Happy Sunday Everyone!
Yesterday I commented that John and I spent some wonderful quality time together 1 to 1 when my CA FAMILY was visiting me last week. He took some distance photos for you so you could see my paddock. In this one, I am on the far right. As you can see, we have a wonderful, large paddock to run and play in together. It is very spacious and located in a place on the farm where we can see everything going on around us. The view is absolutely spectacular. As you know, I love to stand and look at my surroundings for hours at a time…just like I would do when I was out grazing at Barn 55. So this is very pleasing for me! I can see everything…everywhere! I feel like I am at a beautiful resort!
Then my dear John took some photos of ME. He simply can’t resist checking me out and feeling my legs…as he has done for years every single morning. I was a great sport…and let him do it. He really thought I looked fabulous and very healthy. Even though I’ve gained some weight while here…John thought I was ‘wearing it beautifully’. As always, he was full of many wonderful compliments for me! JOHN sure knows how to make ME feel special. I loved seeing him again!
My dear John did note, though, that I had a bit of a scratch on my one hip. I’m fine…just playing around in the field with my friends. It is all just part of having FUN! I do enjoy all of my free time and running free. It is a very special time for me in my life now! I feel so fortunate in so many ways!
Well, only a few more hours until GAME TIME for MY JETS! I want to be right up-front and watching when they KICK OFF! Oh, I do love my SPORTS! Dottie was telling John and I this morning that I was on ESPN. They were doing a segment on different achievements in different sports…and I was mentioned for my 19 for 20 record! Too cute!
Enjoy your day.
With Love,
Hugs to all~

John…if you ever decide to retire from training you next career could be photography! Just love the pictures of Z.
I have always felt that an animal’s eyes have the power to speak and Queen Z speaks volumes when you stand in her presence and she looks directly into your soul. It just sends chills down your spine, you know you are experiencing a special moment.
I have a suggestion for Z/Dottie to consider. I wonder if each month you could mention one of Z’s favorite charities and her many and mightly fans could make a donation if they so choose in Z’s honor. Zen’s legacy would continue to help less fortunate animals.

Dearest Z–
Just love these daily pictures. What a beautiful paddock you have to kick up your heels in! It will really be gorgeous in the spring.
Also, the Trevor Denman video was wonderful. Enjoyed it SO much.
I’m sure you’ll be beautiful even when you’re lugging around that precious baby in your tummy. I’m sure your diet and all things “baby” will be carefully monitored.
If not, they’ll have all of US to answer to. LOL.
I just realized that EVERY part of your life is amazing–not just the racing, but the new threshholds you are crossing now. We are so lucky to be a part of it.
For my part, I am so thankful to GOD that He made you and put your amazing team together. It was not an accident.

Thank-You to the ones who displayed the link to the espn clip, loved it watched 3 times. Hi Baby Girl once again great photos, they say a camera will add pounds to a subject but you look about the same, I guess your massive frame has something to do with that. None the less you look faboulous. Happiness always shows WE LOVE our girl.take care& be safe
Jackie
Good Morning Queen Z. You look fabulous! I only wish I could look as good with a few extra pounds. Ha! Ha!
Tell John his photos are unbelievable. He always seems to capture such beautiful picutures of you and your surroundings. Tell John he should become a professional photographer.
Thanks Dottie for the update. You have fans all over the world!
Stay warm.
Hugs and Kisses

I bet if you asked really sweetly that they would build a “racetrack” around the outer edges of your paddock for you! But you have to ask sweetly. Love ya, girlfriend, you deserve the very best.
Wendy Bratten
Oh Zenyatta, what a perfect paddock for you and your friends where you have room to run and graze and also see all around you. Isn’t retirement great? Just wait until spring when you can watch everything turn green and bloom! Thank you so much for the pictures of you.

Thank you John for the expressive pictures of Zenyatta. I love the first picture. If by “I’m on the far right” Zenyatta (who mentions it twice) means the speck off in the distance that shows her and your sense of humor. The perspective gives just what is needed–a sense of the scale of the place Zenyatta and her friends graze in. We’ve never seen her so far away. Best–Robbie

My darling Z, you ARE at a beautiful resort! and you deserve every minute of it. So glad John and you shared his pictures with us. As always, love to read your posts. If you look this beautiful on a dreary day in winter, in the spring you will be breathtaking when you can leave your winter coat behind. ;)

Hey Zenny, Did you know you ranked 11Th in the Kentucky Sportsman of the year balloting? I think that’s great but of course I thought you should be #1. Ole John Wall was voted #1, but what do the voters know! Hope you’re having a wonderful day. Love you.

Love the posts everyday. They always make me smile. JOHN IS THE BEST TRAINER IN THE WORLD. I wish all horses had such loving trainers. Z and Dottie you are lucky ladies to have John in our lives.

To the “Queen” and “her Court”: I’m so glad it’s this week at this time and I don’t have to be nervous about the Horse of the Year announcement. Congratulations to Zenyatta and to all members of Team Zenyatta. Many thanks for the wonderful diary posts and pictures. You give us all something to look forward to each day. Hopefully, you can be an ambassador for race horses in need!
Kathy
Love to see how happy you are Z! Can’t wait to hear about who you will be going on your first date with. Perhaps a dapper “mature” gentleman that Penny is proud of, a guy with roots in Ireland, or a fella with a bit more than a touch of gray. Humm, so many choices for such a lucky gal.
Jan
Zenyatta,
The pictures are beautiful. Thanks John. You look terrific and happy at your home at Lane’s End. Kiss kiss to your boo boo. xoxo.
Leslie R.
Hi Zen, the pictures are lovely. Thanks to you and John for sharing them with us! I’m so happy you are enjoying life. Lane’s End is beautiful and you deserve to have a great view!
I have a question – when you have your baby, will you still be able to go out in that field with your foal and with your girlfriends and their foals? I hope so! It would be nice for you and your girlfriends to be able to discuss things. I know you are going to be a great mom but being able to share experiences is important.
Enjoy the game!!
Love to all,
Leslie

I think I should write to 60 Minutes and thank them for introducing me to you Zenyatta. Don’t worry about gaining 100 lbs. Baby’s got back now and male horses love that. :) I think I will also get word out that they better be doing a movie about you! For God’s sakes, you are the “Horse of the Year” you know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you more than you will ever know..<3 ooxx
Paula Higgins
Thank you for the pictures! She is simply magnificent.
Cheryl Denton
Happy Sunday to you, my Queen! Keep enjoying your life, you deserve nothing but the best! Love you lots!!!
Sarah
Pictures and posts are so cute. As I look at this beautiful mare in the pasture with her “friends”, I was thinking that this is what all horse owners would like for their own horses. To have a wonderful “active” life with them, and then when that is over, to have “friends”, a pasture full of grass, and a great retirement. Well Done Z…
