Three fine finalists for Horse of the Year, but the best one won it. Congratulations to Zenyatta and her team for the award. You all deserve it.

Tears flying off my face, still. I heard your name and fell apart!
What a memory!
You and your team deserve every accolade under the sun. The Z in the sky spreads it’s glow to all who love you Queen Z.
Give Mikie a kiss, he was a great partner for you, Please hug John for taking you from a young princess to the gifted wonderful Queen you have become.
Congratulations to Jerry and Ann Moss, your fantastic owners.
Finally, please express our gratitude to Dottie for her kindness and voice she brings from our Queen Z to her thousands of subjects.
Darlene Neisess
Way to go, Z, the entire world of racing finally declared you to be the BEST such as it was meant to be. Kudos to your team for bringing you along the way they did, racing you later when you were matured more and letting you run your own race(s). They demanded so much of you in getting this award and you rose not once but thrice to this occasion and finally they could ignore you no more. Blame is a good horse but he and his team will always have a great momento and this is his moment of glory when you lost by mere inches to him. Can’t wait to see your life story on the big screen!!! (Hollywood…take note)

Queen Z. How appropriate! Now how about some warm bran mash to go to bed on? The perfect ending for a perfect day. Congrats to Barn 55
Happy Harriet
Hooray for Our Queen! It’s a good day in the Universe and for this moment, the world is properly aligned and what should be, IS! I was so nervous before the announcement I was afraid I was going to be sick! I wished I hadn’t eaten any dinner beforehand! LOL Then when Our Girl WON, I cried until my head hurt. What a night! Let me say, as a person who was born in New York but now lives in California, I was truly proud of the California contingent at the awards. A TRUE CLASS ACT ALL THE WAY! The Mosses, Dottie, John, Mike – what an incredible team. And the Mosses invited Zenyatta’s original breeder, owner, and the one who raised her from birth – are you other owners paying attention out there? Do you see how it’s done? I’m a true East Coast Girl with all that implies, but tonight, i was extremely happy to be a Californian. Did you notice that Zenyatta’s team looked healthy, relaxed, gracious, humble, inclusive and in shape? I swear – I thought some of those other folks were so bloated, red-faced, and out of shape that they were going to keel over right on the stage – are they THAT unhealthy in other parts of the country or have I become just another superficial Californian? Either Ann or Dottie brilliantly said it all – thank God that Zenyatta trained with John, who let her be herself and mature at her own pace. Imagine if our girl with her sweet spirit had gotten in with the wrong bunch! Mary Lou Whitney’s speech should be emblazoned on the back of every program in every race track in the world. Her points were on the mark, especially the plea for no more slaughter of horses, ever. Now we can all relax. This over due and much deserved award takes the sting out of BC2010. It’s like the most delicious dessert at the end of the world’s finest meal. Now, we look forward to the boyfriends, the babies, and the next generation like proud grandparents. CONGRATULATIONS ONE AND ALL. And thank you, Dottie and everyone, for acknowledging us, Zenyatta’s forever fans.
Nancy
HOORAY!!!!! Congrats to Team Z, and especially to The Queen.

Such suspense! Such triumph! Such relief!
History well-served, Justice prevailing.
I was as moved as Mr Moss was reading the words….
“If you love thoroughbred horses, you go through life hoping that you can see just one more in whose presence the clouds fall away to reveal the mountain top. It can take a generation or infinitely longer for such a horse to arrive, a horse that is capable of carrying the human heart. For the last one hundred years we know them all by name but Zenyatta brought us a beauty that was a tonic for the soul. She allowed us to believe in the impossible and it was the light in her being as much as the thrill of her races that got us dancing. Zenyatta was transformative.” – owner Jerry Moss quoting Priscilla Clark, President of Tranquility Farm, in his acceptance remarks at the Eclipse Awards for Zenyatta: Horse of the Year honors.
and all the Z-world wants to read and hear those words over and over again … so I am happy to post them here
Thank you, Zenyatta
Elizabeth
Hooray! This is the biggest thrill since watching you win the 2009 BC Classic while clinging to a flower planter at Santa Anita and sharing the win with so many fans, then have Mike sign my Zenyatta shirt! It was a privilege to watch you win at Del Mar last year too. What a deserving award for you and your wonderful team! This is why we love horse racing.

I am so lucky to have witnessed such greatness, thank you!

Finally! The news that Zenyatta Horse of the Year 2010, has really made this day. She and her team have just earned. I wish my “little” mare good health and happiness for their future life.
Love you Queen Z!!!
Sheri Gasche
A crown for the Queen Z at last! Many thanks to Jerry and Ann Moss, John and Dottie, Mario,Carmen, David and the rest of the team for taking such good smart care of this remarkable horse. Best wishes for her new life. Thank you for sharing so much.
Nina Jones
I love Zenyatta! I couldn’t wait to see her race…but even though Blame beat her it wasn’t by much considering she came all the way from the back to only lose by a tiny bit. If the race was just a little more, she would have won!! I have always loved horses and horseracing. I watch The Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes every year. It would have been great to see Zenyatta in the race for the Triple Crown….She probably would have been the first Triple Crown winner in years!! Way to go girl!!!
Sue
ZENYATTA = WINNER ALL THE TIME – YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST I am so excited for your little z baby to come. You my dear have changed the world. lol
Maria E. Hill

You DID IT!!!!!! They finally made clear what we ALL have KNOWN for so long! You are LOVED by the world Zenyatta. Congratulations to you and Team Zenyatta!!!

A job well done Zenny. When the announcer said there was
An unprecedented voter turn out for HOY voting I had a feeling
you got it. The additional voters out weighted the
traditional east coast dirt bias. Yipeee!!!! Yipeee!!!!!
I think you have begun to change the face of
racing. Mr Hancock was not pleased and Al Stall
had to eat crow. So glad Mike was happy. The Todd
Pletcher win for trainer was good ole boy network.
Let’s see how Uncle Mo does this year. I write to you
In this diary because I love thoroughbreds. I don’t
gamble and am not a race goer. You display all of
the wonderful characteristics of the breed heart courage
Scoop competition and drive to be all you can be.
On to your next career. Waiting to hear about your
first date. Keep flirting with Capone !!!!

NOW I am ready to order my Zenyatta sweat shirt! I have been waiting for HOTY to be on it. And I can finish my 2011 photo calendar that is all Queen Z pictures. You are the greatest and your people deserve all the recognition that they get. THANK YOU for putting the glory back in racing and for giving this life time horse woman such great memories.
Joyce
Hi Queen Z
Congrats. Horse of the Year. We all knew you were, it just took those Eclipse people a couple of years to wake up!!! I was hoping John would get Trainer of the year, gosh knows TAP already has a few of those trophies anyway-like he needs another one.
Speaking of trophies Z, you are going to have to hire a personal “maid” just to polish your trophies. Can I volunteer??
I watched the entire awards show, teared up everytime your name was mentioned, watched to see Dottie’s new shoes-very nice, Mrs Moss was gorgous in her dressy pants. WOW what a night capped off with Horse of the Year. Go Queen Z.!!!!!!!OH yeah, I’m still crying tears of pure JOY!!! Love and nose kisses. Joyce
