HRTV TO AIR SECRETARIAT VOX POPULI AWARD PRESENTATION TO ZENYATTA FROM SANTA ANITA THIS SATURDAY
TO MY DEAR FANS,
This is exciting! Dottie has been working with the TV and Marketing Departments at Santa Anita for the last few weeks on this AWARD Presention. Well, one of the thoughts was that they send a film crew to the farm to FILM ME in my new home at LANE’S END for all of you to see!
Well, it looks like this is going to happen! YIPPEE! I will be on the BIG SCREEN at SANTA ANITA AGAIN! I love this thought!
The crew is arriving at 7:30 in the morning on Saturday to set up. Then they will be filming ME…in my paddock, with my friends, and in my stall. I am so excited. I gather they will then show this on Saturday afternoon during the presentation. THIS WAY I WILL BE THERE WITH ALL OF YOU TO HELP CELEBRATE!
At the bottom of this press release, Amy mentioned a way to see these HRTV things on a computer. I hope it helps those of you who don’t have this cable channel.
Time to check my HAIR and NAILS!
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Santa Anita…PRESS RELEASE
Arcadia, CA, Feb. 2 — HRTV (R) will offer live coverage of the inaugural Secretariat Vox Populi Award presentation, which will be bestowed upon the brilliant, 2010 Horse of the Year, Zenyatta, at Santa Anita Park this Saturday, February 5.
The newly-created award was recently announced and is the first of its kind in horseracing. The annual award will recognize a horse whose popularity and racing excellence resonated with racing fans and gained additional recognition for the sport during the previous year.
Secretariat’s charismatic owner, Penny Chenery, will present the award to Zenyatta’s owners, Ann and Jerry Moss, following the fifth race on Santa Anita’s card. Also expected to be on-hand are Chenery’s daughter, Kate Tweedy, along with Zenyatta’s trainer, John Shirreffs, and his wife, Dottie, as well as the wonderful mare’s jockey, Mike Smith.
In addition to the live coverage of the award, the presentation will also feature footage from earlier in the day of Zenyatta at Lane’s End Farm in Versailles, KY. Zenyatta was retired to the Lane’s End Farm last December and the Mosses have announced that she will be bred to 2006 champion 3-year-old Bernardini.
“All of us at HRTV joined the fans around the world in watching Zenyatta’s amazing career,” said Amy J. Zimmerman, Executive Producer of HRTV. “This award unites two of racing’s most popular horses of all-time. We are excited to bring this coverage to the many Zenyatta and Secretariat fans, but also to show them how well the great mare is adapting to her new home.”
Zenyatta captured the imagination of racing fans, and casual observers, during an astounding career that included:
only one hard-fought loss (to Blame in last year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic) in 20 races. In addition to her Horse the Year recognition, she is a three-time Older Female Eclipse Award winner (2008-10), and a two-time Breeders’ Cup winner — 2008 (Ladies Classic) and 2009 (Classic). The daughter of Street Cry earned more than $7.3 million in purses.

I only get TVG but I can go online, I think, to see her and her “family.” This is so deserved. Maybe someone will load it to Youtube. This is so deserved. Thanks for all your efforts for her fans Dottie. You are a gem. Please give our regards to Jerry and Ann Moss, and of course to John. Saw her Tango video on Facebook. What a hoot!

Beautiful Zenyatta, I’m so excited over this great news! Leave it to you and Dottie to work things out. I’ve always said, put two women together and they will conquer the world. Which, of course, you have already accomplished. I’m sure you have your personal stylist available, yes? I am having such a giggle thinking of you and it has been a day when a giggle is well deserved. I love you, you big gorgeous girl. Does Dottie need more shoes for this award? Keep me posted on the attire, we girly girls are always interested in that area.
Sharon
Yay!!!! I can’t wait!!
Margaret
Hmmm guess I’ll have to look around and see how to subscribe to HRTV for the day. My channel line up doesn’t offer this. And I don’t think my sister’s satellite package offers this.
Oh well. The important thing to remember is how well things are going for you Ms. Z. And that you’re happy.

WHAT A GREAT DAY AND FABULOUS WAY TO HONOR YOU, DEAR ZENYATTA. ZENYATTA AND SECRETARIAT…RACING ROYALTY!
WE WERE WONDERING IF HRTV WOULD ALLOW YOU TO POST THE VIDEO OF YOU THAT THEY ARE SHOWING SATURDAY ON YOUR DIARY PAGE. PERHAPS THEY’D LET YOU ATTACH IT TO YOUR FACEBOOK LINK. IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE SATURDAY …MAYBE SUNDAY. MANY OF YOUR LEGION OF FANS DO NOT ACCESS TO HRTV ONLY TVG. WE’D TRULY ENJOY SHARING THE MOMENT WITH YOU AND YOUR AWESOME TEAM.
Rosanne Glynn
My darling Big Girl…I will watch that on HRTV and I have to find out what number that is again but I know I get it because I watched you received “the horse of the year” award. 7:30 Sat. I will be glued to the TV! Hope you are warm, happy and eating peppermints and drinking Guiniss. Are they still letting you have that? :) Love you more than you will ever know. xoxooxox

Zenny: What a great way to celebrate. I wondered when they would realize that YOU needed to be there. I can’t wait to watch it all.
You are the most perfect creature on the planet, and so loved!!!
Jenna
How wonderful! She’ll be on satellite, her gorgeous self! I am definitely getting the print of my two favorites, Secretariat and Zemyatta. I could cry. I could also cry that Comcast doesn’t carry HRTV (satellite is dish, correct). I’m sure, for those of use who do not get it, we can see it on YouTube or the like. I can’t believe TVG will not show it. Hmmm.
Good luck Dottie! Which shoes are you wearing on Saturday? Congratulations to Team Zenyatta, especially our little Z.
Yay!!
Jenna
I misspelled Zenyatta! Tsk. Darn long nails. :)

Congratulations on the award and thank goodness HRTV will be showing it live! We chose our cable package just so we can get HRTV and TVG. I never could have kept up with Zenyatta without them. I live in a state where we can’t internet gamble but that doesn’t matter. Congratulations! THE KING OF SPORTS BOWS TO THE QUEEN!
Jo-an

It would be fantastic if you could please record the whole presentation event in Santa Anita & later post it on this website since I am unable to view the celebrations on TV this Saturday? Thanks.

I’m making note to self of time of award. I am so happy to hear of this award. I have been a racing fan for only a few years. It all started with me watching HTV while mending from broken leg. I have had several favorites over the years but Zenyatta is and always will be my bestest favorite. Congrats on the recognition.
Ray
Zenyatta,
I will not be able to be at Santa Anita this Saturday, I will be in Dallas for the Super Bowl. Congrats on the Secretariat award, you are the best.
