Happy Sunday Everyone!
Yesterday I commented that John and I spent some wonderful quality time together 1 to 1 when my CA FAMILY was visiting me last week. He took some distance photos for you so you could see my paddock. In this one, I am on the far right. As you can see, we have a wonderful, large paddock to run and play in together. It is very spacious and located in a place on the farm where we can see everything going on around us. The view is absolutely spectacular. As you know, I love to stand and look at my surroundings for hours at a time…just like I would do when I was out grazing at Barn 55. So this is very pleasing for me! I can see everything…everywhere! I feel like I am at a beautiful resort!
Then my dear John took some photos of ME. He simply can’t resist checking me out and feeling my legs…as he has done for years every single morning. I was a great sport…and let him do it. He really thought I looked fabulous and very healthy. Even though I’ve gained some weight while here…John thought I was ‘wearing it beautifully’. As always, he was full of many wonderful compliments for me! JOHN sure knows how to make ME feel special. I loved seeing him again!
My dear John did note, though, that I had a bit of a scratch on my one hip. I’m fine…just playing around in the field with my friends. It is all just part of having FUN! I do enjoy all of my free time and running free. It is a very special time for me in my life now! I feel so fortunate in so many ways!
Well, only a few more hours until GAME TIME for MY JETS! I want to be right up-front and watching when they KICK OFF! Oh, I do love my SPORTS! Dottie was telling John and I this morning that I was on ESPN. They were doing a segment on different achievements in different sports…and I was mentioned for my 19 for 20 record! Too cute!
Enjoy your day.
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Zenyatta looks so unbelievably gorgeous. I wish and hope that John can visit you more often. I know he has a life and a job to do in CA but it makes me sad the you and he won’t see each other.
I’m so glad there’s very little snow there so you can graze around.
Thank you so much, Dottie, for keeping us in the loop. Always thankful :)

We fans are really fortunate being spoiled with so many updates and lovely pictures. Thank you SO much for sharing!!
Every time when I look at a photo of Zenyatta since her retirment, I think to myself, maybe I will ‘get over’ her now… but it doesn’t seem possible. She looks as magical and stunning as ever! So happy for her that she is running free in such beautiful fields.

I really enjoy the updates! It was so wonderful & exciting to watch you race @ both your classic wins (Ladies & “the” Classic). I enjoyed CA too! It is nice to see your boo boo’s explained. I already knew cause I have horses & know how they play. Non horse people don’t know these things. Thanks again to all who take care of you, Zenyatta!!

Lucky us – a new photo in the snow and a new diary post with beautiful photos – thanks so much John and Dottie! @ John – the picture of the Queen looking back over her shoulder almost looks like a painting – so beautiful! She is just so awesome. Glad she got to see her connections – horses don’t forget their people – especially those they love and clearly she loves John.

Thanks so much for sharing John’s pictures with us. Glad to see that it’s not so cold there! We’re looking forward to hearing the big news this week, Zenny, and hoping all goes well with the preparations–will it be Valentine’s Day??

I loved your post today Zen.
It is so nice to read about the relationship you have with those who love you. So many dear animals do not have this. Your work for them tells who you are and your roots.
Love to all there. Harley Greyhound (rescued at age 4.)

I hope you ladies are not playing too rough! Now WHO would have thought such aristocrats would mix it up a bit on vacation :)

Dearest Queen Z, Thank John for the great pictures of you having a relaxing day in the paddock with your friends. I know your team was happy to be with you and check you out. I can certainly tell you’re happy and of course, as beautiful as ever. You carry those extra pounds regally! By the way, when are they receiving an award for you at Santa Anita Park? I think I read about it on another post. I don’t live too far away and would like to join the crowd in celebrating your great life and accomplishments. Here in CA? It’s a very breezy day here. The Santa Ana winds of California have kicked in! Have a wonderful “rest of the visit” with your family! ABRAZOTES! Julie Ann

Zenny, to celebrate you and your trainer I ordered a big picture of you and John from Pictopia. The sky is blue, and the two of you are smack dab together! It’s now hanging with all of my other Zenyatta pix! Your Love of Life is contagious; we are all so lucky! I love you very much! Edie
Ann Maree
Thanks, Zen, for all the wonderful pix and the update…we will never tire of keeping up with you…good luck soon on your “date”…. can’t wait to hear who it is! Hugs! Your friend, Ann Maree

Hi Zenny! I noticed that scratch on your hip in another photo somewhere. It’s kinda hard seeing you get a flaw on you, but having 10 horses and 5 donkeys myself, I know that when you guys get out in the pasture it never ceases to amaze me how you can come up with cuts, scratches, etc. One thing for sure, you are indeed living the life God intended for you–a horse.
I’m so happy to see the stud chain, shadow rolls, leg wraps, tack, etc. gone. I thought I would never adjust to you leaving the track, but now I would just die if the decision was made to put you back in training! I love seeing you happy in your photos. You have a great day, and I hope your Jets do well…

The Fairytale continues…..

Zenyatta, you get more beautiful each day. We love you more and more!! I am glad your California friends were able to visit and spend quality time with you. I know you miss them like they miss you!
Each and everyone of us out here would love to visit with you, personally, but we know the farm cannot hold all of us!!
Take care of yourself and let us know when your family have decided on who your first date is going to be ~!!!!!
Love you ~

The bond is still strong, obviously, between Zenyatta and John and the rest of her team. What a gorgeous animal. Thanks for the photos; those Bluegrass winters can be dreary, but just imagine the glorious spring with pink/white dogwoods, forsythia, etc.

So Zen is a Jets fan! My guess is she may have a crush on that cute Quaterback Mark Sanchez LOL!
Have a question for you Z, can we order any of the shots John takes of you? I love the one of you grazing near the tree by yourself. Enjoy the game today! Go Mark, I mean Jets!
Charlotte
Love the pictures. Enjoy your day with your friends. Thanks to Dottie and John.
