Good Morning Everyone!
Well, it has been a very busy morning here at the farm. The camera crew arrived at 7:30 and went immediately out to see me in the paddock. It was rainy and a bit foggy…but they feel they got some wonderful footage of me playing in the field with my friends. I think I looked ‘terrific’ as well. Hair, nails…and overall ME…in GREAT SHAPE!
Today is the day of the Secretariat Award. Last night, there was a small dinner party for Mrs. Chenery which John and Dottie attended. They had a wonderful, wonderful time. John so loves RACING HISTORY. Above is the photo he has had for years of SECRETARIAT which hangs in his office at the house. He looks at it every single day…with GREAT RESPECT for what Secretariat accomplished, achieved, and the manner in which his efforts have truly helped our sport and his fellow horses.
John felt it was truly a GREAT honor to be able to visit with Mrs. Chenery last night on such an intimate level…and discuss HER BIG RED!
Too cute…John will blush at this…but he even wore a blue/white checked shirt in honor of her silks. How adorable! (You know my John…DETAILS DO MATTER!)
Now….as for all of the fans being able to view the different things happening today…Dottie has been working with Amy Zimmerman from HRTV trying to make this happen. We know many of you do not have HRTV or your cable companies do not carry it. It is cold outside in so many parts of the country so you are not able to get out to go to a track setting. So….we have tried to work out some special things for YOU!
Per Amy…’Today’s presentation will be available in several places. It will be live on HRTV and streamed live on HRTVlive.com…which is the network’s subscription platform. Immediately following the presentation (or as immediately as technology allows), it will be available FREE OF CHARGE on HRTVlive.com through HRTV’s Facebook page and through HRTV’s You Tube site.
From what Amy told Dottie, they will also try and put up any extra footage of ME at Lane’s End on these sites soon..perhaps as early as tomorrow…for you to see more of ME playing in the paddock.
Now, Dottie is trying to get it set up so you can go to MY FACEBOOK PAGE as well (remember…this Facebook Icon is on the very front page of ZENYATTA.COM)…click the Facebook part…and we are hoping to get it to allow you to the HRTV page. TECHNOLOGY can be ‘interesting’ to say the least, but Dottie is trying to work with all of these people to get this to happen for YOU! Let’s hope! Hooves crossed!
Cheers to a fun day!
I just adore ALL OF YOU for caring SO MUCH about ME!
I am truly one very BLESSED HORSE!
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Z and Dottie–you are the BEST! Love the blue and wite checked shirt. Dottie, there should be an award for you too–the “best at keeping fans up-to-date” award!
I will reluctantly drag myself to the tv to watch the Super Bowl, but it can’t possibly be as SUPER as watching YOU racing, in your paddock, dancing, or anything else you fascinate us by doing. Love you always.
Barbara Wood
Forgot to mention–I sent you a Valentine at LE–hope you get it!
Jan Doyle
Thanks so much Dottie, what would we do without you.

Lots of extra-happy posting today. Love it that we’re all feeling the gratitude and the joy.
@Dawn C, thanks for the ‘bravo’. It feels good to acknowledge one another here, doesn’t it?
Time’s getting close!

Zen & Dottie,
Thanks so much for thinking of us on your big day. You knew Zen on the day of your auction that you would be something special. Everyone there heard you say it. Now it is heard around the world that you are not just a horse you are a gift from God. A special creation and you join a chosen few who came before you. Today the special one Secretariat. A horse who was loved as you are. GOD BLESS Zen.

A continued Thank You to Dottie!!! Can’t wait to see Zenyatta again!!!

