Good Morning,
Today is a big THANK YOU DAY!
Look at the beautiful sky! The France family sent this photo to John and Dottie. They commented in the note…when first seeing this sky, they thought of ME! To quote Barb…”we spotted this ‘Z’ between Mt. Baker and The Sisters very early one morning last week. FIRST THOUGHT WAS… ZENYATTA!” This is so sweet! The sky looks amazing…and the BIG Z…is a WOW! Thank you for thinking of me!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUE! May this be a healthy, joyful, and blessed year for you. I guess this January birthday thing is really popular. My horse friends and I all had a great celebration on January 1st. Enjoy your day!
I do want to extend a BIG THANK YOU to Shari Voltz’ 5th grade class in Ohio. The gifts and goodies you sent me are so appreciated. I know Sarah sent you a note…but I wanted to do so as well. I hope that all of these students are having a good time learning different things from me. This is the third class I have heard from…one from the East Coast….and another from the San Francisco area. You know how much I love children…so this means a great deal to me!
Additionally, THANK YOU for the kind comments about TEAM Z and THE SPECIAL ECLIPSE AWARD they are being honored with this year! My TEAM is so excited…and deeply honored. It has been an amazing 4 1/2 years…my time at Barn 55. I am so proud our INDUSTRY is recognizing MY TEAM for their effort, hard work and achievement.
The Awards are on January 17th in Florida. I know LOTS of photos will be shown of me that night. My friends and I will be watching from our comfy stalls at Lane’s End. Let’s hope it is a night for Carrot Cake and Guinness for ALL! We are keeping our hooves crossed…for sure!
Lastly, I know I’ve said it before…but I truly want to say THANK YOU again to ALL OF MY FANS! Your support, love, kindness, notes, photos, gifts, and hugs have really helped me to feel SPECIAL! I know how much I deeply appreciate your thoughtfulness…and my entire team feels exactly the same way! It really has been a TEAM EFFORT…AND THAT TEAM INCLUDES EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU! WHAT A TIME WE HAVE ALL SHARED TOGETHER!
Dottie has a dear friend, JOY, who is extremely artistic! Joy commented to her one afternoon…”I have always felt the memories I have in my life are truly MY BEST PAINTINGS!”
With this thought in mind, I hope that in some way my time at Barn 55 has helped you to add some ‘beautiful paintings’ to your life!
With Love,
Hugs to All,
Z

Z – You have given us some great memories.
I was supposed to come see you in the 2009 Breeders’ Cup but my Mother died suddenly and I had to cancel my trip. It was doubly devastating losing her and thinking I would never get to see you. Then you came back and raced in 2010 and I got to see you at Oaklawn and Churchill Downs. Both events were truly Bucket List moments for me and my sister-in-law. We both love you and watched most of your races together. I felt like my Mother must have worked it out with the man upstairs for me to get to see you in person because it is a memory I will alway cherish.

Z Girl,
Z sky is Z limit! At least it was for you. Every time I watched you race, especially in the 2009 BC Classic, when you came down the stretch, it looked as though you were ready to sprout those Pegasus wings and take off. You were never looking straight ahead with ears pinned back like a mortal race horse; you were looking to go somehwere where equines and their human fans had never gone before. Mamma Z you are HOC! If the politics fail you for HOY,the industry, has committed a crime that will later be acknowleged as such. 20-19-1-0 says it all, especially in light of your running style. Voters considering others have never seen you race in person, but those of us who have know greatness … we were there! Nothing more to say.

Wow, Zen. That Z in the sky is a reminder to all of us that you are sent from God. He gave you to the right people to love you and train you. God is good! Love you Z xxxooo
Vicki Riechers
My memories of you Zenyatta rival Michael Angelo. God painted the sky with a “A” because you have been a gift from God for all us!
Vickie
WOW – what an incredible shot! Thanks for sharing! Hoping you are doing well! Much love and hugs from California- MISS YOU Z!

I love the Z in the sky. It’s just great. Thanks for sharing and thanks for taking time to write this Zenyatta Diary post. I love to read them every day.
Kim Noble
What a gorgeous pic! Thank everyone involved for sharing it with all of us.Apparently somebody, somewhere is casting a very big vote for you to be HOTY. If it was up to the fans you would win hands down. You are loved more than you can possibly know.
marsha roliardi
zenyatta, following you on your website is the highlight of my day. you are so sweet and special. i love to watch you enjoy the outdoors and the snow. i hope you are truly enjoying what is going on now without racing. it seems that you can adapt to any situation. so happy that you are safe and sound and will soon be a mom. all our love to you and team z and everyone involved at lane’s end. hope to see you soon!!! much love and hugs back at you marsha & joe

I think we should all wear Zenyatta colors on the 17th! We could start a new fashion trend while supporting the Queen,

