Hello,
Wow! What a great game yesterday! Both teams played so well. I think it had to be the love of “CHEESE” that made the difference. (Too cute!)
Being a FAN is such FUN! Normally during the time I was racing…I had to focus on my training and racing career. Now, that I have some free time, I’m able to do the FAN THING and it is terrific!
I have 2 very loyal fans from the Mid-West. They are Paul Soto and Brian Matney. Brian lives in Texas…and he and Paul would fly in to see me at the barn and watch me run! They both collect a great deal of ZENYATTA memorabilia…and it looks like I AM A HUGE PART of BRIAN’S decor! Based on the photo above, sent to Dottie, Brian has great taste in decorating…if I say so myself!
I truly want to thank the vast number of fans who were at Santa Anita on Saturday for the presentation. So many wonderful people waited for hours in line to buy the RACING ROYALTY Poster and My Lithograph. As a matter of fact, the GIFT SHOP even ran out of them!
I think Santa Anita was totally surprised by the large turn-out! I’m not! I truly know how fabulous all of you are…and I have felt your LOVE and DEVOTION for such a very long time now!
Have a fun Monday!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Good Evening Queen “Z” Like the Cheesehead. As always you look fabulous! The ceremony was lovey. I agree with Ms. Moss. Beautiful Beings who happen to look like horses!
It was so nice to see you on video at Lane’s End. Sure looks like your enjoying yourself and friends.
Stay warm.
Hugs and Kisses

@Jane. Z will get to spend the first 6 months with her foal. She will have lots if time to nurture and play with her baby. Spring into summer will allow lots of time outside with each other and other mom and babies! It’s a beautiful thing to see.
HappyHarriet
That room is so beautiful! Someone has put a great deal of thought into displaying the beauty of Zenyatta. Since your name, Queen Z, derives from the music world, how fitting for you to be in the midst of music making. I’m sure the sounds are sweeter because you are there.
.
Does it get better than Ms. Chenery, Ms. Moss and our Divine Dottie? And Kate Tweedy as well? Not to ignore the boys on Saturday, but oh my, the women really put just the right spin on the moment. And Jerry Moss adds so much humility to the grandeur of the Secretariat award. I saw a clip of Ms. Moss saying Zenyatta was “magical, magical, magical” and in a separate clip the Mosses saying Zenyatta was “of the Divine”. For those of us who hang on every word from “the horses mouth” via Dottie on a daily basis, we seem to be joined in the spiritual pursuit of joy and good will and I, for one, do feel we’ve been “touched by an Angel” named Zenyatta.
.
P.S. – Zasu, who I believe is Zenyatta’s half sister, won her race on Saturday – congratulations! And, like so many others here, I’ve become attached to that little sweetheart Pirate Queen. I think Dottie said we have to respect her privacy, so we’ll have to admire her from afar, perhaps, but she looks so adorable and huggable. She’s become part of the family.
Kimberly
Oh Queen, You have such a great sense of humor…(DOTTIE)…. You look sooo cute! It was a beautiful day at Santa Anita on Saturday for your award… Wish you would have been there to enjoy the sun… Nitey Night Queen…

@tony: You are absolutely correct. Zenyatta was the best horse in that field. To come from 20 lenghts behind to lose by a few inches was heartbreaking, but as far as I’m concerned she was the big winner that day. Zenyatta, you are perfect in everyway. A gift sent from heaven above. Thank you Team Zenyatta for taking such good care of her.
Dottie thank you so very much for what you have done and continue to do so that we can see and hear about our precious girl. Love you Zenyatta.
Linda
@HappyHarriet-Zazu is owned by Jerry & Ann Moss but is not related to Zenyatta. She is out of Tapit. However, there is a half sister to Zenyatta named Eblouissante that is very promising. There is an article out there called Seeing shades of Zenyatta in her half-sister which is excellent & makes me so excited about Zenyatta’s breeding to Bernardini. Eblouissante is a 2 year old out of Zenyatta’s mother and Bernardini. So we can get a glimpse of what possibilities are ahead for Zenyatta’s foal. Eblouissante is not owned by the Moss’ but she will be trained by John. Has anyone heard if she will be racing this year? I keep hearing different things. Love Zenyatta & reading all the posts. Always makes me happy!
Nancy
You and your team are amazing. Love the cheesehead1

Ohhh Zenny!!! Does this mean I should bring a Guiness and Cheese basket when I come to visit you in the Spring ??? LOL !!!!!! You are quite the Stylist !! Smiles…LOVE YOU SO!!!
Astrid
Zenny, you are a great model! I am sure the hat will be the new spring fashion at Lane’s End!
So happy that the women’s lounge got lots of items! Thank you everyone!
Someone else here already mentioned sending Valentines cards for Double L Stable. I hope the cards are pouring in but wanted to post an uplifiting story from their blog about a one eyed TB finding a new career.

