Good Morning,
Today is a big THANK YOU DAY!
Look at the beautiful sky! The France family sent this photo to John and Dottie. They commented in the note…when first seeing this sky, they thought of ME! To quote Barb…”we spotted this ‘Z’ between Mt. Baker and The Sisters very early one morning last week. FIRST THOUGHT WAS… ZENYATTA!” This is so sweet! The sky looks amazing…and the BIG Z…is a WOW! Thank you for thinking of me!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUE! May this be a healthy, joyful, and blessed year for you. I guess this January birthday thing is really popular. My horse friends and I all had a great celebration on January 1st. Enjoy your day!
I do want to extend a BIG THANK YOU to Shari Voltz’ 5th grade class in Ohio. The gifts and goodies you sent me are so appreciated. I know Sarah sent you a note…but I wanted to do so as well. I hope that all of these students are having a good time learning different things from me. This is the third class I have heard from…one from the East Coast….and another from the San Francisco area. You know how much I love children…so this means a great deal to me!
Additionally, THANK YOU for the kind comments about TEAM Z and THE SPECIAL ECLIPSE AWARD they are being honored with this year! My TEAM is so excited…and deeply honored. It has been an amazing 4 1/2 years…my time at Barn 55. I am so proud our INDUSTRY is recognizing MY TEAM for their effort, hard work and achievement.
The Awards are on January 17th in Florida. I know LOTS of photos will be shown of me that night. My friends and I will be watching from our comfy stalls at Lane’s End. Let’s hope it is a night for Carrot Cake and Guinness for ALL! We are keeping our hooves crossed…for sure!
Lastly, I know I’ve said it before…but I truly want to say THANK YOU again to ALL OF MY FANS! Your support, love, kindness, notes, photos, gifts, and hugs have really helped me to feel SPECIAL! I know how much I deeply appreciate your thoughtfulness…and my entire team feels exactly the same way! It really has been a TEAM EFFORT…AND THAT TEAM INCLUDES EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU! WHAT A TIME WE HAVE ALL SHARED TOGETHER!
Dottie has a dear friend, JOY, who is extremely artistic! Joy commented to her one afternoon…”I have always felt the memories I have in my life are truly MY BEST PAINTINGS!”
With this thought in mind, I hope that in some way my time at Barn 55 has helped you to add some ‘beautiful paintings’ to your life!
With Love,
Hugs to All,
Z

The Eclipse Awards are on my birthday this year!! :D The one thing I want more than anything for my birthday, is for YOU, Zenyatta, to be named the rightful Horse Of The Year!!
Roseann
God bless you all!
Susan Ladmer
Zenyatta, you too deserve a lot of the credit for your team’s special Eclipse reward. Your gentleness and interest in your visitors allowed them to share you with the public in a way that would have been impossible with a more aggressive or fearful race horse. Your wonderful manners and unquestionable high class surely made you a vibrant part of that well deserved award.
Sue
Good morning BEAUTIFUL LADY!! What an icon you’ve become; a soul & source to befriend in ALL TIMES.. good & bad; 24/7. Whether you want it or not, you’ve become a virtual part of our lives; as vital as bread & water, yet our gratitude will always be understated & insufficient!! Your gentleness, kindness & love symbolize what us human beings so lack, yet desperately need..we want what you are!!!
Re HOTY it would be inconceivable if you’re not ‘honored’ with the title. But if that is the case it just negates the value of the title & we’ll continue to idolize you either way…for you ARE the tops!! I, too, while watching the BC race was in horror, thinking something drastic had gone wrong …you were soooo far behind! And then it HAPPENED. UNBELIEVABLE… to watch as you went into gear’, wove thru traffic, & , while your pace was faster, not quite met the mark in time!! To BLOW AWAY all the others, who were in ‘their hi-gear, was THE TESTAMENT to your GREATNESS..no more no less.
Thank you, sweetness. XXXOOO Sue

What a wonderful photo, just so speical. Z from the frist time you step on the track, barn 55 was always in thought. I think back to when Gacamo won the KYD, and alot of people doubt it, I knew he would do it just like I knew from that very first time I saw you I knew there was something speical was about to happen. And what greatness did take place, you were and still are unbelievable. I think John is one heck of a trainer, his kind sprit makes it a joy to watch his horses run, there are a few trainers I will not name that just do not have the fan friendly persona like John. Barn 55 is without a doubt on the tops with people, they have done so much to welcome us all. I will love the time I and others got to spend a little bit of time with you will stay with me the rest of my life, with that being said I would like to thank Steve as well a true gentlmen like no other I have met in this biz, and to Mike Smith one of the most fan friendly Jockeys you will ever meet. Again thanks Z for another wonderful post, and to Dottie for helping you out with the post. And Ron and Barb thank you for sharing a truly speical photo.
Stephanie
Was not able to check your postings for a few days and am now caught up. I read your postings with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. Z, you are “Horse of a Lifetime”! Best wishes for Horse of the Year, too. The Z team is amazing and thank you for sharing with us!
Susan
I was disappointed in 2008, 2009 and hope that for 2010 the voters get it right and award you and Team Zenyatta HOY. You deserve it, you earned it and it will be sad for racing if they let politics cloud their judgement.
Kristoffer Nielsen
Zenyatta you are beyond any human votes–the sky declares your name!

