Happy Friday, Everyone!
It is amazing how things in one’s life can change so much in just several hours. Here I am late yesterday afternoon with Ann and Jerry posing for this photo…..and then a few hours later….I became a MOM!
Shortly after this picture was taken, the Moss’ left for dinner. All was quiet in my life and it seemed like we’d all have a relaxing evening. Then suddenly things started to change!
A few hours later, Mike Cline called Ann and Jerry to let them know I was feeling a bit restless and I could possibly foal later that evening.
Jerry immediately called MY JOHN and Dottie in California… and everyone started to PACE. Shortly after this, my water broke…and my lovely FOAL was bornat 10:10 last evening. As I’ve said so many times before, NATURE IS TRULY AMAZING!
HE IS ADORABLE, I AM SO EXCITED…and I AM SO BLESSED!
I am one who likes to LICK. It is a habit I developed somewhere along the way in my life. As you may remember, I used to lick MY MARIO’S face all of the time after I won a race. Thus, licking my dear foal seems like second nature to ME.
He is one handsome guy and I am now beginning to see that he and I will be embarking on an entire new journey as the future unfolds.
With Love,
Hugs to All~ (I’M A MOM!)

Congratulations to Zenyatta, the Mosses, Lanes End, and everyone!
I’m sure they will be flooded with suggested names for the colt. One that comes to mind immediately is “Synchronicity.” It was the title of one of the The Police’s best albums.
Lib Berry
Hi,
I really liked the name Synchronicity also, but I looked it up on The Jocky Club Registry, and it is already taken: 2006 horse.
https://www.registry.jockeyclub.com/registry.cfm?page=namesrch&search=&#Client.URLtoken
Amanda
Zynchronicity is not so that could work too.
LauraJ (Cincinnati, OH)
It would be up to the Jockey Club, but they might reject it since it sounds so much like Synchronicity.

I need some help please! A filly named GRASER (IRE) ran at Santa Anita yesterday. She is trained by Mike Mitchell and owned by Tommy Hulton’s Dream Stable LLC (Bob and Yvonne Hulton).
Graser is a very unusual name for a horse and happens to be my last name. I’m very curious why this name was chosen for her. Can anyone help me contact the connections to see if I can find out anything. Graser is a German name and she does have some German breds in her pedigree.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

Dear Bobbie – Elkhorn, WI
Here’s a link to her charts from Equibase. She’s only raced twice in the States. Her owners and trainer are listed as well as all of her races. Hope this helps you out. Hugs, JB

Goods Afternoon all
Zenyatta and her little Prince are looking great. Thanks to everyone for the updates and Mr and Mrs Moss for the wonderful video – very nice.
Everyone is going crazy (including myself) about what the name is going to be for this special foal.
Mr and Mrs Moss have no doubt their own ideas but many many fans have had so much fun in putting forward their thoughts, including our family.
Good Luck
Love you Zenyatta – hugs and kisses to your special little man. xx
Amanda
I can’t wait to hear what name the Mosses pick out. I really hope they stay away from anything with a dini at the end even though I know that is what alot of people are wanting. It just makes me think of either a kind of pasta or a magician. :o)
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
LoL, Amanda! I agree. Zendini is popular, but keeps me thinking of Houdini — only thing is, I dislike another popular choice, Bernyatta, even more — for some reason, it reminds me of upchucking.
Andrea
Lol!!! Zendini reminds me of a magician at a birthday party for kids pulling a rabbit out of a hat! The Mosses pick great names. They seem to see that the horse wont always be cute, that they grow and mature into big strapping beauties, and the names they choose reflect that. Whatever name they choose, I am sure it will be awesome!
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
They do pick good names — a bit unconventioneal, non-standard, but that makes them unique, It’s a thoughtful style.

Came up with a new name: ZENOPHILE. A “xenophile” (same pronunciation) is one who loves foreign cultures ….and Zenyatta. LOL

I bet Jerry & Ann have a name and are just waiting for the “star dust” to settle before they tell us through MOM Z. I know Zen knows but she is too busy doing MOM things to write. The team Z needs a rest and bonding time with the prince…We can wait RIGHT FANS ??? We are a patient bunch… Have a good Sunday MOM.

One funny thing–we were watching our dear Baylor Lady Bears in the Big 12 Conference Championship game when they came to get him for a procedure. I was thrilled that they turned on the tv in my little waiting room so I could watch, and we were back in the room 2 monutes before the end of the game! First things, first, you know!
Hugs to you all, and kisses on the nose to Zenny and that adorable boy!

