Good Morning Everyone!
Well, it has been a very busy morning here at the farm. The camera crew arrived at 7:30 and went immediately out to see me in the paddock. It was rainy and a bit foggy…but they feel they got some wonderful footage of me playing in the field with my friends. I think I looked ‘terrific’ as well. Hair, nails…and overall ME…in GREAT SHAPE!
Today is the day of the Secretariat Award. Last night, there was a small dinner party for Mrs. Chenery which John and Dottie attended. They had a wonderful, wonderful time. John so loves RACING HISTORY. Above is the photo he has had for years of SECRETARIAT which hangs in his office at the house. He looks at it every single day…with GREAT RESPECT for what Secretariat accomplished, achieved, and the manner in which his efforts have truly helped our sport and his fellow horses.
John felt it was truly a GREAT honor to be able to visit with Mrs. Chenery last night on such an intimate level…and discuss HER BIG RED!
Too cute…John will blush at this…but he even wore a blue/white checked shirt in honor of her silks. How adorable! (You know my John…DETAILS DO MATTER!)
Now….as for all of the fans being able to view the different things happening today…Dottie has been working with Amy Zimmerman from HRTV trying to make this happen. We know many of you do not have HRTV or your cable companies do not carry it. It is cold outside in so many parts of the country so you are not able to get out to go to a track setting. So….we have tried to work out some special things for YOU!
Per Amy…’Today’s presentation will be available in several places. It will be live on HRTV and streamed live on HRTVlive.com…which is the network’s subscription platform. Immediately following the presentation (or as immediately as technology allows), it will be available FREE OF CHARGE on HRTVlive.com through HRTV’s Facebook page and through HRTV’s You Tube site.
From what Amy told Dottie, they will also try and put up any extra footage of ME at Lane’s End on these sites soon..perhaps as early as tomorrow…for you to see more of ME playing in the paddock.
Now, Dottie is trying to get it set up so you can go to MY FACEBOOK PAGE as well (remember…this Facebook Icon is on the very front page of ZENYATTA.COM)…click the Facebook part…and we are hoping to get it to allow you to the HRTV page. TECHNOLOGY can be ‘interesting’ to say the least, but Dottie is trying to work with all of these people to get this to happen for YOU! Let’s hope! Hooves crossed!
Cheers to a fun day!
I just adore ALL OF YOU for caring SO MUCH about ME!
I am truly one very BLESSED HORSE!
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Thank you Dottie and Amy for working it out so we can see the award ceremony and the Zenyatta film. I am looking forward to it! And thanks to Mrs. Penny Chenery for the Secretariat award — Zenyatta is in honored company indeed.
(I’m still emailing the cable company here in Colorado Springs to get HRTV but they say “this isn’t a market” and “there is already a horse channel.” Yet they can have umpteen channels of football, golf, and home shopping. I’m sure if it was offered there would be a market, but since they won’t even try, of course there isn’t one! Circular “logic” but I’ll keep trying to get them to listen to the “vox populi.”)

HRTV STILL hasn’t shown the award or Zenyatta (it is 3PM Pacific time). Now they are saying after the 6th race at SA. They did briefly show the Mosses, Penny and Mike signing autographs. Zazu won the Los Virgenes.

Lots of people here- sharing stories of Zenyatta

I was able to subscribe to hrtv but am hoping that soon we will see the award. I thought it was after the 5th but now they are saying the award is going to be after the 5th.
Oh well Z. It’s worth the wait. Stay warm and dry. I don’t want you to catch cold.
Hugs and kisses sweet Z.

I don’t know what I have done wrong but nothing is happening on HRTV. It could be that I am too impatient or the fact that I have a fever of 101.4. Just love colds with lung congestion. I will keep trying.
Jan Doyle
@Paula, nothing is happening on my HRTV either. It is 5:23 (CST). Someone let us know if it comes on?
Alexis Bortz

Dear Z and Dottie,
Thank you so much for all you do to keep we the fans a part of Z’s life. I got to watch the Secretariat ceremony on the Santa Anita web site live through California Racing Live web site. Z you look like you’re really having fun running and playing with your girlfriends. Love to all of you. Judy and Russ

Hi Zenny: Liney saw you out in the paddock with your friends. I also noticed the other horses in the next paddock taking it all in as the camera was on you. What a lovely presentation ceremony it was with your family. Everyone looked so lovely. It was wonderful to see and hear the real Mrs. Chenery. She was so gracious as she spoke so fondly of the great Secretariat and YOU! We your fans are so PROUD of you! Love, Linda

Another well-deserved honor for you, Zenyatta. It’s deserved because YOUR efforts also have helped our sport and your fellow horses. You and your humans are RACING ROYALTY, just like Secretariat and his.

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN

Hi all, the ceremony lasted about 5 minutes, the film on Zenyatta about 2 minutes. She was really playing to the camera bucking and rearing. You could tell she still loves the attention.

Congratulations to the Mosses and a possible new superstar Zazu!

Maybe we could get the unedited version up later for longer-lasting effect?

YAY ZENYATTA TEAM! How lucky to be blessed with Secretariat’s first VOX POPULI AWARD. You have galvanized the hearts of America and given us something to cheer about during these tough times. Love YOU!
LauraJ
Wow, that was nice. Zenny is so muddy, she is almost the same color as Pirate Queen. She and her buddies ahve neighbors in the adjacent paddock who were checking to see what was going on. I wonder who they are?
Very nice ceremony, and the sculpture/trophy was lovely.

To KAREY: Thank you so much for thinking of me. It is most kind. I have been reading the posts every day. I felt that others (for instance you today) expressed so well anything I might have wanted to say.
I just finished watching the Vox Populi Award on HRTV. So wonderful to see Zenyatta (who does seem to be the lead mare after all) running, kicking, tossing her head, and in particular having caked her dappled coat with mud!
All the best–Robbie

never could get it up for the supposed free viewing on HRTV :-( even registered with calracing.com, but to late to see the presentation. Now looking for any videos, please post here when you find any please.

HRTV Live says it has it but since noon all I’ve had is a dark screen and it’salmost 5 PM now.
K Henry
I’m jealous. All I saw was a blank screen.
Joan
Hey Girlie Z, love all that mud on you. It was easy to tell who is the LEADER and who are the followers. Love ya Z.

Queen “Z” I just got home from Santa Anita Race Track. I stood in line for almost three hours. Unfortuantely, I missed an opportunity to speak with Ms.Chenery and the Mosses, but did speak with Mike Smith, John and Dottie . What an amazing moment! What a special day for some very special people. I was one of the very few left in line that was fortunate to get a poster that was signed by all. Thank goodness! I would have been crushed.
Congrats to the Mosses on Zazu win. I guess you can say it was the cherry on top of the sundae.
Stay warm.
Hugs and kisses

Hi Zenny: I was lucky I got to see the presentation and you. I also saw the interview with Mrs. Chenery following the presentation ceremony. She mentioned that it was a great day at Santa Anita. The Moss’ won a race. I wonderful who their horse is that won? Congratulations again to all. Love, Linda
Marilyn
The same for me. When I click on the link for HRTV Live I get a dark screen where the presentation and video are supposed to be.
Does anyone know any other ways to see it?
Wanting to share in this special day. Thank you.

@Alexis — Thanks for link to Cal Racing and I see Santa Anita–about to be 8th race which is great. Did I miss the presentation?
