Happy Tuesday,
This is too cute! Last night, Dottie, John, Ann and Jerry all met for dinner. They were discussing my ‘future exciting dating plans’ and the ZENYATTA SCULPTURE that was done by Nina Kaiser. The prototype of the piece is photographed above with Stella and Violet. It looks like Stella is commenting to Violet how much she loves it. I DO TOO!
Nina Kaiser is a very talented sculptor. She does beautiful work! Recently, she did the JOHN HENRY life-size statue that is at Santa Anita Park. While I was at BARN 55, Nina would set up appointments with John and Dottie to come out and STUDY ME! She spent hours upon hours at the barn just observing me while I was training and out grazing. Nina actually measured every single part of my body and then took detailed photos of ALL of me! She wanted to be sure she could reproduce MY IMAGE in PERFECT SCALE! We spent a great deal of time together. This way, Nina felt she really KNEW ME and had a feel for how my body parts all flowed together when I moved. I also found it very interesting to note the keen observations of ‘an artist at work’ while she was with me!
It looks like she GOT IT RIGHT! My TEAM absolutely loved her image of me…and I’M DANCING!! How fabulous is this! YEAH, NINA!
As for my dating plans, I think this news will be released very soon. My TEAM reviewed all of the details with me this morning…and I’M SO EXCITED! I will keep you posted!
With love,
HUGS to ALL~

What else can one say the statue is a glorious reprecla of our gal.We are very much aware that the list of sires out there, leaves much to be desired, but if I had to choose one I would select Tiznow. I understand the choices for the Mosses will be a dificult one,as there are so many considerations to weigh & measure, but after all is said & done Iam sure it will be the right one. The photo, priceless, Stella & Violet almost look jealous LOTS’O’LOVE Baby Girl

I would like to know about the Breyer model. I have collected Breyers for years and yes I have John Henry. I have only seen pictures of the one of you and didn’t think it did you justice. The JH mold would have probably been prefect.

I hope your future and first “beau” will be “man enough” to be with you, you big girl, you! I hope they kind of let you see if you “like” him, though I suppose that’s not part of the picture, but it may help. Maybe your first date should pass muster with Mike Smith first, since he loves you so much, and doesn’t think anyone is good enough for you, Queen. Happy dating, and be good! Lotsa luv, Jan
Wendy
I bought Secretariat today, and in the bluray extras, Mike gives a neat tribute to Zenyatta when he is talking about the intelligence of “the good ones” as he put it. Hope everyone gets to watch. Love you Z

Cannot wait to hear the news!

Nina did a fabulous job and I’m so happy she chose a dancing pose! You dancing just reminds us what life is all about! Whoever the lucky stallion that is chosen, I hope he has experience, treats you like the Queen that you are, and realizes what a lucky, lucky guy he is!

Love the statue Lazy Z if this is the proto type where is the big one going to be placed. Come on you deserve the very best. You deserve it now. Dating news is exciting and it will be absolutely right. As ever with love and hugs.
Jenna
I have an uneducated theory about breeding: It seems to truly skip a generation. For ex: Secretariat’s sons were not successful but the broodmares were…hmm.
Yes or no?
Linda Shull
Hope we will be able to purchase a replica of the statue. Where will it be?
Trisha Veazey
Beautiful girl, you know we all think there is no date that will be good enough, good looking enough. You are just too far above the rest. Whoever it is , he better bow down to the Queen or he will have to answer to thousands.
love hugs and kisses gorgeous one
I will be a fan forever

Ms Zenyatta, AP is too old for you, Girl. I just cannot stop thinking about this. I will have to adapt that some unworthy stallion is going to have beer and conversation with you. I love ya, Lisa g

Last night I was visualizing you in the paddock with a foal by your side. It was such a lovely picture. What a great experience to add to your other accomplishments.

Queen Z,
Love the sculpture! And how fitting that the artist captured you in a dance pose. Can’t wait to hear who your date is going to be. I’ve tried to think of a stallion that might be perfect for you, Queen, but then I realized that’s impossible. There is no stallion perfect enough for you.
Love and kisses,
Stel

Oh my goodness I cannot hardly wait who will be “Mr. Right”. I love Queen Z.

