Good Morning Everyone!
Well, it has been a very busy morning here at the farm. The camera crew arrived at 7:30 and went immediately out to see me in the paddock. It was rainy and a bit foggy…but they feel they got some wonderful footage of me playing in the field with my friends. I think I looked ‘terrific’ as well. Hair, nails…and overall ME…in GREAT SHAPE!
Today is the day of the Secretariat Award. Last night, there was a small dinner party for Mrs. Chenery which John and Dottie attended. They had a wonderful, wonderful time. John so loves RACING HISTORY. Above is the photo he has had for years of SECRETARIAT which hangs in his office at the house. He looks at it every single day…with GREAT RESPECT for what Secretariat accomplished, achieved, and the manner in which his efforts have truly helped our sport and his fellow horses.
John felt it was truly a GREAT honor to be able to visit with Mrs. Chenery last night on such an intimate level…and discuss HER BIG RED!
Too cute…John will blush at this…but he even wore a blue/white checked shirt in honor of her silks. How adorable! (You know my John…DETAILS DO MATTER!)
Now….as for all of the fans being able to view the different things happening today…Dottie has been working with Amy Zimmerman from HRTV trying to make this happen. We know many of you do not have HRTV or your cable companies do not carry it. It is cold outside in so many parts of the country so you are not able to get out to go to a track setting. So….we have tried to work out some special things for YOU!
Per Amy…’Today’s presentation will be available in several places. It will be live on HRTV and streamed live on HRTVlive.com…which is the network’s subscription platform. Immediately following the presentation (or as immediately as technology allows), it will be available FREE OF CHARGE on HRTVlive.com through HRTV’s Facebook page and through HRTV’s You Tube site.
From what Amy told Dottie, they will also try and put up any extra footage of ME at Lane’s End on these sites soon..perhaps as early as tomorrow…for you to see more of ME playing in the paddock.
Now, Dottie is trying to get it set up so you can go to MY FACEBOOK PAGE as well (remember…this Facebook Icon is on the very front page of ZENYATTA.COM)…click the Facebook part…and we are hoping to get it to allow you to the HRTV page. TECHNOLOGY can be ‘interesting’ to say the least, but Dottie is trying to work with all of these people to get this to happen for YOU! Let’s hope! Hooves crossed!
Cheers to a fun day!
I just adore ALL OF YOU for caring SO MUCH about ME!
I am truly one very BLESSED HORSE!
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Beautiful Queen Zenyatta,
Just caught the free replay on HRTV! You looked like you were having a great time. We love Dottie and team Zenyatta for working so hard to allow the fans to take part in this special day to honor two great horses, King Secretariat and Queen Zenyatta.
Love and hugs!

Hi my beauty, what a happy day this has been. The Mosses accepted your Vox Populi award from Mrs. Chenery and Zazu won her first Grade 1! Wow…very, very exciting. I haven’t seen the video yet but I’ll keep trying. Next is your big date:) The world will be so patiently waiting for your little baby…woohoo! It’s really cool that your John has that beautiful picture of Secretariat in his office, but not surprising. I wonder how many photos he has of you, darlin’…too many to count probably. I saw a picture of Eblouissante today and she is very pretty Zenny. Not as gorgeous as you…that’s impossible…but really pretty. It will be fun to watch her grow up in your John’s barn…what a terrific place for her! Tell Dottie thanks as always for keeping us together. Dont want to think what life would be like without you in it! Keep warm sweetheart. Always loving you:)
P.S. GO PACK!

i watched the award show. i have read almost every post on this site. nobody loves her more than i do. i was ok until they showed Z running and playing with her friends. dust and dirt everywhere and all over her. thats not my Z. the tears havent stop since i watched her. i dont want her there. every time i think what she is going to have to go through in the next month and beyond it makes me sick. they are going to hurt her. i cant stand that thought. no matter what you all think Z belongs on the track. i will always miss her. i dont think i will be back to this site any more. i cant face the reality of it all. god bless my baby. she will always be in my prayers.

Hey Zenny! My sister is terminally ill so I have not been around lately…but haven’t in any way forgotten you. People everywhere love to bring up Zenyatta…no matter where I go. What a honor to receive this award…I think if you could “actually” talk you would say you are most proud of this award. It’s about your heart..your spirit. So many race horses have been forgotten..abused…left alone and abandoned….and now the contributions to charities and rescues is soaring. Thank you and the team…all of those around you…no one is ever going to forget…I love you…thank you for sharing your life..your goodness…it’s being passed on and racing will never be the same. I love you..still..here under the moon over Ky.

I spent the whole day at Santa Anita today (boy, does my feet hurt from standing for autographs) but it was worth it to meet with Mrs. Chenery, the Mosses’, John and Dottie and Mike Smith
It was also lots of fun meeting other die-hard fans and hearing all their Z moment stories. I got my signed poster and it’s beautiful although they ran out of the lithographs early on. Also dropped off some gifts at marketing for Z’s Lounge for Women. Love to all!!!

