Hello Everyone!
What a lucky horse I am! Yesterday I was busy writing a piece for THE BLOODHORSE Magazine (Commemorative Issue) coming out soon. I think I did a pretty good job! Dottie helped me. We submitted some of my baby photos and photos John had from when I was 2 at Mayberry Farm and when I first arrived here at John’s Hollywood Park barn.
The fans have been wonderful. Each day, groups are arriving to see me and I LOVE IT! Everyone has been so, so kind. Earlier in the week, I received a gorgeous floral arrangement….and then today there was Guinness, carrots and so many other goodies. I get to greet everyone and pose for pictures with so many wonderful people.
YIPPEE! LOOK AT THIS! John is just walking out here with some more gifts from fans. The CERAMI FAMILY sent me flowers and a goodie basket. He also has a BASKET OF EATIBLE TREATS which was sent from ADRIENNE AND ERIC GOFFNETT from MI. This is amazing!
I have said it often…but I truly can’t THANK ALL OF YOU enough for your kindness and love. I have been blessed to have so many wonderful, wonderful friends.
I’m doing fabulously. I’m relaxing and having fun each day! Lucky me!
Hugs to you all…and we’ll keep in touch.

Beautiful Zenyatta, I can’t believe I was blessed to have seen another GREAT horse in my lifetime. That it’s a mare is one of the best of all thrills. You are loved whether you race again or are bred to a very fortunate stallion! Thank you, team for all you’ve done for thoroughbred racing!
Snoprinz
Hi Zenyatta! Thanks for this latest post. I am so glad that you continue to update us on the goings-on in your life. I’m looking forward to the comemorative issue of the Bloodhorse Magazine where I can find your baby photos. That will be a treat.
I am interested in your other activities like contributions to organizations that benefit retired racehorses. I also like the idea of donating to an equine rescue group in your name as previously posted by a fan.

Ms. Zenyatta, thank you for the update, it sounds like you are just having a wonderful time. I wish I still lived there, I would come by to see you everyday. I will get a copy of the magazine when it comes out…your baby pics, cannot wait. Good night, Special Lady. Lisa g

Hi Zenny! Thank you and Dottie (for her help) for the updates. They mean so much to us. If your family decides it’s time for you to stop racing, I sure hope they keep you in California. I can tell Ann loves you so much. I know she will be able to visit you and oversee your care much easier if you are in California.
I sure hope we get diary updates if you retire! Either way, we all love you!! Goodness, I must say that you proved all the doubters wrong by what you did in the Classic! Even I was stunned! How you made up all that ground, encountered all the traffic, breezed past some of the most talented colts in training and zoned yourself onto Blame–AND CAUGHT HIM! I have said time and again, the only horse I can think of that’s capable of what you did is Secretariat. You are one hell of a horse Zenyatta! I’m so grateful to have witnessed your career in my lifetime!
Anita Carville
I’m glad you’re happy, Zenny. I want to come and see you soon before you go to Kentucky. I can’t wait to meet you. God bless you and all your team. i love you.
Leslie
Thanks for the update! I’m looking forward to the special Zenyatta issue of Bloodhorse magazine. I bet you were an adorable baby.
I’m glad you are doing well and enjoying the good life. You deserve it!
Love,

I hope to see alot of pictures of you on tee-shirsts and wall pictures. Your a great mare. I think you should win Horse of The year because you competed in races against the boys that females don’t run. And you won 19 races. Also I think it is great you show us how happy you are. Dancing and prancing all around before you would run in one of your big races. Enjoy you new life in retirement and your new family to come.

Dear Zen,
It’s good to hear you are enjoying the good life at home. You have certainly earned all the accolades and treats!
As with many others, I am wondering how one goes about meeting you at Hollywood Park… I would love to thank you personally for being such a wonderful horse, and I wish I could just drop by every day on a whim, hoping it would be convenient; but I live a few hours away and would have to know when you are receiving visitors before taking time off and planning the trip… Yes, I expect I’d survive never having a chance to pet your muzzle, but Please do let us fans know what the appropriate approach is to being granted a royal audience…
Thank you! Much Love, Ellen

Your greatness will not soon be forgotten Your zest for life and the playfulness you display will stay with you for all eternity. You have given so much joy to all of your supporters. I wish you will be able to pass on all of these fine qualities to your foals. The heavens smile on you Beloved Zenyatta

Zenytatta – the super-star….you know “Secretariat” the movie is doing very well at the box office – I think Jerry and Ann should have a “Zenyatta” movie made – it would break ALL box office records.
They could film it using YOU, as to find a double for you would be impossible – you are too unique – where are they going to find a 17’2″ mare?:) They could use all your thrilling footage from your 20 races!
I live in Canada – I would so love to come to see you.Don’t drink too much Guinness girl (bad for the figure) LOL :)
Linda Robb
I spelled Zenyatta wrong in the first post – but it looks kind of cute anyhow
“Zenytatta” :) …sorry girl
Please ask Ann to put out a line of pink and teal t-shirts and hats we could buy – all the place were sold out of all “Zen”
merchandise.
Be happy beautiful girl – thanks for everything you did for racing.

