Hello,
Wow! What a great game yesterday! Both teams played so well. I think it had to be the love of “CHEESE” that made the difference. (Too cute!)
Being a FAN is such FUN! Normally during the time I was racing…I had to focus on my training and racing career. Now, that I have some free time, I’m able to do the FAN THING and it is terrific!
I have 2 very loyal fans from the Mid-West. They are Paul Soto and Brian Matney. Brian lives in Texas…and he and Paul would fly in to see me at the barn and watch me run! They both collect a great deal of ZENYATTA memorabilia…and it looks like I AM A HUGE PART of BRIAN’S decor! Based on the photo above, sent to Dottie, Brian has great taste in decorating…if I say so myself!
I truly want to thank the vast number of fans who were at Santa Anita on Saturday for the presentation. So many wonderful people waited for hours in line to buy the RACING ROYALTY Poster and My Lithograph. As a matter of fact, the GIFT SHOP even ran out of them!
I think Santa Anita was totally surprised by the large turn-out! I’m not! I truly know how fabulous all of you are…and I have felt your LOVE and DEVOTION for such a very long time now!
Have a fun Monday!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

I meant to type “has ME” See… I’m laughing too hard to type!

Dearest Z, I love reading your thoughts about “things” and your daily adventures! I find myself smiling at the moment regarding one of your “fans” mentioning that a son of yours could be named “Green Bay”. I’d just like to add that I’m sure he would be a much better star on the track than the “Green Monkey” :)

There is the most beautiful picture of a mare with her tiny foal on Zenny’s FaceBook page today.
I know it’s premature when she isn’t even pregnant yet, but are there facilities at Lane’s End for a mare to stay with her baby? Or are they all taken away right away so the mare can be bred again more quickly?
I understand wanting Z’s genetics to be carried on, but surely she doesn’t need to have a baby every 12 months, does she? I don’t think Ann Moss would let that happen, she loves her so much…
I really hope she gets to keep her baby for a while.
Yes, I know – we all spend way too much time worrying about a horse. But we love the horse, you see. She brought us so much happiness and love, we want her to have it, too.

Hi Zenny, that cheese head that you wore for the game Sunday made me laugh until I cried. You are so funny with a great personality. Glad that I had the oppertunity to be at Santa Anita for your award and did get a sighned poster as that ment alot to me. I can tell you this, as soon as you mention the name Zenyatta, the fans come rolling in. You are loved so much. It would be nice if your half sister is much like you but I will have to say there is only one Zenyatta and we all have to deal with that. Have fun with your friends and stay happy dear Zenny. Love you much.

Dear Zenny, Love “the hat” What a great game yesterday! I was another one of your fans that had the good fortune to be able to purchase your beautiful lithograph & get a chance to meet Mrs Chenery & Team Zenyatta. What a thrill! Also met so many great Z fans while waiting in line. So much fun. Love to you always!

Hi Zenny:
I,like all of your fans, have accumulated a lot of Zenyatta memoribillia. Your pictures are all over the walls of my computer room and I have some that I made magnets out of and put on my refrigerator and also have made a photo album to keep on a table in my living room and have made a calendar of your pictures that I keep in my kitchen and I have a “Z” hat that I ordered from your website. You are so photogenic and have had such wonderful articles written about you and your fantastic team; so it has been very easy to become a “collector!” I also enjoy watching all the videos of you on my computer. The only one that is hard to watch is the last race at the Breeder’s Cup even though it was probably the best race you have ever run (like you, I truly feel in my heart that you won). Thanks, Dottie, for making an old lady very happy and looking forward to each diary post and each new picture and video.
Hugs & nose kisses.

Hi Zenny: Guess what! When I got home this evening there was a package by my door and guess what it was??? You!! I got my Breyer Zenyatta horse. It is so pretty. Of course it would be!! It is much larger than I expected. I am so thrilled. Speaking of memorabilia, I am running out of wall space. I have a beautiful print of you and Mario when you were at the Apple Bloosm. Then I took pictures and had them framed of you and Mike I got it when I was at the Del Mar and the picture o

Opps. I guess I am very excited having received my Breyer Zenyatta horse that I am going too fast. Of course I meant the Apple Blossom. And I was about to say the photos from the Del Mar are of you, Mike, John and Mario coming from the paddock to the track. I am very proud of those pictures. Love, Linda

What a doll, with or without the cheese. Congratulations on your VP Award. I get so teary when I think of both you and Secretariat. Two wonderful beings.
I stumbled across an adorable photo of Secretariat in Steve Haskin’s Facebook page. I guess Secretariat used to like to play fetch. What a character.
Thank you so much, Dottie, for keeping us in Zenyatta’s life. It’s almost that ‘time of the month.’ I’m nervous and excited. I hope the Mosses will be there for her (I’m thinking they will be).
Have a wonderful night, Zendotti. I really do think the foal she be given that name ;)
Big kiss, Z.
Nighty night.
Jenna
Here is the photo of Secretariat. Steve H is a gem.