Hi Zenyatta. Wow, what a wonderful day for you, your team and your fans. It was awesome watching the ceremony and your video in the paddock. It is so great to watch you playing with your BBFs. I have ordered my poster and cannot wait to get it. We sure do wish we could have been there with you and to get your team’s autographs would have been the greatest. Thanx to Dottie and all and HRTV for making all of this possible and then to make it available for everyone to see is amazin. You are all the best – the award is gorgeous of Secretariat – what a great honor you have received the very first award and it is so rightly deserved. There will never be another Zenyatta, you angel in disguise. Love you always, stay toasty and have loads of fun with the BBFs.

It was great to see the ceremony via internet. Thanks for all the work you put into Zenyatta’s diary post! I can’t wait to read each day! Will they bring Bernadini to The Queen or will she travel to his farm?
Doc

I had a wonderful time at Santa Anita today and was lucky enough to get a poster signed by Ms. Chenery and YOUR family. I thanked Dottie for working so hard on your diary! :) I loved the video of you and your girlfriends playing in the mud … it looks like you ladies have a great time “just being horses.” And the Mosses’ filly Zazu was an impressive winner in the Las Virgenes Stakes; fingers crossed that she makes it to the Kentucky Oaks this spring! She’s a beautiful grey but not QUITE as beautiful as you. ;)

Hey Z, just wanted to let you know I just got to see the video. The ceremony was perfect! Everyone was so happy and they all looked great. Your award statue of the great Secretariat is breathtaking. Very beautiful just like you. Speaking of your beauty….that vid of you at LE shows a horse covered in MUD!! LOL! What must Mario be thinking….better that we not know..LOL!He’s probably out in back right now giving an Imaginery Zenyatta a good scrubbing! :)I know you are enjoying life and we are all missing you like crazy. Sweet dreams Zenny my love.

No horse deserved this award more than you Zenny…YOU ARE SO PRECIOUS!!! FROM OUR HEARTS TO YOURS!!! Thank You…and Penny is a woman that was way before her time in so many things…

Zenny, that YOU got the first Secretariat award was fitting, because only you can be mentioned in the same breath as the great Big Red, You both have no measure byond yourselves. Your Mommy Dottie is an amazing person in this industry, so full of joy in her heart for the horses, I for one am proud to know her, she always has a special place in our prayers and hearts, as do you my sweet sweet baby girl Z x0x0x0x0 from Maine
Congrats Big Girl :)

Just watched the video on HRTV, what wonderful footage they were able to capture of you this morning! You certainly look like you are enjoying life after racing, it brought tears to my eyes to see you bucking and playing (and covered in mud! i bet you enjoy rolling in the pasture) and it was so nice to see you with your friends. they all look at you as if they know you are the queen, even the ladies in the neighboring pasture like to watch you dance! thanks so much for sharing this with your fans, we love you!
Stephanie Lambert
@Lanie Johnson, we are praying for you and your sister, it is hard when a sibling is sick, my heart goes out to you as I have lost a brother…my soul weeps with yours…be strong for your sister, remember the best thing you can do for her is to make her laugh, be silly and smile…all my heart is with you
Cathy Polansly
Ya, we got to see it. THANK YOU DOTTIE FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK GETTING THIS TO US!!!!!! Zenyatta NO other horse deserves this award more than you. Hooves to you baby. Love you and lots of BIG, BIG, HUGS.

@ Linda in NJ – if it’s not too belated, this is ow you expand the information on a YouTube video — there are some little chevron like arrows (pointing down) near the lower right corner of the video when not maximized — just click them and it opens up whatever is there beyond the first few lines that show right away…
Glad you liked this — I did also! Sigh! Giggle!

I meant “how” with an “h”, sorry!

Dottie, you and team rock There is no way I can thank you enough for all you’ve done to keep us fans happy and informed

Oh, Zenny, I tried so hard today and I missed everything. I drove for 2.5 hours, paid for parking, stood in line for over 2 hours at SA and came up empty. I hope that my new friends in line, Barbara and Ruben, and Kurt and his mother, were able to get their signed posters. I had to leave to meet my vet for an appointment to check out the oldest of my horses, my 24-year old QH mare. My own horses still come first, but what a great day for you and your team. Congratulations on yet another deserved award. The poster of you and Secretariat is absolutely stunning! Racing Royality indeed!

Hi Zenny!
It’s past midnight for you ~ I saw your family yesterday! :-)
I went to Santa Anita with a poster containing photos of you & me. A photo Ann & Jerry Moss, and Dottie, (your John was busy at the barn 55 that day!)
What an instant hit with your loving fans!! Of course, the Zenny manicure: ZEN HOY was a real show stopper! So, even though you weren’t there, you were in the hearts of many!
HUGS & KISSES XOXO
p.s. I was interviewed by Zoey Cadman for HRTV! What a thrill that was!!! Me, talking about YOU! Boy! Am I ever blessed!!!!

@Jim. Z had been rolling and playing! She is having a blast! She gets cleaned up when she goes is and I promise you she can’t wait to get out the next morning to kick up her heels, roll in the mud and graze at her leisure. She deserves this, she had done everything and more asked of her … This is her time to play:) She is being well cared for, spoiled and loved and looks very healthy and happy.
S
@Lanie, praying for you, your sister and family ! God Bless
Leslie R.

Thank you so much, Zenyatta. Lovely for you and Team Zenyatta receiving the first Vox Populi award. We watched your heroic 2010 BCC with friends tonight before a dinner party and they cheered for you as if the race were live. Viva Zenyatta! Brava Zenyatta!