I realize times are difficult with the economy but I am sure rescue organizations will appreciate any support they can get and even if it’s just a Valentine card or a thank you note as a pick-me up! Also, local shelters are always in need for cleaning/office supplies, towels, food, meds etc. Check their web site for the wish list. Every littl bit helps ♥
Zenyatta’s nephew has a facebook page and needs more fans! Thought I post here:

Unclo Mo, Bernardini, Haynesfield, Chamberlain Bridge, Well Armed etc. all have great facebook pages too. I know there are only so many minutes in a day to follow horses but hope we can support them all:)

I was looking at Pirate Queens stats she has a fabulous pedigree probably that is why she is at Lanes End even though she has not won a race.

Good morning Zenyatta :) :)
I still have a coed, so I have time to write some more :) :)
One question about Zazu, first off congrats on her win, but how come she is trained by a different trainer, I thought John Shirreffs was the trainer for all the Moss’ horses?
And about P.Q. Will her low grade endanger her existance in the future? Since P.Q. is discribed as a very mellow horse, may be that personality type doesn’t make for a great racehorse in general, Zenyatta being the exception with her kindness and gentleness which she chooses to grace her people with, most racehorses are discribed as being rather one track, highly competitive, high strung, no easy campers. In order to be very competitive on the track, takes almost always a dominent personality type. Well, eat your oates, apples hay& carrots now, I will :) :) :)

Yes, we Green Bay Packer fans are thrilled to have you as a Cheesehead! I watched the 2009 Breeder’s Cup Classic special on TVG yesterday and I got the same thrill all over again. You were definitely on your toes that day and overcame some really stressful situations. I laughed when one of the TVG personalities said that sitting in the gate for any length of time must be difficult for you because of your size–you could get claustrophobic. And then to have to back out and get back in again and still go on to win. What a girl!
Richard
Best of luck Z when you finally become a mother I know you will be a great one. If you are able to pass on even a fraction of your incredible gifts to your offspring we could see some great racers in a few years! If you pass on your loving heart and generous nature your offspring will be champions no matter how they perform on the track.
Astrid
@Sunny Boyd – about Zazu’s trainer – I wondered this myself:) but I think I read an article somewhere a few days ago where Dottie said” they want to be good to other trainers too” or something along those lines… I can’t remember the link – maybe someone else can post it?
As for P.Q. she seems to have excellent bloodlines so I assume she will go in the breeding shed:)
Kim
Z, your cheesy hat cracks me up – don’t know how it stayed on your head tho, a bit unreal, still, very cute and funny.
Susan
I wasnt able to get to Santa Anita but ordered the artwork to hang in my office. Another great tribute to the Zenyatta Team -and once again they acknowledged the fans by staying to sign the posters for as long as they could . Mike almost missed getting to the jocks room on time!
I am so thrilled that the fans came to honor you-yet another tribute to how much we all love you.
Got to love the Cheese Hat-Hope you enjoyed the game and had some great carrot munchies.
Zazu looked terrific-keep sending her racing tips
Love Ya Gal
Marianne
What would we do without the internet! Thank You Dottie!
Karey
It’s my impression that the Mosses employ several trainers for their various horses, and the trainers may also work with horses from other owners. A horse in training comes to the trainer’s barn. For anyone who knows for sure, does this sound right?
Tricia Clemmensen
Too cute, I am also a cheesehead at heart having lived in WI growing up. Thanks for the laugh – munching away like a true Packer fan with your special (new) headgear. You truly are the best. I wonder who Bernardini rooted for.
Janice Hollister
Zenyatta, what do you plan to do on your birthday? Please share your celebration with your fans.
Amanda Gilliland
My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, You look fabulous in your cheese hat! Way too cute! I am a Packers fan too and it was a great game. I like your fan’s photo of your memorabilia. About Santa Anita’s Gift Shop, don’t they know you are the most famous horse in the world! You have one of the largest Fan Family! I was so glad Dottie gave us a head’s up on ordering. Since I live in Alabama, I knew I wouldn’t get to go to Santa Anitia but I wanted your lithograph & poster so bad. Thanks goodness I got the order in. Yeah!! I love you, Zenyatta, so much and as always I’m sending Hugs & Kisses to You From Alabama, Amanda G.

highlight though was seeing penny at 89 running off the guy trying to get a ton of autographs from her after being told there was a 2 item limit. way to go penny!!
Paul
Zenyatta, as the photo proves, it turns out that you are a true Green Bay Packers fan (aka-a cheesehead). I didn’t really care who won the Super Bowl, but I leaned towards Green Bay. I am glad that your ceremony at Santa Anita, California had such a great turnout. I am not surprised at all that posters of you sold out. I wish I could have been there myself. It would have been very well worth any wait. You deserve every little bit of it.
Shirley Nolan Al-mlaiti

Here in Packerland, we are known to be avid fans and it is true that we are. Zen, we are also some of your most adoring fans. After having seen many cheesehead hats, I must say you look absolutely stunning in yours.
