Hello Everyone!
What a lucky horse I am! Yesterday I was busy writing a piece for THE BLOODHORSE Magazine (Commemorative Issue) coming out soon. I think I did a pretty good job! Dottie helped me. We submitted some of my baby photos and photos John had from when I was 2 at Mayberry Farm and when I first arrived here at John’s Hollywood Park barn.
The fans have been wonderful. Each day, groups are arriving to see me and I LOVE IT! Everyone has been so, so kind. Earlier in the week, I received a gorgeous floral arrangement….and then today there was Guinness, carrots and so many other goodies. I get to greet everyone and pose for pictures with so many wonderful people.
YIPPEE! LOOK AT THIS! John is just walking out here with some more gifts from fans. The CERAMI FAMILY sent me flowers and a goodie basket. He also has a BASKET OF EATIBLE TREATS which was sent from ADRIENNE AND ERIC GOFFNETT from MI. This is amazing!
I have said it often…but I truly can’t THANK ALL OF YOU enough for your kindness and love. I have been blessed to have so many wonderful, wonderful friends.
I’m doing fabulously. I’m relaxing and having fun each day! Lucky me!
Hugs to you all…and we’ll keep in touch.

You all realize that Zenyatta is not really writing this stuff, right?
She can’t type, ya know!
rosemarie bandura
Zenyatta is certainly writing this stuff….she is using her hooves!!
This horse can do it all!! :-)
Nancy
Zenyatta and your people…..thanks for the trip. It’s been a hoot. And if you decide retirement isn’t for you, (and why would it be?….you’re still young and you love to run) I will be your number one FAN. Do what you love.
Maria

I just say something to that jerk Jason. IT WAS NOT MIKE’S FAULT. It was a series bad luck. He did nothing wrong.
Sally L. Hopkins

Dear Zenyatta,
Although I left a comment the other day… your post of today promps me to leave another. It’s so difficult to think that you might be leaving your wonderful barn and Hollywood Park, not to mention CA sunshine. Kentucky can be cold and wet and you seem like such a California surf gal. Maybe you could sit Mr. and Mrs. Moss down and discuss the plans about your future soul mate. It really would be a great thing for California racing to have a CA bred Zen colt or filly! Anyway, Zenyatta, you are the Queen of all you survey and more…not to mention the rightful Horse of the Year!!
Tracy Denouden
Dear Zenyatta,
You have touched the hearts and souls of so many across the world. Thank you and team Zenyatta for all that you have given! Your an amazing girl. Can’t wait to see your babies! All the best and keep us posted.

Hi there Zenyatta…. thanks for the news today.. are you having fun? or what? I bet you are enjoying it all. I read somewhere where someone described you..”the very air seems to still when she walks from her stall to the paddock.” Yes you still the air…… guess what? before the race espn had a documentary on you and I was in it, right by the rail with my husband…. can you believe that.. I just wanted to see you go by and scorch the earth and see that long stride of yours….. I like the rail because of that…. the heck with the crab cakes and drinks, I go to see you and only you and not to eat and kabitz… keep the info on you comning and God bless team Zenyatta for giving the world something truly wonderful, happy, enlightening and down right glorious… I love you a whole lot you have changed my life forever for the best….

If your future is soon to be motherhood, well, I really think the boys should come a callin’ to Hollywood and not the other way around (you to Kentucky). I think you’re too special to be too far away from “home”.
Robbie Hamilton
OH yay!!! I love reading your diary posts!!! I am SO glad you are home and settled and enjoying yourself. You have brought so much joy to so many of us…God Bless you, Zenny. You are beautiful, you are a champion and you have touched us all. XOXO

Hi Zenyatta, I feel so lucky to have been able to watch you race! I was there at Del Mar for the Clement Hirsch Stakes! You had everyone out of their seats! Even my 2 year old son was screaming “go zen, go zen, goooo!!!” You have helped racing fans find their passion all over again, and have done so much for the people in such tight times! People whom have never seen you, feel like they know you – that is special all in itself!
But I have to agree with comment above – Mr. & Mrs. Moss, please breed Zenyatta to a CA Stallion! CTBA would be soooo grateful. And I would be soo excited to see her colt so local!

I posted a comment on your superlative achievements, sweet Zenyatta, after your 4th diary posting. But, I now must say that I am feeling a strong desire, and wish, that all horses receive one-third of the love and care, and consideration, that you have experienced. My heart goes out to all.,,and especially, at this time – our American Mustangs – who are being rounded up to extinction, and suffering greatly, at the hands of the BLM. My neighbor took in an extremely emaciated horse, right before the “owner” was going to trailer him out to die in the desert. The vet wouldn’t even give him a rating – other than – if 1 is a horse collapsing from starvation – then he would be a 1 1/2. This horse – six precarious weeks later, is doing amazing – putting on weight, and is a sweet, gentle being…a miracle – considering a horse at that level of skin & bones – with a heart murmur, probably due to the body eating the organs once the fat & muscle tissue is gone (according to the vet). Anyway, love you very much, Queen Z. I hope whatever is in your future, is wonderful. I also hope – as a sensitive mare – that you could send a positive ray of light – to all of your species – (as well as other species), as all are deserving of love and care. You are, without doubt, among the great ones! Thank you, also, for your contributions, to TROTT, as well as other significant causes. Zenyatta, you are the horse for the ages – on so many, many levels.
Beverly Rohde
How about sending donations to an equine rescue in Z’s name???

What a great gift you have given us, your fans! You truly do deserve the Horse of the Year award…your fans, of course, have you as Horse of the Ages…and now many of the turf writers and other racing insiders who get to vote on this award are also beginning to come around! Another racing insider, Peter Ellis, says you are “the horse of the last 40 years”! Hugs and best of luck.
Kathleen Marsh
Thanks for the update (and I am pretty sure that you are writing it). I love hearing that you are doing well and are happy. I hope that Mike is too. I love you Zenyatta.

Hi Zenny You are an amazing animal and my #1 inspiration right now. Thank you for so many wonderful memories, and I look forward to meeting you someday. Thank you for team Z for taking such wonderful care of our Zenny and keeping us up-to-date on her life.
Carrie
I want to tell you that it has been a thrill to watch you race, you are truely an amazing horse and you so deserve all the spoiling that you are getting. Long live the Queen of the sports of Kings. Love you Z
Kim Noble
Hey baby girl! I also think you should stay in CA with your family and have babies there. Let the boys come to you! And if you could whisper the name Afleet Alex to someone, that would be great. “Afleet Zen”, now isn’t that a great name?
Miriam
Our beautiful Dancing Queen, Lady Z. There’s not another horse who is your equal! Have a wonderful, happy life, and I hope they find a stallion worthy of you.
S
Thank you team Zenyatta for keeping her fans involved! It’s amazing how so many of us have been touched by her!

I love you big girl. It’s been so much fun watching you — and it’s going to be so much fun waiting for and watching your babies. Many thanks to Team Zenyatta for keeping her fans up to date.
