Happy Friday, Everyone!
It is amazing how things in one’s life can change so much in just several hours. Here I am late yesterday afternoon with Ann and Jerry posing for this photo…..and then a few hours later….I became a MOM!
Shortly after this picture was taken, the Moss’ left for dinner. All was quiet in my life and it seemed like we’d all have a relaxing evening. Then suddenly things started to change!
A few hours later, Mike Cline called Ann and Jerry to let them know I was feeling a bit restless and I could possibly foal later that evening.
Jerry immediately called MY JOHN and Dottie in California… and everyone started to PACE. Shortly after this, my water broke…and my lovely FOAL was bornat 10:10 last evening. As I’ve said so many times before, NATURE IS TRULY AMAZING!
HE IS ADORABLE, I AM SO EXCITED…and I AM SO BLESSED!
I am one who likes to LICK. It is a habit I developed somewhere along the way in my life. As you may remember, I used to lick MY MARIO’S face all of the time after I won a race. Thus, licking my dear foal seems like second nature to ME.
He is one handsome guy and I am now beginning to see that he and I will be embarking on an entire new journey as the future unfolds.
With Love,
Hugs to All~ (I’M A MOM!)

The HRTV video clip is AHHHHHHHHSOME!!! The Mosses are doting grandparents, proud and happy. What a glorious week! I thinking the stopping and starting of the video is just a “reload” process, depending on your computer. Mine does that sometimes with video clips.
TZ
Congratulations Zenyatta! I hope you and the little guy are doing well. Please have Dottie post more photos of you and him.

@Loretta–I know tomorrow is a BIG DAY for you–don’t forget to look for your birthday poem tomorrow!

Z family thank you for posting the video from HRTV. Wow it made me cry. So Beautiful. He is just TOO CUTE !!!! What a good mama Z is too. I bought large lollipops for my Homeroom for Monday. We will celebrate the birth of Baby Z. I know the children get so excited. I hope everyone has a good weekend. I love you Zenyatta and Baby Z. Hugs and Kisses, Shari XXXOOO
PS My husband said let Baby Z and Rachael’s baby play and run around together. That would be cute : )

Can’t wait to hear the reaction of your kids.

Zenny, you are such an awesome MOM, and what a perfect baby too.
Love all the videos and pictures of The Little Prince. Many thanks to all of you who are so computer literate for posting them.
I like the picture where he is laying down and facing the camera. His star is so cute, it looks like a snowball.
My computer stops every couple of seconds too. It does that on all videos and someone told me it’s because it doesn’t have enough memory. It is pretty old.
Judy Idriss
The HRTV video was awesome. Such a thrill to see Zenny & her new colt out in the paddock. That little fellow is so precious. Loved the comments by Jerry & Ann. They are such wonderful owners. And Thanks to Team Zenyatta for all you do in keeping us fans informed. Much love to you Zenny & your little prince. Judy from Sunland, Ca

Mike Smith just won Race 8 at Santa Anita, only 6 more to go to reach 5000. He rides Blingo in the next race which is a Jerry and Ann Moss owned. John Sheriffs trained horse. Come on Mike!

Thanks, I was wondering where he was in the countdown. Now on to the San Felipe.

How is Tasty doing? She must miss being with Zenyatta. Hope all is well!
Amanda
I know why Zenny was so fast she litterly has George Jeston on her head. Her blaze looks like the profile of George Jeston. LOL
Jolande
Sorry to see my post got removed just now…
I hope I didn’t break any rules as that was certainly not my intention. I’d just like to say the link I posted was tweeted by HRTV themselves yesterday, so it was a legitimate link. But then again, it’s not my blog and I don’t make the rules or decisions.
My apologies again.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Jolande:
That happened to me once. Gotta be a glitch; nothing wrong with the post. Hugs, JB

The video is something I find myself watching over and over again. The little guy is just “too cute” in the words of his Mom. I think his blaze resembles the full moon and since he was born on the night of the full moon, he is magical and destiny smiles upon him. Congratulations to all of Z’s connections. You are all so blessed to have her in your life.
Fran
Z-you know Scott Hazelton of HRTV came up with a wonderful name-at least I thought-STING! Love that name sweet girl! Hope all is going wonderful. Sending you, the foal, and, of course, Tasty big smooches and hugs xxoo

michael, dottie said in an interview earlier this week that it hasn’t been decided who or when, yet. And something like, “She hasn’t had one baby yet, we can’t have her dating!”

@Everyone did anyone see a horse win today by the name of Hardened Wildcat?????I liked him and he looked awsome. they said he had won his last 3 races. He is by Hardspun. I believe it was at Oaklawn.

