Good Morning,
We are busy planning for Saturday and the Secretariat Award. We have been in touch with Santa Anita and are finalizing the plans.
Dottie has spoken to their TV and Marketing Departments to try and get the answers for your questions. I hope the following information is helpful to you!
The presentation ceremony will be shown on HRTV and the Santa Anita feeds at different racing facilities. It will take place after the 5th race on the card this Saturday, February 5th. This is approximately 2:30 in the afternoon California time.
Earlier in the day, from 11:30—12:30, there will be a tent across from the Santa Anita Gift Shop, where MY TEAM and Mrs. Chenery will be signing posters etc. The poster is showing Secretariat on the left….ME on the right. WE BOTH LOOK SO REGAL! This poster sells for $40.
The Limited Edition Lithograph shown at the TOP of this DIARY will be $100. ‘My proceeds’ in relation to the total sales of these items will be equally split between 2 HORSE RELATED CHARITIES: OLD FRIENDS and CANTER of CALIFORNIA.
If you are out of state and would like to inquire about the poster or lithograph, Santa Anita suggested you go to their web-site…www.santaanita.com. There is something at the top of their web-page about this. Also, they mentioned Chris Crocker, from the Santa Anita Gift Shop, will be able to handle orders and mail purchases to you…if this is your request!
I hope this answers all of your questions! Saturday should be a very special day!
Thank you for your INTEREST! Wow! I can’t tell you what this means to ME!
SECRETARIAT and I are on the same poster…titled…
“RACING ROYALTY”
I truly couldn’t be more PROUD!
Have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

i love you Z but why not show your whole face. It looks like you have ear muffs on your nose. I’m afraid I don’t know the technical term for it. But your are a beauty and in fine company.

I just bought your 8 x 10 glossy of you showing you won Horse Of The Year, the HOTY baseball cap w/ pink “Z” & I also made it a point to make a donation to gratefulness.org in honor of Barbaro & another small donation to “Old Friends”. Now I just have to save my money for awhile b/c this is a MUST HAVE Queen “Z”!!! I think it is wonderful that you are giving back to your fellow horses & your AWESOME Team Z couldn’t be more generous!!! Thank you sweet girl & Team Z for helping those horses that are not as fortunate as you!! You are such a special gift from God & you are surrounded by some of the most wonderful, caring people in the world!!
I wish I could personally save all the horses in need but I have to give that one to God!! Girl, you bring happy, happy tears to my eyes everytime I read about you or watch one of your videos! I think I watched about 4 different videos around 3 or 4 times each yesterday on my mobile phone. Gosh, my own sweet horse is getting jealous!! Just joking!! I had an awesome ride on him Saturday & then we just hung out together (the boy – he’s an Arabian that must have some Cajun blood too – kept nibbling on my boudan!! LOL!!
God bless you & Team Z & I’m so glad you’ve got a good best horse friend now!! I’m sure you girls talk about the stallions & new foals all the time! LOL!!
Much, much love baby girl, Cara :) xxxooo

The poster of you and the great Secretariat is AWESOME. To be placed beside such a great horse is truly and honor. Congratulations on winning this first time award. They couldn’t start with a better or more beautiful horse than you Zenyatta.
Jan
Zenyatta,
The pictures are beautiful. Congratulations on the award. Many thanks to Team Z and all wonderful things that they do. Keep warm & cozy. XOXO.

My two favourite thoroughbreds on the same poster – what a wonderful idea, Zenny, and I bet you’re proud as punch! And did you see your suitor, the handsome Bernardini, on the Blood-Horse web site? Did you notice: he’s dancing too!!!!! Love & hugs to you sweetie.
Paul
$100, or even $40 would be what I would consider very well spent if I bought one of the posters of you, Zenyatta. The one with you and Secretariat is a very nice touch. This is not limited edition for nothing. I wish I could be at your Secretariat award presentation in Southern California and it has nothing to do with the weather. Any weather would be worth it to me to see a beautiful horse like you win such a prestigious award. You are really going places.

This baby’s going to be gorgeous and a dancer for sure! Maybe s/he could be called “First Waltz ZB”

“ROYALTY” of course – absolutely GORGEOUS!!! What a wonderful award. Lots of Love XXXOOO
Linda
Perfection!

Congratulations you are both royalty indeed. I also see that Secretariat will be the great grandaddy of your baby if I have read the pedigree correct. So looking forward to another award for a very deserving Queen and her Team.
Love to you, I still miss you however and watch your race re-runs whenever I get the chance

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more…
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
…I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.
LOTS OF LOVE
Suzanne
Will there be any time to get autographs on other pictures/memorabilia of Zenyatta? I have a beautiful photo of her that I got for Christmas that I would love to have signed, and I don’t know if I can afford the poster on Saturday (I’m a poor college student!).
Thanks for everything you’ve done for us fans! The lithograph is absolutely gorgeous.
Elizabeth
Congratulations on this prestigious and well-deserved award, Zenyatta! I so wish I could be there in person at Santa Anita, but I’ll be there in spirit! I commend Mrs. Chenery for recognizing you in this special way. You and Secretariat look stunning together – truly the King and Queen of this great sport! With love, XOXO

“Big Red” and Queen Z the two greatest ever! Both have those soft sweet eyes.

Hi Zen, oh please thank Dottie for getting that info on the posters for us I just ordered mine, I’m so excited! To see you Big Zen and Big Red on the same poster is just fabulous…racing royalty for sure!! I shall treasure this always and put it up with the print I bought at Oaklawn called “A Race For The Ages” of you and Rachael. I hope the ceremony will be on some sports channel or Bloodhorse so we can all see your fantastic award from Mrs. Chenery. Don’t forget to root for the Packers!!! Luv and kisses on your nose

Hi Zenny and Dottie, the art work is wonderful, and for those of us who can’t make it to Santa Anita on Saturday, thanks for making it available to us. I grew up about 2 miles from Santa Anita, and my sister, Charlene, worked there for many years. She actually ran the Thoroughbred Center (where all the promotional items are given out). She retired from the track about a year and a half ago, but she was there when “the great mare Zenyatta” ran. Of course, she knew all about you, Zenny, and had a good chuckle when I told her about this amazing mare named Zenyatta. I can’t believe she was right there when you were, too. Sigh, I’m so jealous. :-) Congrats on this very special award to Z and her Team. I love you, always, Horse of my Heart.

Dottie:
Thanks for sharing the information about ordering the lithogaph of Zenyatta. Since I live in MD, this was great news. Well, I just ordered mine through the Santa Anita Giftshop. Wonderful hearing about yet another award, this one being personally presented by Penny Chenery herself this Saturday. This woman is such a class act with a caring heart. Thanks for publicizing the importance of Canter rescue and Old Friends retirement. It’s so sad what happens to the unwanted horses in this country. I think if there was greater awareness about this issue, maybe there would be more of a movement to deal with it and solve it.
Thank you for you daily posts. You are so devoted to take the time to write them.

What a great honor for our Zenyatta to be on the same poster with the Great Secretariat. I wish my dad was alive to see this special tribute. Growing up in So. Calif, my parents took me to the race tracks about every weekend. I grew up loving the horses. I was 16 when Secretariat won the Triple Crown, I still remember how happy my parents were watching that race. I only wish my dad could have seen Zenyatta race, he would have loved her style. I feel Zenyatta has been my Secretariat for my generation and what a thrill it was watching her race. CONGRATULATIONS TO TWO RACING LEGENDS!
