Good Morning,
I am having a great deal of fun! Joe Drape, who writes for the NY TIMES, came to visit and did a wonderful article (Z in NY Times) about me for his paper. The photos are outstanding…if I say so myself. There is one showing my friends and I running in the paddock. (I’m in FRONT! Too cute!) WE are having a blast running in the snow and playing together each day!
Please enjoy the photos and the piece. JOE DID A GREAT JOB! He did an update on some of my recent ‘teasing’ activities. Also, as referenced in the article, I have had all of my proper vet checks…and I am a real ‘girly girl’…with all of my body parts in good-working order. In these photos, I think I look terrific…even though they say I’ve gained a bit of weight! Good thing I’ve got a nice, strong frame to carry it off so well!
Also, this is too cute! A travel agency has called the FARM and wanted to know if they could put me on ‘their tour list…as one of THINGS TO SEE WHILE IN KY’. I guess they think LOTS of people would like to come and see me! (I gotta’ love my fans. This is absolutely adorable and made my day!) I’m not sure how this could happen as the roads at the farm aren’t big enough to handle big tour buses…but I could not be more flattered!
Yesterday, Steve Haskin, his wife, Joan, and Lenny Shulman came to visit. I gather Steve and Joan were here on a business trip from their home base in New Jersey. It was great to see them! I’ve known Steve and Lenny (both write for THE BLOODHORSE Magazine) since I was just starting out on my racing career. They have been dear friends for years now! I am so fortunate to have so many dear FANS and FRIENDS!
Just a few days now until my CA FAMILY comes to visit. They will be so excited to see how well I’m doing with all of my new friends. I can’t wait!!!!!!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL!

Hi Queen Z!
Have a wonderful visit with your Calif family!!! I saw you getting your nails done preparing for family and Capone!
Smart Strike or Curlin(at least he has the funds to date you, 10Mil) would be my choice for your first date. The Smart Strike line with your Street Cry breeding would be a wonderful cross. Of course if they get any faster than you Mike Smith will need a pilots license (and seat belts)!!!
I am prepared for the Eclipse awards, carrot cake is baking and Guiness is cooling in the fridge!!You are Horse of the Decade!!!Will watch on TVG starting at 6PM ET on Monday night. Doesn’t matter what happens Queen Z you are our horse of a Lifetime. I’ve lived to see Secretarit, Personal Ensign, Ruffian, Seattle Slew. But you dear Queen are better than they were.
Love and nose kisses. Joyce

Hi princess Z.I would just like to
put my vote in for a.p.Indy as your first baby daddy. I have his grandson jersey moon who also retired from racing this past year. Mr.Indy does not disapoint.Jersey is a handsome and tough horse.Best wishes for horse of the year!

Great article in NYT, Zen! THE EARLIER WEB CAM IDEA IS FANTASTIC!! THE SHIBA INU PUPS AND THE BABY OWLS HAVE BEEN INTERNET SENSATIONS, WITH NO IMPACT ON THE ANIMALS!!
Have a wonderful, loving time with the family tomorrow, Sweet Zenyatta.

Cam…my point to Mary was that stallion owners do offer free breedings to great mares. And as I said I’m sure the Moss family had many offers for Zen. With a mare like Zen they wouldn’t take a chance on an unproven stallion. In Quarter Horses a great mare can have an embryo transfer placed in a surrogate mare and still continue their career. The cost are high but for really good mares it is an option.
Storm Cat’s fee to Quarter mares may have been advertised at $20,000 but a few were bred for $15,000.

P.S. 59,307 FRIENDS ON FACEBOOK AND COUNTING!! YOU GO, GIRL. ROCK ON.

Hi Z, Z you will never guess what wearing your Zenyatta shirt helped happen. I was just watching my favorite football team and at half time we were losing so I pulled my Zenyatta tee shirt on under my team shirt. I believed it would bring us your strength and courage. I was correct we won a very close tough game. I believe you will win a tough fight of your own this coming Monday night. I will have both shirts on again for you. My team will bring you the extra edge to win horse of the year. with all my love

@Joyce
Street Sense has Street Cry as his Sire like Zengages
In the Thoroughbred world the are not 1/2 sister and brother
but they are genetically. Not a good choice for her.
Sweet dream Queen Z. Lots of talk about the facts
of your 2010 career on HRTV which is better than Blames
He raced in two Grade 3 awns lost by 4 lengths in Jockey
Club Gold to Hanesfield. You 2010 was 5 grade 1 stakes
Wins much better year. Your loss will go down in history
as the greatest effort with a photo finish. Looking forward
to watching Eclipse on Monday night.
Waiting for Zenlin or Curlatta
Just as we all want Zen to be HOY, we want CURLIN to be Zen’s boyfriend. Please don’t disappoint us, both at the Eclipse Awards and with your announcement of mate.

I hope they work out a plan where your fans can come to Kentucky to see you.
Melissa
Well, Lane’s End should make the roads bigger to get the busses in to see you. You would be the most visited thoroughbred in history.