Dear Peggy N:
Wish I could be there too. Have a wonderful time. Hugs, JB

Dear Peggy N.:
Do you ever see some of the typos and mistakes I make in my posts. Ha,ha.
I like Hard Spun too and you’re so welcome. Always enjoy your posts. Hugs, JB
Marty R / Colorado
Peggy N., You are too sweet. I really like grays. LOL Have a great time. We’ll be waiting to hear all about it.
Terry Crow
Hard Spun was a very underrated horse. Had the unfortunate experience of competing against some really tough horses.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Terry C.:
You’re so right. Class of 2007: Street Sense, Curlin, Scat Daddy, Stormello, just to name a few and that’s the year Rags to Riches won the Belmont. His record in 13 starts: 7 wins – 3 seconds – 1 third. Hugs, JB
Marshall (in NC)
Terry,
I wholeheartedly agree! Hardspun is an outstanding horse who faced tough
competition and did a very respectable job. I have always liked him!
Trina Nagele in So Cal
High hoof, Peggy! Thanks for the heads up–I’ll sharpen my pencils, as Terry Crow said!

Dear TT:
Goodnight and Sweet Baby Dreams. Hope you have your foal soon. Love you, Judy and Russ

The HRTV piece is easy to find by googling zenyatta + foal. They have it in their video vault. Thanks to Jerry and Ann for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Judy-Everything is OK. Thanks for asking. Just enjoying all of the reaction to a very special event. Hope Russ is doing well..
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Terry C.:
Glad you’re OK. Russ is still extremely weak on the left side. Difficult to get from sitting to standing. Hoping will improve as it did last time. Hugs, JB
Marshall (in NC)
Terry,
Glad you are okay!
Judy B.,
Sure hope Russ continues to improve! All good wishes to both of you!
Carolyn
Hey folks, I was able to view the video from HRTV better because Bloodhorse.com uploaded it to their site and I seen it with no quirps as with HRTV stream. I still haven’t figured that one out yet.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Carolyn:
Thanks. I’ll try it there. Hugs, JB
Carolyn
Wow, I just thought of something. who will the Moss’s entrust the little prince to as having him trained for racing. I expect they will have him shipped out to John Shirreffs once he has been trained on up to his two year old race age. I expect this little prince will be in California so grandma can see him all the time.
LauraJ (Cincinnati, OH)
He will probably go to the Mayberry’s farm in Florida, where Zenyatta received her initial training. Then sometime in his 2-year-old year, he will most likely go to John Shirreffs.
Terry Crow
Sounds right. I doubt that he would compete as a 2-year-old not matter how much promise he might show. Let’s just hope he is a runner. Even if he can’t run a step, he would be valuable as a stallion.
Judy Sims in Florida
Found a better version of the HRTV video that doesn’t keep stopping and reloading in case no one else has found it:
http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/videos/watch/9A71F324-CDF5-4E72-95AD-F847635CA28D?section=news
I can’t stop watching it over and over. It is so heart warming and fascinating.
Ann & Jerry are such wonderful people and Zenyatta & her little prince are captivating.
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
Thanks for that, Judy, I had sent the HRTV link to friends in England, but they couldn’t get past the initial ad, so hopefully this one (no ad) will work.
Charlie White
From Caracas, Venezuela, congrats to all ¡
Now I think Zenie will be booked to BLAME
An ideal mating & geat champion on the coming …
LauraJ (Cincinnati, OH)
Probably not. The foal would be 3SX3D to Kris S, who is the grandsire of both Blame and Zenyatta. I don’t think the Mosses would want to breed so close. It would be a nice breeding if not for that.
Speaking of great racemares, did you hear that Bambera has delivered her first foal? She foaled a chestnut colt by Curlin on March 4 at Montesacro Farm in Georgetown, KY.
Lisag in Texas Adoring the Prince
LauraJ, thanks again, I really did not realize that Zenyatta and Blame share the same grandsire…He is another beautiful stallion.
Charlie White
You might be right, Laura. But I love inbreeding to Roberto, one of my favorite sire lines. And happy for BAMBERA’S child too …
LauraJ (Cincinnati, OH)
Some people might do it. I just don’t think the Mosses would. I’ve heard from a fairly reliable source that they prefer not to breed too close.
LauraJ (Cincinnati, OH)
Of course, they could double up on Roberto by going to Dynaformer. But they’d run the risk of getting his personality rather than Zenyatta’s. Plus, he’s a big stallion.
Terry Crow
Good info from the horsey expert on this site.
peppermint
Judy, thanks for the link, it is much better.
He is so cute. Sweet dreams everyone.

Congratulations Zenny and to everyone who helped her deliver a wonderful little guy.
Love you all. Big Big Hugs and Lots of Love.
Sierra is happy again!
I just saw the video. So cute!! He is adorable running around.
Sierra is happy again!
I just thought about something. What if Zenyatta was bred to Distorted to Humor I think that would be a great foal!
Andrea
Me too! He sounds like a great match. I like the distance stallions. It just seems like the kind of breeding that the whole TB breed needs more of.