Delrene in Carlsbad, Ca
My friend Judy and I were at Santa Anita yesterday. Beautiful day at the racetrack and got down early to see Blingo and the others saddled and paraded and then on to the track. Glad all came back safe. I have to say congratulations to Creative Cause and Joel. They ran a fantastic race. Dear Blingo, I hope you are feeling ok . I know you tried hard. Saw Mr. Moss in the paddock. He looked so happy .
My sentimental bet was on Blingo and Mike to win, but I also thought Creative Cause looked the best and I love gray horses, so I bet on him – but felt guilty doing it. Carla Gaine’s Midnight Transfer looked amazing too with his “permed looking mane” . A very scary incident prior to race 10 with a horse named Bessemer and the jockey and horse went down on the concrete. Hope they came out of it ok. Both were walking ok but it could have gone very bad . Something spooked him for sure. For a few seconds the horse was running and approached the stairs by the clubhouse before they got hold of him.
On a more positive note, LOVE all the video and photos, Mama Z. Thanks to you and your team for having us so up close and personal with your baby boy.

Sierra has exciting news for everyone!
So I was going through my mom’s old horse magazines because I thought it would be fun and you will never guess what I found! A June 11, 1973 Time magazine with none other than the Great Secretariat! I was ecstatic when I found out it! I just thought I would share that with you all as I know there are some Secretariat lovers on here as well. Well time to read the actual article.
Carolyn
Sierra, You are holding a priceless gem there. To this day and forever, he will always be the #1 colt of all time. Love, love, love, The Boss himself, SECRETARIAT.

♥ In honor of Zen’s Baby Bundle – I’m reposlting the video of her sniffing her Plushie :-)
If I remember correctly, Zen Team will be doing another Plushie, but the foal will have the exact markings as her colt! I hope I’m one of the first to get one of those!

Okay I was just watching inside edition of Native Dancer and I love how the finish. “Breed the best to the best and hope for the best.” I think that is what Jerry, Ann, and Dottie are doing for Z. I am sure the little Z is the best too.
Terry Crow
I think the underlying message is that breeding is an inexact science.
Sierra has exciting news for everyone!
Terry you are probably right but I still think that is what Jerry, Ann, and Dottie are doing for Z although with a little more love then many other owners.
Terry Crow
Agreed.
signofthetimes
Breeding is a gamble as many famous stallions and
Mares with inpecable pedigrees, end up in claiming
Ranks or are not significant money earners.
“E” has a lot of following is gorgeous, but there is
No talk by anyone about her being a standout
Like Zenny. Most owner’s would like to have a
Graded stakes earner, the rest is icing on the cake.
Judy from South Carolina
Good afternoon all……………Happy Sunday Mamma Z and Beautiful Little Boy……………..
A friend of mine spoke to Dottie at the track yesterday and she said the the “paperwork” for Zennie’s next breeding has been signed but they are not ready to release the name of the stallion as yet. I remember JAG (I think it was) saying something about over hearing a conversation about something being revealed on St. Paddy’s Day? Hmmmmmmm………..maybe that will be when the announcement is made.
Dottie also said that Ann was VERY unhappy to have to leave Kentucky and fly back to California and leave Zennie and her foal but that “business had to continue as usual”. I will bet MONEY Jerry took her onto that plane KICKING AND SCREAMING! LOL!
I can’t wait to see who the stallion is going to be either. There are so many possibilities I don’t even have any suggestions but love all of yours!
Take good care ZENNIE — we love you and are SOOOOOO proud of you!
Sierra has exciting news for everyone!
That would be so cool! I would love it was revealed on St. Paddy’s Day but it wouldn’t make since because that is a Saturday. We may hear something sometime this week though! Wouldn’t that be exciting!

Well, he-ll–o–QUEEN MUM!!!! :):):) Your little guy is just so– oo cute!! Even heard hard nosed handicappers on radio this (Sunday) am using cutsie terms, you have that affect on everyone. I have not been feeling well all week (better I think today), so Rod kept me posted (LOL) on YOUR comments, Z. He enjoyed reading them and telling me about them. I just flopped on the sofa and did little of anything except go to work. I am so thrilled for you and your proud daddy, Bernie. So happy everyone is healthy. As many have said, a big bushel of thanks to YOUR TEAM for keeping us in the loop. You are the gift that keeps giving and giving. Tried to go to S.A yesterday but came home early..if time, more later. Bye, mom!
