Congratulations to the QUEEN…ZENYATTA. You desrved HOY last year and I’m so happy you finally got your due. You are one of a kind and a hero of mine! Enjoy being a mommy, I’m sure you will be great at that as well. We miss you here in California!
Gail

Roberta
Regarding the posts by Happy Harriet and Robbie Kahn, I too saw looks of displeasure from the people I thought I remembered from the Blame Camp. And wondered what these people were thinking! On national TV to boot. Then I thought surely I was wrong. When the Moss folks were so gracious, no less. Darn, I wasn’t wrong then. Obigsigh.

Oh Zenny…..We are soooooo PROUD of you! You are our “Horse of a Life Time!” We LOVE you “Z” xoxoxo Special thanks & congratulations to Team Zenyatta. What wonderful, loving work you have done in caring for Zenyatta. Please continue to keep us all informed on Zenny’s life so that we can still share it with her. It means so much to us all.
Randy
ZENNY – HORSE OF THE YEAR!!! So much crying and screaming last night… and that was just me in my living room! I couldn’t believe I heard them call your name and I loved seeing your team’s ecstatic reaction. It’s about time and is long overdue but I honestly think it’s sweeter for having to wait. Third time’s the charm!
CHERYL
Congrats! We love you too! Always and forever!
The Watkins Family
You are Numero Uno! Never a doubt in our mind. Have a sip or two of some Guiness to celebrate, then go meet some of the boyfriends that the Moss’ have lined up. Congratulations to Team Z!!

Yhe lines in todays paper said it all.
“Zenyatta certainly deserves award” And here are some gotes. “The final mantle of glory they place on Zenyatta’s shoulders Monday night was wonderful deserving and wonderfully and woefully inadequate. She certanily was horse of the year. More accurately she was horse of a lifetime”.
Years from now, old timers on the backstretch will sit on a stump, clean the mud off there shoes and tell stories about horses of a lifetime. They will mention the likes of Seabiscuit, Secretariat, War Admiral, Seattle Slew, Affirmed and Zenyatta”.
There was a song a some time back, that I listen to growing up, always made me feel good inside, That I’m now going to change some of the words when I think of it in a postive light.
“O’ happy day, O’ happy day, O’ happy day, when Zenyatta was born, When Zenyatta was born, it chase the blues away, O’ happy day.
Congrats Z, I think the whole of Mojave Ca must of heard me I scream like a little kid and tears in my eyes, I think my husband thought I hurt myself, I was so in shock I think right along with Ann, I was so ready for it to be Blame. But this year they got it right. Z you are our world, and no we should be thanking you for what you gave to us. Like Mike said last night “This makes it all OK ” And it does.
We still miss you and seeing you but with Dottie and Team Z keeping your site up for us helps with everything. Someone even shouted to Jerry last night ” Bring you back” I think for the brief min. we all wish that. Now for the news ahead I hope by this time next week we shall all know who you have a date with, were going to have to wait till about 2014 to see your son or daughter take that first step onto the track, but I know it will be a grand day, and maybe we can all start this amazing ride once again.
I hope there will be a new DVD, perhaps a book and more.
Again Z congrats, and I have said this all along ” Zenyatta, thie best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be”. We love you Z.
Marty
Horse of the Year 2010… Yeah finally!!!! You are horse of a lifetime to all of us…. Your adoring fans….
Lia
Z, had you not won, the earth would have opened up and swallowed the entire cast of Eclipse voters who didn’t support you. You are the most inspiring creature alive, and we revere you. At Del Mar, you came within three feet of me, and I’m still feeling the glorious effects of that connection. Live and feel joy for always.
Michelle
Congratulations, Queen Z. You earned it.
Don’t forget to tell us about your visit with your family on Sunday!
Anne
I could not breathe until Mr. Paulick typed your name on his live blog he was conducting for those of us less fortunate and do not have a TVG option with Time Warner. We could all respond on this blog and everyone was typing in large print… YEAH, ZENYATTA! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZenyatta… Queen Reigns… HA! Many of us typed how we were crying and sooooo happy for you.
Finally, the voters got it right! It isn’t just who you beat but how you beat them and you did it with an amazing heart and an unusal personality. You showed it for 3 years and always kept your fans first. To have over 600 posts already says it all. Do you know that Ray Paulick signed up this year just to make sure he could vote for YOU! He typed that to us last night. Wow… See all the people that you have touched? Love You, beautiful girl!
Enjoy the rest of your day! YOU ARE HORSE OF THE YEAR!
Annie

To all 128 voters who knew what you saw, saw what you knew, and experienced what you felt about this marvelous mare. You have given human honor to this award.
Zenny, this award is one more proof that you are truly transformative. You have brought out the best in ever-widening circles of people around you. You have given humankind your heart.
Linda M
Way to go team Z! A nice ray of sunshine this gloomy cold winter. Any chance of putting up a live streaming video camera in your paddock? We’d sure love to watch your turnouts each day.

The sincerity, joy & pride that Family Z exudes is such a breath of fresh air amongst a sometimes stale & dour group of individuals. The same can be said for Mary Lou Whitney. I have been an admirer of hers for sometime. She has never been afraid to stand up for what she believes about horse care or to use her “financial clout” to draw attention to necessary issues in the racing industry. And she has always seemed to really enjoy a good time doing so. I was holding my breath when the announcement was made for HOTY, then her name, then tears, then relief. Apparently it did matter to me a little more than I realized, that she was FINALLY officially recognized for her greatness. What’s left to say; ALL HAIL Z, ALL HAIL Z, ALL HAIL Z!!!!!!
ZenyattaLover
Ì Love You Zenyatta!!! You deserve it. You were already HOTY since you were born. You are truly the Worlds Greatest!! Thanks Zenny and Team Zenyatta!!!
Greatz from The Netherlands
Maryann
Horse of the Year!!!! You de3served it. The support and love of your Barn Family helped you succeed, but you had the talent, the heart and the drive to do all those amazing things. There will be a movie about you some day. Just like Secretariat, Man O War, Seabiscuit and the other greats. It was really nice that the need for helping retired race horses find good loving homes was mentioned. Always a concern for those of us who truly love horses.

Zenyatta, you are unique, the best, the sweetest. Thanks so much also to the Mosses and the Shirreffs for allowing you to meet so many of your fans up close and in person back at Barn 55. I did, and I will never forget, nor will I ever forget YOU!!! And thanks for taking the time every couple of days to keep us posted on your latest news! You are a shining light in this world and bring joy each day to each of your fans!!!
Georgia Gagliardi
I woke up in the middle of the night, and thought to myself…”Zenyatta won Horse Of The Year!” Again, big Z you give your fans yet another thrill of a lifetime. Your glory marches on!
Mary Moore
Congratulations!! I would love to see you in person!!

OK, perhaps not graceful blowing into a Kleenex is rarely graceful. But we all can be grateful to have a Zenyatta in our life’s, for she is a gift.
In the matter of a few short years, Zenyatta has taught us the love she has for the sport and an heart so big that she gives and gives.
When you step back, it’s not just about horses its about love, life, and learning from Zenyatta .
The best of all horses is Our Queen , Zenyatta rise to the challenges that was set before her and she has giving so much in return to everyone that follows her, her dance and if really look at her the smile and the love in Zenyatta eyes for everyone around her . Those who know , who love Zenyetta understand how fully a horse can hold a humans heart, for she has all of ours forever…
Marty