A.P. Indy…that is my guess for your first date. He is aging so get him why you can girl. You two will make beautiful babies!!!! Not to mention EXTREMELY talented!!!
Denise
Hi Z, LOVE the fact the sculpture is of you DANCING…I do believe this is one of your characteristics that so endeared you to the fans. What a beautiful sculpture…thank you Nina!

Dearest Z–
I vote with Stella and Violet. The statue of our “dancing queen” will be stunning.
Eagerly awaiting news of your fitst date. Whoever he is should pay YOU instead of your having to pay a stud fee! The very idea of royalty paying a fee to anyone!
I wanted to add that in the video of your sale at Keeneland for $60,000, you had PRESENCE even then. I love the way you were looking at the people.Love you always, sweet girl.
Happy Harriet
Oh my gosh! What a stunning statue and there’s that dancing prancing right leg that we all love so much! Stella and Violet – OH MY – now THEY are some very pretty girls indeed! And pictured with the QUEEN’s statue just takes the prize! Such an important decision looms! I wouldn’t want to be the Mosses or the Shirreffs right now as they weight and measure the options to the benefit of Zenyatta. Although I must say, these four are blessed with Divine Guidance and I believe extremely astute intuition. That’s why I know for sure their choice is going to be just right.
Susie
I hope it’s Dynaformer! He seems like a good choice for you :)

Dearest sweet “Z”,
February is the month of love…and the only Way to repay love is with love. I trust St. Valentine has a most special heart-warming gift for you. A gift you will soon be sharing with others once again.
cheryl
Your Mike said it best—NO stallion is good enough for Zenyatta. But being with you will certainly make his career.

Hello beautiful Z. I love the mini statue of you, and dancing yet. It is fantastic. I met Nina when John Henry was unvailed at Santa Anita, she is such a lovely person and she was examing the statue of John Henry even then, she is a true artist. Stella and Violet are adorable, are they Standard Poodles? Too cute for words. I loved this post. Thank you all for sharing such wonderful news about our Queen. Love you all.
Leslie R.
Hi Zenny, your sculpture is beautiful, just like you!! Nina Kaiser did a fantastic job.
I can’t wait to find out who your first date is going to be with.
Have a good night, sweet girl.
Love to all,
Leslie

Wow, I really love, love, love the statue. But, my gosh, $1250??? I can’t afford that as much as I would dearly love to have it. Maybe a cheaper one will come out a little later. It will be surely interesting to find out who the stud will be. I’d really like to know how a stallion is picked to breed with a mare. I’m sure that is a science within itself.

Dear Queen-Z & Team-Z,
Love today’s photo and Z-Diary entry. Thanks for sharing this news with us. The sculpture of Z is lovely, and I think Nina is a fabulous artist. I go and look at the “John Henry” statue, at Santa Anita, every time I’m there. Is your statue going to be on public display? Is it going to be “life-size”? The poodles are very elegant, also, just like Z !!!
Can hardly wait to hear about Queen-Z’s first date. Take care and stay warm. Fondly, OraJean

Susie,
.
Dynaformer doesn’t breed maidens. Perhaps next year, if he’s still available.
.
Someone early on asked about the number of foals a mare can have. It’s all relative to a mare’s overall and reproductive health. Some broodmares have had 20+ foals in their lifetime, conceiving almost every single year back to back into their mid-20s. Other mares do well to have 10 or so foals and have difficulty conceiving with a foal at side though it’s less common.
The average is probably somewhere in between 10 and 20 foals, assuming the mare lives to be 20+ years old.
Debbie
the sculpture is beautiful, just like you! and dancing- perfect!! love you Z!!!xo can’t wait to hear who your boyfriend will be:-)

Hi Zenny!
Those poodles are gawwwgeous, as is Ms. Sophie! My favorite dog is the poodle. I’ve had 4 in my lifetime. Love the statue too! Anything that looks like you is going to be fabulous. :o)
Gary Moulton
I think it is so cute, you leading your band around the pasture. Makes you look like a front runner, LOL
.
I bet even out of shape, overweight, and barefoot you could still beat most horses at any distance, over any surface, even snow. It’s not too late to make St. Moritz. Stella & Violet would fit in there perfect. Z, has any of your team ever seen the horses run on the frozen lake?
.
Love Nina’s work