Hi Zenny, Was at the BC I made a sign saying ” Z She’s God’s Gift to Stallions”. It got a lot of attention and I got on ESPN, TVG and interviewed locally by WAMS 11 in Kent. Lots of fun because of you. I hope you come to Kentucky its more centrally located so more people can share you. You have the classiest owners and trainer possible-thank God they care about you. Happy retirement, can’t wait to see who your date is. Luv & Hugs

Ms Zenyatta, top of the morning to you. I hope you have a wonderful day, lots of gifts, and perhaps some flower to eat, big deal is right. Mr. Vanderbilt had not idea that his Native Dancer would have two of the greatest granddaughters ever, YOU and our beloved Ruffian. Please stay in CA, I am going to visit my family next June and I will come to see you. A FAN wrote, let the boys come to you, yes indeed, if they can find one half deserving of you. Great day for you, talk with you late, America’s Darlin’. Love and Hugs, Lisa g

Dearest Zenyatta, you have so many fans who adore you across the globe. It would be wonderful if you could run one more race before you retire. I have one in mind, Dubai for the world cup. I know you can win it, just as your daddy did in 2002. Think about it for me sweet girl. You deserve to go out on an international stage like the queen you are.
Faith Fraser

Dearest Lovely Queen Z – I am so glad you enjoyed the flowers and such. There was a mistake on the card, so I want you to know that the gift was from THE FANS OF BARBARO. Not that you could read the card – but ~~ for all I know, you COULD. Just wanted you and your humans to know that the Barbaro Nation – The Fans of Barbaro donated for your gift – all extra $ will go to Old Friends soon.
You are MAGNIFICENT! Chrys in AZ

Hi Z: So good to see you are having a fabulous time visiting with your fans. Has there ever been a race horse so beloved? I don’t thnk so. I will truly miss your majestic appearance as you first enter the walking ring, the happy dance you do before each race. (I like to think you are saying to yourself…”I’m going to the races…yeah…I just love all these people…I will dance for them! Then I will make their hearts stop as I make my mad dash for the finish line, getting up there in the nick of time..Of course”). Has a race horse ever captured so many hearts. I think not. Zenyatta, we all love you. Your determination, your heart, your raw talent, it just overwhelms us all. I can honestly say, I will not look forward to the races going forward, as I have in the past. I will miss the anxiety and anticipation when you had a race coming up. The exhiliration of watching you run. God Bless you, and all those who brought you to us. If ever a horse deserved HOY, it is you. Not to mention a MOVIE!!!!
Love, Patricia

Dear Zenyatta…I fell in love with you IMMEDIATELY, during your ’60 Minute’ interview!! How could I have missed your whole entire life like that? Now I’m OBSESSED with all & everything about you.. You have touched my heart like an instant ‘love affair’ that only intensifies; & every rerun of races produces tears of thrill & joy!! If you were mine, I’d require the ‘stud ‘to come to my turf; you are a Queen & need to be courted at your own castle.

Lots & Lots of LOVE Znyatta, Please let know what you are up too. You are my winner, and keep in touch. Love to the Queen

How about a “Zen-cam” so we can see our sweet girl 24-7??? :D Maybe not, as so many of us would be glued to it way too much!! I am desperate to come to Hollywood Park and just get another glimpse of you. I missed seeing you in your barn at the Breeders’ Cup (still kicking myself for not going over there Sunday morning on our way back to Minnesota). You have filled our hearts like few other horses, Zennie. Love you, big girl!!
Sally Blank
I never truly fell in love with a horse before until you came along Zenyatta! You have thrilled, amazed, and came into my heart. Want to visit you with some Guinness if it would be allowed. I just need to know whether I could visit with you. I’ll travel again, for you and your great family!! I was at Breeders Cup but Sunday we were on the road again. I cried for you Z; they better recognize you as horse of the year. Let me know where I can visit. Love
