Happy Sunday Morning,
I am so excited! A car is driving up the road…and I think it is my CA FAMILY.
I can’t wait to see everyone. I have so many things to tell them…and to share with them. They have not seen me in the paddock with my friends. I know they have met them in the barn area on their last visit, but they have not personally seen all of us out there playing and running together.
I also want them to see how fabulous my ‘winter coat’ looks and how I am adjusting so well to my new lifestyle.
In turn, I want a complete update on ALL of my BARN 55 friends and how they are doing.
I know JOHN will have tons of photos to share with all of you once he gets back to LA.
After our visit…my CA FAMILY will be off to FLORIDA for the ECLIPSE AWARDS. They take place on Monday night. You may watch them on TVG.
At this time, I personally want to thank all of you for all of your LOVE AND SUPPORT! PLEASE…keep your fingers crossed! I know one thing for sure, I know I could not be the horse I AM without the HELP and LOVE of so many people.
Like I said in yesterday’s DIARY…I AM SO PROUD TO KNOW ALL OF YOU!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL!
Z

As has been said many times before, Zenyatta, you are the horse of a lifetime. And we are the lucky ones, we are the proud ones, we are the joyous ones to be a part of that lifetime.

@Joan: Very well spoken, I totally agree.
Sooooooooooooooo True!!!!!!!
Z Girl, My fingers and toes are crossed, you so deserve HOTH. If for some crazy reason you don”t get it, in all of our hearts you are HOTH. Have fun with your family and show them how much fun you really are having with your friends in the paddock. Love you girl
Susan
You deserve HOY in 2010 because you won 5 grade 1’s, ran at 4 tracks on synthetic and dirt. You gave your rivals as much as 129 lbs and you lost the BCC by a short neck. Blame didn’t win as many Grade 1s, didn’t run on synthetic, didn’t travel to as many tracks and never carried as much weight and carried less weight when we faced Quality Road.
Then you connected with the public-not just racing fans but the public. They came to watch you, they read everything about you, you were recognized by every newspaper, magazine and blog as the best of racing. You brought excitement and fans to racing.
What a shame on racing if once again the voters turn away from you. While your fans will continue to engage with you and love you regardless, I will be embarrassed and angry for racing at yet another slap in the face of Team Zenyatta.
Every step, every decision, every moment was carefully planned. Thank you Team Zenyatta-you are deserving of every recognition and every accolade. Thousands of fans will be sitting next to you in Florida and thousands will be cheering for you.
Best of luck
Mary Check
Zenyatta – you will always be my Horse of the Year and Lifetime!

Zen, if I had hooves they would be crossed too!

Sweet Z–
I’m almost glad I don’t get TVG. I’m afraid the suspense would be unbearable. I cannot imagine the butterflies your human family is getting because they know deep down that YOU are the only valid choice for HOY. Love you always.

Ms Zenyatta, have fun with your CA family, bet John brought you alot of beer, help you relax when you choose your date. I will be watching TVG tomorrow night, I am sure you will win…you already have, Big, Beautiful, Smart, Sweet Lady. Please let John know that your little people are patiently and anxiously awaiting these photos and videos. I do not worry about you at all anymore, you have been sent into our lives special from God, to do so many things, and you are accomplishing it. God has given you the greatest adoptive partents in racehorse history, John and Dottie (they are amazing), Mario and Carmen, and not to mention the other friends that are in your life that we do not know about. You are perfect, just perfect. Hope you do win on TVG tomorrow, like I said, girlfriend, you have already won a million times over. Sweet dreams of carrots and peppermints, Love and Hugs Lisa g

We love you Z and family! Thanks for introducing me to horse racing Queen Z. I hope you win Horse of the Year. I don’t think anyone will remember who won the Breeder’s Cup Classic of 2010 in 10 years time, but they will remember you. My child even asked me to take her to see you on her Birthday! All best wishes from Texas. xx

Beautiful Zenyatta….I so agree with all your many, many fans that you are the Horse of the Year, hands down. There is no other that comes close and as Mike stated so perfectly, you are the horse of the decade. You are beyond special. I know there are more elegant words to describe you, but I can’t express it or mean it more sincerely than ‘beyond special’. Sweet dreams and I will be tuned in tomorrow evening, on the edge of my seat with anticipation.

