I am filled with so much joy tonight with the well deserved award. The award helps ease the pain since your retirement. I miss you and love you so much. Thank God for the happiness you have brought to so many people.

Dear Jerry, Ann, John, Dotty!
Everything else you have done has been unprecedentedly classy and innovative with our Queen. Here’s a suggested method of picking Z’s beau that Fredrico Tesio’s would recommend: Let her do it herself!
Take her to the stallion barn with the “finalists” in their stalls and see who she takes the biggest fancy to!! Foals of the love matches are supposed to have the greatest heart, spirit, talent.
I know the choice will be the right one!
Best wishes and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Patty

Dear Sweet Zenyatta. I also was not able to see the awards tonight but thank God everyone recoginized your total contributions to horses in general. You are, and always be, what people needed to see about horses and what was happening in the racing world and those not so fortunate. I hope you and Team Z continue to communicate with all of us in order to understand your world and how we can call help to make it better. Thank you and most contgratualtions on a win deserved two years ago. Love and Kisses Queen Z!

Dear Team Zenyatta,
This is my first time ever posting on Zenyatta’s web-site. Let me say, I know of no bigger fan of this incredible race-mare than myself. I’m sure you’ve heard that from a few million people. LOL But when Zenyatta’s name was called at the Eclipse Awards as 2010 HOY tonight, I wept like a child. Sooooooo long overdue. I live in Kentucky. Right in the heart of thoroughbred country. And I was so fearful that the east coast, conventional dirt biased media would once again short change Zenyatta. Make no mistake, Blame is an amazing colt. Who also deserves his just due. But the bottom line to me was this. In 20 career starts, against countless multiple stakes winners. Both male and female. Zenyatta always showed up. Always gave 110%. And found only one horse in 20 races that was able to beat her by 6 inches. A multiple G1 winning colt. On his home racetrack of Churchill Downs. Where he had always dominated other G1 winners. Zenyatta thundered home from 20+ lengths off of the pace that day. While Blame grabbed the rail and first run. Normally, Blame would’ve cruised home easily that day. But normally is not a word that can by used to describe Zenyatta. She’s far from being normal. Supernatural is a more befitting term, IMO. Both Zenyatta and Blame had fantastic 2010 seasons. But Blame was soundly beaten by Haynesfield in the 201 JCGC at Belmont. Zenyatta, beaten by 6 inches in the B.C. Classic. Against the toughest conventional dirt field assembled anywhere on the planet in 2010. I guess the point I’m trying to make here is that Blame was beaten far worse by far less that Zenyatta was in the Classic. It would’ve been an absolute travesty for the greatest race-mare in American racing history, and one of the greatest thoroughbred’s, male or female, ever in American racing, to have finished her career 20-19-1-0. A 2-time Breeders Cup champion in both Classic division’s. Missing by inches being a dual Classic winner, and never be recognized as American HOY. Congrats to all involved with team Zenyatta!!! A much deserved, and long overdue award. My God bless Zenyatta, the Moss’s, the Shireff’s, and Mike Smith!!

MiLady,
Haven’t been this excited or happy about a horse winning so major an award since ‘Slew’ won the Triple Crown! Tell Sophie that she is most definitely your lucky charm and a great cheerleader! Got to see Don Robinson and the Florida connections as well as Maverick Productions acknowledge as part of Team Zenyatta, they looked so proud and honored! I knew you blessed everyone that comes into contact with you or hear your name spoken into their lives, but now the world will see and remember ‘ZENYATTA’!!!!

Thank You Dottie, Thank you to your family for making my dreams come true and for the kind treatment you gave my son and I, you gave us the gift of Zenyatta, the gift of joy and the gift of smiles:). No one truly knows how much your family does to actually share the horses with us fans, or how sweet and fun you are, and how nice you are to strangers. I could have been an ax murderer but you treated me like gold at the Clement Hirsch, you are so gracious and real. You gave me the courage to go to the BC , to take the step forward , to learn to dance in my life, It was the best time of my life so far…and Zenyatta and your family gave this to me…no one knows what kind of hearts you truly have….But I know, and to pluck a stranger from 3000 miles away and bring them to see your horse and then have such a wonderfull weekend of racing and seeing her and meeting her and you and John ….I will live on the happiness of it the rest of my life, it was like meeting Secretariate. I kissed the best horse to ever race, I saw the best horse ever run in two races, I did not miss it, I did not sit back and let it pass me by, I learned to live life, I learned to “Dance” Thank You for showing me how x0x0x0x0 from Maine

Congradulations Zenyatta and to your entite team. As said by so many, so well deserved and long over due. You have been magnificent, we will never see another like you. “Thank you” does not seem to be enough for what you have given all of us who experianced such joy watching you.

Me: Yay!! Zenyatta won Horse of the Year!!!
Husband: Well, of course she did. Who else could have won? Didn’t she win all but one of her races?
Me: There were some people saying Blame should win.
Husband: Blame? Who’s that?
Me: The horse that won the Breeder’s Cup Classic and beat Zenyatta by less than a head.
Husband: So what?
Me: Exactly.
I’m so happy!! What a great day!! So well deserved. Just wish the Mosses had won Owner of the Year b/c that too was deserved, not only for the race record but also their grace and their demonstrating what true ownership is all about. But I try not to be greedy.
Ellen from Mariposa
Wow! I usually don’t put much stock in award shows, and kept telling myself it wouldn’t really matter how things sorted out this time either; but, Wow! It is so wonderful to realize enough people finally “Got it” to make the HOTY award Official! (Yeah, I cried too…)
Huge Congratulations to all at Team Zenyatta! You truly deserve all the awards you received tonight! Thank you for everything you have done with this amazing horse, and a special “Thank you” for letting her be “ours”, too!
I can’t find any more words tonight…
Much Love to all at Team Z and a big kiss on the nose for Zen (and anyone else who wants it)!

I’ll say it again — WOOO HOOO!!!!!!!!
I’m so glad you get to start your retirement and new career with the world knowing that YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!
I hope to come meet you in person this summer if visitors are still allowed. I just want to breathe some of your magnificence. You are truly special and unique and God bless your handlers for not treating you like “just a horse” because you’re not just a horse, you’re the Horse of the Year — maybe of the decade. You’re Lady Z and there will never be another like you . . . until your first foal grows up. I hope it will have your spirit and sense of humor.
Colleen Robbins
You’ll be dancing in your barn tonight sweet girl!! Job well done. I loved every minute of your racing career and I am so proud of you tonight. You are truly the Queen of racing. Enjoy the rest. I am looking ahead to hear all about your foals.