LOL speaking of “paintings” I can’t seem to stop buying prints of our dear girl….there are so many talented artists out there that now I have enough Zenyatta prints to fill my entire apartment! Glad to hear the school kids are learning so much…I would have been in heaven had this kind of info been available when I was young. Great work Team Z!

Zenyatta, I hear Oaklawn will giving out bobblehead dolls of you on Jan.17. That is as good a reason as any to travel to Oaklawn!! But I have to watch TVG as the voters crown you HOY!! The apples, carrots and Guiness will flow after the announcment! Good luck special lady, you deserve the award.

Happy Playoff day, Zenny! Up here in Seattle, we’re making that last hawk effort, so hope we can conjure up the kind of magic you did on the track! Enjoy the snow, your goodies and your pals at Lane’s End! That’s great about the school kids learning about you – I’ve learned quite a bit from you, too! Thank you! Lotsa love, Jan

Dear Z,
Beautiful photo. Thank you and your team for posting the pictures of you as a foal and of your parents. You look absolutely adorable and at the same time, those long legs hinted at the elegance to come. I had seen photos of Street Cry before, but never photos of your Mom. She is a beauty and I can see where you get your beautiful looks. Thank you again. Love to you.
Robyn Mullhausen
That is a beautiful photo with the huge “Z” in the sky. That is how you are in each of our hearts too. Zenny, I hope someday I can make it from Maryland to see you. You are on my “Bucket List”. Some of my favorite photos of you are now scrolling by on my desktop courtesy of the wonderful people who have shared them with me.

Hi sweetness, all God is saying is “if they don’t give you their stuffy little earthly award it doesn’t matter because you have already won the highest award there is…from Me! I created you and I couldn’t be more proud of you my beautiful, kind, perfect Zenyatta!
God and I love you more and more and more every day:) XOXOXOXOXO

Zenyatta, the “Z” in the sky is God’s sign that he is watching over you!
I live a few miles south of Blaine where this photo was taken. Its exciting to hear from other WA state Zenyatta fans. I am so excited, and so nervous for the HOY announcement. Zenyatta, I am praying so much for you to win that award. Zenyatta, you have caused me so much nervousness the past couple years! Hugs and Prayers
Pam
A “Z” in the sky — could it be a sign? Beautiful photo in any case! I will be watching the awards show on Jan. 17, thinking of you and your horsey friends all with your hooves crossed. I’m sending lots of good karma your way so you can break out the carrot cake and Guinness and celebrate!
Rose
They talk about signs in the sky and heavens and we know why, God gave you life, and through your owners and wonderful people we get to be near you beautiful Zenyatta..
I was shocked to get a suprise in the mail and I looked at your beautiful face and cried, because of love, for the most wonderful horse I have ever known.
May GOD bless you and all of your human companions as I have been blessed by your presence.
Stephanie Lambert
God is voting for you xoxoxo

The sky is in “Z” formation in your honor Zenyatta. This is a sign of more good things to come as in HOTY. May your coronation be on January 17. Thanks to the France family of Blaine, WA for sharing this spectacular photo. I too am from WA state (North Seattle) and a proud fan of Queen Z. Zenny, memories of your exciting horseracing days have been the “paintings” of my life and I’m sure that you will further add to my collection of memorable “Z” paintings as you live in retirement and be a loving, beautiful broodmare. Best of luck on the HOY Award. I wish you good health and long life.
Mary
Dearest Zenyatta,
You just never stop touching my heart, you are the Champion here and we are so proud of you and everything you have done.
The picture is beautiful and I would have thought of you had I seen the Z in the sky. I have pictures of you everywhere and they just keep coming, thank God cuz I use to take my own at the race track and I am so glad to be able to see the ones other people have taken and shared with us.
I thought I was your biggest fan til this diary started…lol…
I wonder if anyone even reads all the comments we leave. It really doesn’t matter, just keep writting us we love hearing from you.