Hi Queen Z
I know you are having a happy time with the Ca family! Like everyone else said, take lots of pics and maybe a video, we love seeing you visit with them, eat carrots, mints, and whinny with total glee when they are there. Also seeing the love in Mrs Moss face toward you is very touching, you are blessed with such an owner. And Mario, you can see the love you have for him and he for you. And Dottie of course, hope she got the new shoes, will have to send TVG an email to show us your shoes!! All the luck to you and yours Z tomorrow night, your fans are behind you 100%. Say hi to Mike for me.
About your foal when he or she comes into the world it will be worth millions. I hope the Moss’ do keep your little one, but I have the feeling that even his Royal Majesty Shiek Mo would have to dig deep into those deep pockets to buy your little one!!!
Well enough for today. Sleep tight and have happy thoughts, love you our horse of the Century! Love and nose kisses. Joyce.
Misty
Z…you are THE HOY to all of your fans!! I don’t think any other horse can even come CLOSE to being as great as you are!!! Love your kickin’ pic!! Soooo cute and adorable!!

Hi Zenny: I didn’t get a chance to respond to yesterday’s post, but I thought your suggestion was thoughtful and kind, and so very funny about Dottie’s new shoes. I am sure you had a great visit with your CA family. I bet John took lots of pictures. He is quite a talented photographer. Oh, by the way Zenny, we are all so proud to know you too. What an exciting trip it has been following your racing career, watching you do a little dance for us, and letting us fans come by Barn 55 to meet and greet you. There will never be another horse like you, ever! Good luck tomorrow night Zenny! I’ll be watching!! Love, Linda

Beautiful Z…..We are all so proud of you! No matter the outcome of the HOTY voting. You always have been and always will be the greatest to us!!!! They should make a Horse Of A Lifetime award for you :) I would like to thank all of your people for sharing you with your adoring public….especially after you have been retired from racing. It seems that most retirees are never seen or heard from again unless something has happened to them. I do so love your diary….as it’s really great keeping up with your daily routines, and learning about the “behind the scenes” stuff, and seeing how happy you are. I would also like to thank YOU for being such a wonderful, outgoing girl. You always make me smile no matter how I feel. I sure hope you will be allowed to have visits from fans someday; as it would be totally awesome to meet you!! Lotsa love and hugs from MD xoxoxo

OMG Z!!!!! I JUST GOT THE 2011 CALENDAR OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THERE IS A HUMAN HOLDING UP A SIGN THAT SAYS, “MARRY ME ZEN!” ON IT. ISN’T THAT SILLY? LOL!!! I DON’T THINK HE’S YOUR TYPE, BUT HE DOES LOOK A LITTLE LIKE MARIO. YOU HAVE THE BEST FANS!!!!
I LOVE YOU.
Carole Cole
YOU GO GIRL!!!
I will be waiting with baited breath to hear “and the winner is… QUEEN ZENYATTA!!1.. Whether broadcast on the air or not, YOU ARE THE HORSE OF THE YEAR! (But it would be fun if it were “official” :-).
Equally important…who have you chosen for your mate? That’s sooo exciting too!!! Wish it could be KingMambo….he is the grandfather of my horse, Greatest, who raced in S.Calif. and won at Hollywood Park. (He is my dressage horse now; 8 yrs. old) Guess who the jockey was…….GG. At the Breeder’s Cup I have to say I was not cheering for Garrett. I was cheering for you!!!! I traveled to Louisville for YOU! and will be back again to see you AND KINGMAMBO, AND FUNNYCIDE (at the Horsepark).
Sweet dreams to you and all those who support you. And MAY THE RACING GODS BE WITH YOU! :-)

Dear Jenna: Blame IS dear, and in a pic at bloodhorse.com he is rolling on a grassy autumn hillside with trees in the distance, and looks happy when he first retired. If he can always be appreciated and loved, not for awards he wins, but because someone cares for him, he is lucky. Thankfully, ‘Z,’ is already fortunate that way . .. [And thanks, RPK].

However, if you don’t win it, you and your Team, should not be discouraged for you’ll certainly will be immortalized forever as a member of the National Hall of Fame very soon, and that’s most important, for it cements your legacy!!!
God bless and Thanks.

Beautiful Zenyatta, You sound like an excited child who cannot wait to tell the family all you have learned and how much you like your new “school”. And I can just hear them telling you what a good girl you have been and how proud they are of you. There’s nothing quite so special as the love between family members so I know everyone included will have a wonderful day together. Tomorrow will take care of itself. And we will always love you.
