Happy Sunday Morning,
I am so excited! A car is driving up the road…and I think it is my CA FAMILY.
I can’t wait to see everyone. I have so many things to tell them…and to share with them. They have not seen me in the paddock with my friends. I know they have met them in the barn area on their last visit, but they have not personally seen all of us out there playing and running together.
I also want them to see how fabulous my ‘winter coat’ looks and how I am adjusting so well to my new lifestyle.
In turn, I want a complete update on ALL of my BARN 55 friends and how they are doing.
I know JOHN will have tons of photos to share with all of you once he gets back to LA.
After our visit…my CA FAMILY will be off to FLORIDA for the ECLIPSE AWARDS. They take place on Monday night. You may watch them on TVG.
At this time, I personally want to thank all of you for all of your LOVE AND SUPPORT! PLEASE…keep your fingers crossed! I know one thing for sure, I know I could not be the horse I AM without the HELP and LOVE of so many people.
Like I said in yesterday’s DIARY…I AM SO PROUD TO KNOW ALL OF YOU!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL!
Z

Zenyatta, you are already “Horse of the Year” in all of our hearts, no matter what happens tonight. As I prayed on your last race, keep you Healthy and a Happy Life to you and your Team. Good Luck to you all.
Lindsey
Zenyatta you are the most awesome horse I’ve ever heard about! You are my biggest inspiration! No matter what anyone says, you already are the HOY in my book. Love you Z!
Astrid
Hey Zenny, your humans must be a tad nervous by now while you are unfazed, happily romping in the fields, tail high, leading your friends.
Whatever happens, nothing will ever change they way I feel about you and your team. You are the horse of a life time!
I wrote a note of best wishes to Blame as well – as a former athlete this was important to me – you acknowledge and respect your opponents:) but know that you will always my HOTY and that of your many fans!
Run like the wind every day like, stay happy and healthy and munch your carrots and mints and sweet potatoes – that’s all what matters in the end. I wished all horses, no all animals, are as cherished and loved as you are and you deserve every bit of it! xoxo

Zenyatta, I know you were so excited to see your CA family. They are the best. Can’t wait until tonight to see you get Horse of the Year. We can’t wait. Good Luck to Team Z. Hugs to all.

Thank you again for keeping us updated, beautiful Zen! You are Horse of the Decade and more!

Z! I like so many others are cheering you on for HOTY! In my heart you are most certainly already the winner. Thank you to you and your entire family and friends for sharing you with us :)

You are the most deserving of The Horse of the Year. I so want it for you. I do, however, know that because you are a horse you do not know what it is and so you do not care. I want it for your people. For you, all I want is what you will have: green grass, a warm stall, clean water and enough feed, and people who care lovingly for you. Here is to Horse of the Year and here is to THE QUEEN who is above all that silliness.

Z — today’s a day — but I’m superstitious so i won’t say “—–the day”. For you and us, everyday is the day! Thank you — fingers crossed.

i watched tvg last night. they showed the bc race. nobody thinks she deserves this award more than me but the fact is shes probably not going to win. that will make all of us a many others sad. these people that vote are idiots. they dont want her to win. im not sure why. i was in this business for a long time. the people at the top dont care about the little guy. im going to say this because i know its true. when you go to the races any day you pick most of these beautiful animals are druged. i cant go anymore its to hard on me. the big auctions that go on with biggest sales are a joke. the owners are being cheated out of millions. the owner of racheal can tell us all about the scams that go on. he knows. i could tell you stores that would make you sick about trainers like lukas and baffert and others big names. if theres a hell there going there. i love you Z will all my heart. nothing will ever change that. you and your people will go in the history books.

