS.
I do not have the ones taken professionally yet (I’ll share some of those when we get them)…but for now, I’m able to share a few of the candid ones John took with you.
My 4 legged family members are too cute! We had a great afternoon visiting…cuddling…and just being family and friends.
As I have said so many times before, I am one LUCKY GIRL!
Hugs to all~
With love,
Z

Z you look good no matter what!
All of your fans love you no matter what you do! Life is ever changing and I can’t wait to hear about your accomplishments off the track. Good luck with everything and thank you for bringing me back to the Horse Racing world, I’d forgotten just how awesome it can be!

Now you get to be with your Friend Life is Sweet soon!! Good Luck at Land’s End:)

I LOVE seeing this beautiful mare happy with all her friends. She came through sound and in good health…which is the most important thing. Being a long time horse owner/breeder of quarter horses it has been a wonderful journey watching your wonderful ZENYATTA…my pick for the HORSE OF THE YEAR!!!! I wish for only the best for her and her extended family and look forward to seeing “little” Zenyattas in the future! XOXO

I really miss “DA QUEEN” already. She will always be special to me and will always have a special place in my heart !
Good Luck to you always Zenny !

Love you, Lady Z…..as the executive director of a non profit agency where volunteer mentors work with at-risk children…if you are ever going to be in Ohio let us know so maybe we can bring some of our great kids to meet you..what a thrill that would be for them!!!
Barbara
Thank you for your diary so much. I hope to much to be able to visit you at Lane’s End. Happy retirement you have meant so much to me and filled the void of not having my beloved horse as I had to sell him. Thank you Zenyatta and her family for everything!
Debbie
Too early to be retired. This is the life she loves, and Z is still on top of her game. I don’t think she will enjoy retirement.

Z — don’t stop writing. And don’t stop running any time too soon, either.
All our voices are heard saying you are the most special horse in the world!

What a wonderful, loving family you have. You say you are a lucky girl to have such a caring family and I say they are one lucky family to have you. I am now reading that you are heading to Kentucky in December. I knew it was coming but in many ways it’s sad. It’s an end to the greatest time in racing and I am going to miss seeing you fly like the wind. Zenyatta, you have taken my heart and run with it and you can keep it. I LOVE YOU!!!
Mary
Zenyatta, you look BEAUTIFUL! And, always know that you are racing’s Horse of the Year, this year and last year, and, from the beginning of your career. Love you always!
Me
Sounds like a great day Zenyatta! Love the posts, keep em coming!

Oh Zen…thjis is one of my saddest days…I shall miss your grace, beauty, and charm forever! The horseracing world just won’t be the same without you in it and I am SO SAD that we shall never be able to come visit you as I know broodmares are kept under lock and key and not accessable like stallions. I had planned a trip in late December to come see you and visit with you one last time before you left to be a mommy. This is truly the saddest day…I cannot imgaine the hoel in my heart that your departure from Barn 55 will leave….DEFINITELY the day the horseracing music died…..
Happy Retirement Beautiful One!!
I am scraping together every dime I have in order to try and fly down to CA from Seattle for just one day to hopefully visit you and get a chance to snuggle you again….try to wait to leave until I get there and can bring you a Honeycrisp apple.
HorseRacingMania loves you FOREVER!!!
THANKS SO MUCH to Jerry and Ann Moss and John and Dottie Sherriffs and ALL of Team Zenyatta for the thrills and joys and MAGIC that is Zenyatta!!!
Keep dancing Sweet one and shows those beautiful babies the magic of fancy footwork!

Here’s to your next adventure! God speed, Zenyatta. I love you so much!

Just saw the news on the Bloodhorse. We’re really going to miss you Big Girl. Just want you to be safe and happy. You’ve done so much for horseracing. Now we can watch and wait for your babies. Love you. Thanks to your people for taking such great care of you.

Oh Zenny-I am going to miss you so much! I love coming to Hollywood Park and spending time with you on a whim- it’s going to be very hard without you around and at the track. You have been so much fun to watch and cheer for. I can’t tell you how many times you took my breath away! Thank you to the Moss’s and Shirref’s for taking those family photos! Tou have no idea how much you are loved and how speical you are to everyone. You are blessed and lucky! Miss you already- Love you bunches- I can’t say goodbye….
Ann Maree
Love you, Z….I want you to be happy…I’m a little concerned that you will miss the fan contact as much as we will miss you! Surely, some provision will be made for you to interact with your fans! A happy mommy will have happy foals! Hugs.

We all love you Zenyatta. Have a happy retirment. Give us some great babies! ♥ You were an Unstoppable racing machine, and I’m glad you were able to retire safe and sound. :) ♥ Ya hun!
Linda
I don’t know how she is going to adjust to a life as a broodmare. Flies, getting rained on, no adoring crowds??? And every time I see her she has cotton in her ears.
sue
I am so happy for you! The farm seems like such a beautiful place and I know you will be the “Queen” of the “manor” as soon as you arrive. Can’t wait for further details…you have an awesome family!

Z – I know you are going to miss your loving family so much. I wish Mario could go with you. I already have my trip planned to come see you next May. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, can’t wait to see your pictures.

I wish you nothing but the best and a life filled with lots of love, happiness, and lots and lots of carrots, of course! You have given your fans and horse racing the time of our lives and we are forever grateful. God bless you and your peeps. See you in Kentucky, hopefully! :)

Zenyatta, I’m sad that we’ll no longer get the thrill of watching you race, but delighted and relieved that you are healthy, happy and still just drop-dead gorgeous after a vigorous 3-year campaign. You’ll love being a mama (what mare doesn’t). Um … y’know A.P. Indy sure is a cutie (wink, wink) and what a great family he comes from!
Donna
I wish that Brigadier Gerard and Nijinsky were still alive i have seen them in person and they were magnificent.
These are the only two stallions that I think would have been worthy for you to be bred to.
I hope that you do not go to the breeding shed yet but if you do I hope that you have at least one person that takes care of you keep you company as you have been at the stable much longer than most horses.
You are the most amazing mare that I have ever seen in the USA and Europe and I have been watching racing for 45 years.
God Bless Z
Sheri
Wow thats so cool Zenyatta! You ARE the luckiest horse! I love you! And thanks so much for all the diary posts! Keep them comming! :)

Hi Big Mama Z. Just saw the “retirement” news on Blood Horse. Sigh, I don’t know how to feel. Thank you for all of the great racing you’ve given us, albeit, sometimes at the risk of a heart attack! Hope we can keep up with what’s going on with you in KY. Love this picture that was posted with you and your family. Love you! XOXOXOX!

Zenyatta, enjoy your well earned rest, and thanks for the ride…..