Oh Zen, I am so glad you’re a Cheesehead/ Packer Backer. Alot of us in Wisconsin are having the best couple of weeks. First you were named HOY, and now a Super Bowl win. Thanks again for keeping us up to date. Hugs to you too!!

Some of your fans have said that they do not like to watch your last race. I can understand this, but I hope that they can take comfort in the fact that the last race brought even more fans to you. I am one. As long as I live, I will never forget the thrill of seeing you run on that day. You were absolutely magnificient. I fell in love with Zenyatta at that moment on that day. Long live the great Queen Z.

@ Karey. I got there around 12.15, the girls in the marketing office said they had taken some things over to the lounge already, and I see Julie Ann from O.C. said she dropped off a basket. My friends really came thru’ for me, I had so many books I had to get my friends teenage son to come and help carry them. But it’s all good, now he is a Zenyatta fan and only sorry he didn’t get on board earlier so he could see her in person. I had over 70 books, and gave the ladies a note with the address of a used bookstore nearby that has foreign books and will trade. Lots of toiletries from a friend who sells Avon. A great computer program that shows you how to make greeting cards, and by chance another friend gave me a ton of card stock in pastel colours that will be perfect for the card program. Had some other office supplies too. So I did pretty good. Oh , and don’t forget the 6 Wells Fargo ponies, too too cute. I put a card with everything saying it was from Zenyatta Fans, and perhaps the ladies could continue the Moss’ giving ways by giving all the horses in their care an extra kiss. Wouldn’t you know, the battery ran out on my camera! I was going to stop by the marketing office before leaving and take some pix of everything. However, I did ask a lady I co-ordinated with, if she had time, if she would be so kind as to take a photo of the things when they are in the lounge and email me. If she does, I will attempt to put it on Z’s Facebook page (& let you know here I did). I don’t know if many more people brought things later in the day, but I’ll try to find out. I know somebody posted a few days ago that they teach Spanish and were going to take some Spanish books. A couple of people from out of town were going to send a care package, which is very nice. I was just thinking it was an easy thing to do for those of us that live here. I will let you know as soon as I have any more details. Thanks for asking. It was a lovely day, I’m only sorry you couldn’t be here. I read in the paper that there were 6000 more race goers on Saturday than the same day last year! Also noticed Zenny has 600 more Facebook fans than last week!

Kathryn Cogswell, where are you? Haven’t seen a post from you in over a week. Everyone, please note. I got the idea for us to take things to Santa Anita for the Ladies Lounge from something Kathryn said, so she should get some credit too.

You are the first Queen that I have seen wear the cheesehead hat-you look pretty snazzy if I say so myself. Glad you are enjoying being a fan now yourself-life sure looks like it is treating you good.
My Love & Blessings to you sweetie-you absolutely sparkle!

Zenny you are “TOO CUTE”!!! Just a note to let everyone know, I donated to the Univ of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, The Barbaro Fund, on Jan 29th. I received a Thank You card with Barbaro winning the 06 Kentucky Derby on the front and a nice note inside about remembering Barbaro on the 4th anniversary of his passing. Just another feel good day because of ZenDottie and this wonderful forum for us fans. Now, to donate to the Double L Ranch for Valentine’s Day, which was talked about on an early diary post. Thanks Zenny and Dottie and all of Team Zenyatta, let’s pay it forward for the less fortunate.

Dear Zenyatta I wish so much that I could have gone to the signing. I watched the ceremony on the computer. I showed my homeroom today. I wanted all of them to see Mrs. Moss (she sent them gifts). I loved watching you run with the girls. You are so happy and I am so glad. Loved the post today and love the room. Well sweet girl I hope you stay warm. It is snowing in Steubenville, Ohio. I love you Hugs and Kisses from Shari XXXOOO

Zenyatta, you looked cool in your cheese hat. I missed you at Santa Anita. Have a great day. xoxoxoxo

Dear J SMITH: After our visit, sent a box to the Lounge & now find it quite true: ‘Nature abhors a vacuum,’ so others filling these recent pages do better than my own comments, all sentiments with which I have happily agreed .. . Fun watching the whirlwind of activity and enjoying everyone`s tender thoughts of ‘Z’ & her accolades . .. especially loved Penny Chenery`s interview after the Award Presentation. She is the most genuine and loving lady .. . And, when asked what it felt like to see her life story & Secretariat`s on film, she said, “Weird.” The great singular appreciation of all for Zenyatta & her Family [Extended, too] it means so much, and from the one historic person most capable of applauding her with empathy and insight.

Zenyatta…everyone has so much fun on your blog!! A lot of good is being done in your name. Just a few more weeks and Bernardini wiil meet Queen Z, and we’ll all have more to visit about. Hope you are having a warmer day in Kentucky than we are in Nebraska 8-10 below zero. My horses all snuggled in their warm stalls munching on their hay today.
