Happy Sunday Morning,
I am so excited! A car is driving up the road…and I think it is my CA FAMILY.
I can’t wait to see everyone. I have so many things to tell them…and to share with them. They have not seen me in the paddock with my friends. I know they have met them in the barn area on their last visit, but they have not personally seen all of us out there playing and running together.
I also want them to see how fabulous my ‘winter coat’ looks and how I am adjusting so well to my new lifestyle.
In turn, I want a complete update on ALL of my BARN 55 friends and how they are doing.
I know JOHN will have tons of photos to share with all of you once he gets back to LA.
After our visit…my CA FAMILY will be off to FLORIDA for the ECLIPSE AWARDS. They take place on Monday night. You may watch them on TVG.
At this time, I personally want to thank all of you for all of your LOVE AND SUPPORT! PLEASE…keep your fingers crossed! I know one thing for sure, I know I could not be the horse I AM without the HELP and LOVE of so many people.
Like I said in yesterday’s DIARY…I AM SO PROUD TO KNOW ALL OF YOU!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL!

Oh Precious Zenyatta…How I love you!! Enjoy your time with the Family. Give each other lots of hugs and kisses. Make sure that you post LOTS the pictures. Is the Family going to stop by again after the Eclipse Awards to show you all the trophies that you and the Team have won? I will be wearing my ZENYATTA gear and watching the Eclispe Awards on Monday. God Bless…Love YOU
GO TEAM ZENYATTA!!

What can I add to all the sentiments? Not much, except no matter what the results are tomorrow, you are beyond a doubt not only Horse of the Year but also one of the all-time Greats of the sport. Not only fast, but beautiful, kind, intelligent, loving and charismatic. And you and we have been blessed by a wonderful family of humans.

Best of luck tomorrow, and happy visiting today!
You look GREAT in every photo we see, and always look like you’re enjoying whatever you’re doing so much!
Hoping for some new video of your snowy paddock horseplay…plus may I suggest a paddock webcam page on this site!
How about adding a photo of your “love connection” Capone? And maybe a bit about his life? Would he happen to be grey and a few years older than you?
Jennifer Adelman
Dear Zenyatta, If you are not HOY then many, many people are going to have a problem with a differant winner. They will lose much credabilty with racing fans everywhere.
Enjoy your visit with your loved ones from barn 55.
Hugs!
Shay
Z, if you dont win HOTY, I will have lost all faith in horse racing!! You deserve it far more than Blame and if you should lose (which would be unfair on so many levels!!) I would hope it would be to the lovely Goldikova. You are so loved Zenyatta and we all wish you the best of luck!!

Today’s photo is fabulous. Can I order a copy of that photo? It shows you in all your regalness.

Enjoy your family reunion, with kisses and hugs and pats and treats and everything which delights your heart! I am sure that there wil be plenty of left-overs for your new gal friends, as well! You have won the people’s popular vote for Horse of the Year, and my own as well as so many other’s vote for Horse of a Lifetime! You will hear the applause all the way from Miami to Lane’s End when your name is announced tomorrow night!
Amanda
Can’t wait so see some new pictures and we need new video of you and your new friends playing! You are the best.

I have always been curious as to why Flores took off after 3 wins. That’s got to be a decision that will haunt him for the rest of his life.

Z – you and your family have so much catching up to do. Enjoy and treasure every minute of it. I’ve been thinking about you and the excitement of tomorrow night and you know what – YOU ARE THE HORSE OF THE DECADE. And that’s just the way it is. Best of luck to you, always. XOXOXO – Tricia

No matter what, Z…. you will always be Horse of the Year to me. I’m hoping you get to meet A. P. Indy. I met him up close a few years ago. He is quite a horse, and deserving of you, I think. Waiting on new video of you and your pasture mates romping in the snow.

Great news!!! Glad everyone is coming and today will be grand!
Hang in there Zen like Silky Sullivan would…although you already did that 20 times in a row!! You and Silky would have made a great pair!!!
Hi to all your visitors…everyone is waiting for the awards and it’s GREAT BIG NEWS !!!!!
Have fun running and enjoying who you are!! I love you..here under cloudy skies in Ky.