Love to all,
Leslie

“Nuts!” His note returned with one word, but the enemy didn`t understand. General Anthony McAuliffe was offered the release of his officers at Bastogne, WWII ‘The Battle of the Bulge.’ They could walk away from the siege, giving up the surrounded 101 Airborne troops. ‘Anyone that eloquent deserves to be rescued,’ George Patton is alleged to have said; and they were rescued. ~ The world turns on the least of gestures some days, so with tonight`s Eclipse Awards results, as winners, Churchill would encourage we embrace those who lost; if passed over, if we stand as brilliantly in defeat as the mare we adore, we honor her. Some expect of Zenyatta`s fans ‘a backlash of rage,’ should Blame win Horse of the Year. That would be well beside the point, and quite beneath her legacy and legend. Selah.

It’s silly really Z. The importance people place on an award. What matters is not the trophy that collects dust, but the memories you have created for us. You have captured the imagination of young and old alike. If we had collectively tried to make the perfect horse, it would look and act like you-a gentle dancing giant of a horse with a heart of gold that can pass all others with ears pricked. Sounds unbelievable but you made it true. It’s sad that some people cannot understand your brilliance. They perhaps are those who see everything in black or white. You are all the colors of the rainbow and more- That extra special something that only comes around once or twice in a lifetime. I am so thankful everyone around you allow us into your life so the story can continue. I hope you win the award, for you & everyone who loves you. I can’t wait for the next chapter of your life…motherhood. If people are excited about an award, just think of the excitement the birth of a baby foal will bring!
Marilyn
I live in the Los Angeles area and the paper says the awards are carried on PRIME and doesn’t mention TVG. Does anyone in the area know if the awards are carried both on PRIME or TVG or, maybe, both? What an exciting, nail biting day. I hope Zenyatta and Team Z win in every nominated category. Now only a few more hours to wait. Thank you.
Liz
You are one of the very best of all time Zenyatta. You know you really beat Blame. And you certainly showed the world that you are not just a very good horse, but one of those rare super horses that people are lucky to see just once in their lifetime. That we have is a blessing but also a bit tough because we know we aren’t likely to see another race horse like you again, not in this lifetime. That sort of thing can be hard on some people and I think for some that they find it easier just to close their eyes.
Vicki B.
@Marilyn, according to my L.A. TWC Cable guide, both PRIME and TVG have the Eclipse Awards from 4 to 7 pm, but only TVG has the Pre-show from 3-4 pm. Good Luck to us all!

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, I know you had a wonderful visit with your Ca friends. I wish them all a great trip to Fla. Can’t wait for the results. I love you, Zenyatta! Hugs & Kisses from Alabama, Amanda

Hello Beautiful Girl,
I just checked The Blood-Horse to check on the awards – seems we have to wait til 9:40pm for the decision. HOY or not, you are Horse of a Lifetime and a National Treasure! I’m in your corner all the way – regardless of the outcome.
Love,
NancyP

Queen, I have a $2 voucher and program from all 20 of your races framed. I will never sell it but, rather, treasure it the rest of my life. Hope I get to see you this summer when I take a tour of Lane’s End Farms. Will bring 3 rolls of film. Good Luck, Mama-To-Be.
Richard
Congratulations to Zenyatta and all our care takers

Watched the Eclypse awards. It was such a relief for you to win I couldn’t help but cry. It would have been a travesty if you hadn’t won. I don’t know what more you could have done. I hope I can see you sometime.

Zenyatta, I love you. I live in Ocala and you were trained just around the corner from me at Mayberry/Plumley. I want you to be happy in retirement and enjoy your children. God Bless the Moss’s. They truly love you as I love mine.
There is NO greater than you. I grin each time I say your name. Girl, be sweet.

Did anyone happen to notice in those pictures of you in motion, you are smiling? Stands to reason since you obviously really love to run. Thrilled at the outcome of the Eclipse ceremonies last night. You and “Team Zenyatta” deserve all the praise and then some. Thank you for giving your fans and the horse racing community thrill of seeing you in action. Have a wonderful future. So when is the movie coming out? I’ll be the first one in line for a ticket.