Many thanks again to Ms. Chenery for creating the Vox Populi Award and for naming Zenyatta as its first recipient.
Congratulations to Team Z for having created a REAL “fairy tale”—the unfolding life of the “great racemare Zenyatta” (Joe Drape, NYT). Special thanks to Mario Espinoza, whom Zenyatta loves so much.
Thank you Dottie and Amy Zimmerman from HRTV for making the award ceremony available without charge. Team Z has been so very kind to Zenyatta’s fans and HRTV has caught the spirit.
Lastly, Zenyatta you are beloved for all the reasons that Karey so eloquently expressed. I’m sure that you are enjoying this day (you seem to enjoy all days!). It will be lovely to see you playing in the paddock with your friends.
You have proved in the horseracing industry that females can achieve greatness equal to males—side by side in the lithograph, Secretariat and you titled “Racing Royalty!”
Helen & Guido
Congratulations to all of Team Zenyatta and to you Zenny. You are without a doubt the greatest female racehorse. It’s been the most memorable experience to watch you in my lifetime. We feel privileged.

Thankfully I get HRTV (have it on now) but that is so kind of everyone in your family and from HRTV to make this available for free so everyone who loves you can see it. I love it that John wore a Secretariat shirt in honor of my other most-loved horse and his “mom,” Ms. Chenery. Can’t wait to see the award ceremony.

I’ve always admired Penny Chenery, so it makes me extremely happy that someone of her “calibur” in the horse biz thinks so highly of YOU,Zenny! Going crzy b/c I’m going to be somewhere with NO HRTV, and NO internet during the award ceremony!! ARGH!!! I’m on my way out the door right now! Boo Hoo! I’ll just have to wait til tomorrow when I’m back home – I just HATE to have to see it “second-hand” – would LOVE to see it as it happens. Enjoy, all! I hope it’s as good as I think it will be!

Hi Zenny: Well, it is 5:00pm here in NJ and I am getting very excited about your big event, which will take place in about an hour. I have been thinking of you and your family all day wondering how they are doing and hoping everyone is having a great time. I can’t wait to see the ceremony of you receiving this award from Secretariat. What an honor you have been given. Have fun! I will be watching. Love, Linda

Queen Zenyatta. You are awesome and so is your entire Team for the way in which they treat your fans. No one who has seen you race will ever forget your talent and your courage, not to mention your incredible personality and beauty.
Dani
Wow!! I got home in time to see Mr. and Mrs. Moss’s beautiful horse Zazu win the Las Virgeness. Jerry, Ann and Dottie were in the winner’s circle (Zazu is trained by John Sadler). With Zazu and Zenyatta’s names beginning with ‘Z’, Mrs. Moss said it was a ‘Z’ day. The Zenyatta part of the ‘Z’ day is only about 30 minutes away. Dottie you look fabulous!! Thank you again, again and again for everything you have done to make this day happen for we fans. You’ve gone way beyond the extra mile. Hooray for Dottie Day must happen. :)
Janet Cutting
Hi Zenny and Dottie: Dottie, thank-you for taking all the time and effort you put into Zenyatta’s Diary and now making it possible for everyone to see the show. Team Z, Mr and Mrs Moss and everyone in Z’s family circle would not be complete without YOU!!! JOHN, GIVE DOTTIE A BIG HUG AND KISS!!!! Take care all, Janet C/ Go Green Bay Packers!!!
Maria
Zenny, it great that Zazu won the Las Virgeness. Thanks for the update. Are you having fun outside with your friends. I love you!
Mary Jane
Dear Z and company,
As usual, you are always thinking about others. We so appreciate the details of the dinner with Penny Chenery and the efforts to share your Santa Anita experience with those of us who live on the other side of the country. The poster of you and Secretariat is stunning; the fact that proceeds will benefit charity is heartwarming. As always, I am in awe of the generous spirit of your human connections. You re all Z-BEST!!!!!
Karey
@Robbie P K, Glad you’re back. I haven’t seen your posts in a few days and was beginning to worry!
Shari Voltz
Dear Zenyatta and Dottie thank you for including us. I get TVG but not HRTV I am trying to watch online. So far no luck. I really hope I can see the video of the Queen playing with her friends at Lane’s End. You are a true gift Zenny and so was the great Secretariat. This award belongs to no other and you will always be the first. I love you and pray for you and your family(including Lane’s End family) everyday. Hugs and Kisses from Shari from Ohio XXXOOO