Dear Zenyatta: You are in today’s Sunday NYT! Like being on the front page of that prestigious paper, today’s recognition is no small privilege either. Joe Drape’s article “Horse of the Ages should be Horse of the Year,” which I gave the website for in #57, appears in the Sports section.
There is a photo of YOU and the farrier (I assume) perhaps taking off your right front shoe. You look particularly winsome due to your tongue sticking out (even though this habit might be stress related, as I learned from an earlier post). I’ll repeat the website here for those who might have missed it. Drape clearly thinks with an intelligent heart rather than with a dull mind. I must say, I got goose bumps reading the article, even though I’d read it yesterday.
I wish his two articles had come out b/f the vote for Horse of the Year occurred; perhaps what he wrote foretells good fortune tomorrow.
Much love and respect–Robbie
Here is the website again: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/16/sports/16drape.html

I agree with e everyone! No matter the results… You and your entire team are first class and by far the winners to all of us and the sport of racing! Much love

Have a wonderful time visiting with your CA family, Z!! Love you so much. No matter what happens tomorrow you will forever be in our hearts. I will be cheering for you and your connections. What you’ve done on so many levels far transcends any award that any humans could ever bestow upon you. You are Simply the Best!

Dear Z, What an honor to be recognized by the NYT as a superstar(we all knew that already). The article and the pictures were wondeful and a lovely tribute to our Queen. I know you’ll be so excited to see your family even though you have some new friends now. I wish everyone a safe trip to FL for the awards, then back to CA. I know there will be tears either way the awards go, but not to get the HOTY will devastate your many fans, and may have long term implications for racing(which has enough trouble). Best wishes to all!

Just when I think I can stop worrying about you, something new crops up! I read in Bloodhorse that they have discovered a virus that may be the cause of genital cancer in horses. The papillomavirus is identical to the one we humans get. I hope you make sure that everyone you are bred to is thoroughly check out before hand. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Dottie, would I have even noticed this article a year ago, much less be reading Bloodhorse? You are doing a wonderful service. Bless you and everyone involved. Zen, you WILL win tomorrow night. I am so happy that your family is visiting you before the big night. Did Mike ever come to visit you?

Hi Zenyatta, How exciting to see your CA family, they are so awesome!!!! No matter how the vote goes for HOY, you will be HOY in my heart forever!!! You are my “HOL” Horse of a Lifetime!!!! Enjoy your visit and hope to see pictures soon!!!
Catherine
Do your people in Barn 55 have you ‘under the lights’ like my people do here in Wisconsin. My people keep the light on in the barn till @10:00pm every night, to help my heat cycles. Hope you are HOTY! xoxo Legally Blonde HR (arab/quarter horse)

WOW a visit from the team,
How great that is. Every time you do something I head for the search button and learn more about all things horse. Your tail is telling us you are excited, Or trying to attract a mate lol…all the same I think.
can not wait till we hear you announced as HOTY. No matter what you are the most perfect creation for all of us here.

Good Luck Z!!! We know you should be the winner!!!Oh, but you have already won and so have your friends, fans and connections!
Wendy
I hope you get HOTY. You didn’t win the breeders cup this year, but you out ran Blame. He could not have one if he had the trip you had. He did nothing in that race, you just ran out of space. If people can’t see that, than I am very disappointed in racing. However, you have started something great. Uncle Mo has a facebook page now, and updates, and his owners are attempting to make him available as you were, and that is something to be proud of. You have opened up a new era in racing. One for the fans. Love you.
Wendy
Ooops, I meant Won, not one. lol

Zenyatta, have a wonderful visit with your CA family, we can’t wait for the pictures. Good luck tomorrow, we will be pulling for you, even though you won’t need it. You are not only HOTY you are the Horse of a Lifetime. Keep warm and stay safe, sending you warm Hugs and Kisses from CA XOXOXOXO.
We love you,
Jill