That IS a great Z sky!! I didn’t hear until now about the special Eclipse award for Team Z-That is Excellent! I am praying for Z to get HOTY. I can’t imagine the winner of 19 consecutive races, all-time leading female money earner, and the ONLY filly to ever win the BC Classic not ever getting HOTY. That is unacceptable! Seriously! And that’s not even taking in consideration that she is the all-around BEST horse ever-so much that she makes everybody cry :)because we all love and admire her so much. Go Z, we’re all pulling for you for HOTY!!
Lou from TX
Queen Z, we all love you soo much. Your Team Z has been so nice to include your fans in your daily activities. The “Z cloud” is beautiful just like you. I to will be keeping everything crossed for the 17th, but if you don’t get HOY it won’t matter because you will always be Horse of the Decade to your fans. We don’t need awards to love you. I wish I could see one of the pictures you painted. I bet it’s as beautiful as the the sky Z if not more so. Isn’t it wonderful that you have all the children adoring you. You set such a great example for them. If they follow in your hoof steps, they can’t fail in life. Dottie I don’t think you’ll ever fully realize how much these daily diary notes mean to her fans. No one has ever been so nice as to keep their fans connected to their favorite horse. I know the Jackson’s found out how much Barbaro was loved when he was fighting for his life and have been kind enough to do alot for his FOB’s since his passing. But you have let us really be apart of Zenyatta’s life after the racing was over. God Bless you for what you’re doing. Congratulations to the Team Z for their special award. No one is more deserving. Lots of hugs and kisses to you Queen Z.

Zenyatta in the sky with diamonds!! How magically this extraordinary photo is courtesy of the Ron and Barb France. I think we’ll all be looking to the morning and evening skies for future signs to share with you and Team Z!! Thank you for sharing the wisdom of Dottie’s friend Joy about memories in her life being her best paintings…a wonderful touchstone for us all to carry with us.
Maria
There is only one horse that truly deserved the HOY for 2010 and that horse is ZENYATTA!

A picture IS worth a thousand words.

Zenyatta honey if you want to see some fantastic sunsets you can come here and visit me in Hooper Utah in the summer and fall! I swear the sunsets are what keep me on this property otherwise I would be off to Montana!! Love you so much girl, you are my baby girl. Be Safe with your own self = you have it all figured out I am sure. Cheryl

Queen Z, you have so enriched my life and that of my family. It’s no wonder that God paints your name in the sky–He knows how much you are loved!
Have a beautiful day with your friends!
Love and kisses,

Zenny – My whole family has our fingers crossed for you for HOTY (the two collies have paws crossed)! But if you don’t get it, it really doesn’t matter to your fans or to “the legend of zenyatta!” I hope the Mosses and Team Z would not be heartbroken. p.s. Someday when you are looking for a diary topic, please tell us everything you know about your sister Ebluissante (spelling?). I think she is a two year old now (or did she just turn 3?) and I have read a couple things saying that John will be her trainer. Thanks!
Eve
We live in Alabama, and when we drink a Guinness, we refer to it as a Zenyatta rather than a Guinness. You are appreciated in so many states. Thanks!
Cheryl Smith
You are one of God’s most special creations and he put that Z in the sky just for you!
maryjanegallucci
you are the best looking horse out there and the greatest i hope you have a little one just like you

Hi Zenny: I forgot to tell you that I have a beautiful painting of a memory of you at the Del Mar this past summer. You were the 5th horse to come from the paddock. I was standing along the fence as you came around the corner lending towards the track. There was something so magical about you. I’ll never forget it.
Heather Myers
Zenyatta, you have painted me a lifetime of joy. Watching you run and knowing you through your diary is a blessing each day. I am not a person who becomes infatuated with heros, but I surely have become infatuated with you. In my 73 years, YOU are my true hero! Bless you and your Team for making this possible.
Gloria Jeanne
Zen- I hope you are not robbed again of another HOY award. Everyone on this site should watch TVG on Monday the 17th.
Mary McQuire
I look forward to seeing pictures of you with you now 3 friends!

Goood morning, Z and Dottie.
Keep warm down there. It’s snowing where I am but I heard it’s quite cold in KY.
Happy Saturday. Looking forward to your update tonight.
Take care, Z, and have a wonderful day. Thank you, Dottie for your wonderful posts.

Morning Zenyatta~!!!!
The picture of the sky is beautiful. God it thinking about you!
I have a comment to post about the Eclipse Awards. I feel so passionate about this.
Horse of the Year should be the ” Most Spectacular Horse of the Year.” Undoubtly that is ZENYATTA. There is no comparison to her. Winning the BC certainly does NOT make you Horse of the Year, if it did, Zenyatta would have been HOTY last year. Not only did she win the Breeders Cup, she was the FIRST FEMALE to ever win …it.
So how can any of the voters even think of voting for any other horse???
To do so will place Horse Racing Back 100 years!
Above is my feelings for the Voters of the award.
If they vote honestly and not politically they have to vote for you~!!
God Bless you Zenyatta~
I love you ~
OraJean Stevenson
Dearest Queen-Z & Team-Z, You have filled my memories with the most beautiful paintings !! Thank-you all; I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life. Fondly, OraJean
