Happy Friday, Everyone!

It is amazing how things in one’s life can change so much in just several hours. Here I am late yesterday afternoon with Ann and Jerry posing for this photo…..and then a few hours later….I became a MOM!

Shortly after this picture was taken, the Moss’ left for dinner. All was quiet in my life and it seemed like we’d all have a relaxing evening. Then suddenly things started to change!

A few hours later, Mike Cline called Ann and Jerry to let them know I was feeling a bit restless and I could possibly foal later that evening.

Jerry immediately called MY JOHN and Dottie in California… and everyone started to PACE. Shortly after this, my water broke…and my lovely FOAL was bornat 10:10 last evening. As I’ve said so many times before, NATURE IS TRULY AMAZING!

HE IS ADORABLE, I AM SO EXCITED…and I AM SO BLESSED!

I am one who likes to LICK. It is a habit I developed somewhere along the way in my life. As you may remember, I used to lick MY MARIO’S face all of the time after I won a race. Thus, licking my dear foal seems like second nature to ME.

He is one handsome guy and I am now beginning to see that he and I will be embarking on an entire new journey as the future unfolds.

    I think if the Vox Populi vote were taken today, Z/B would be the next winner. Afterall, he crashed websites and didn’t even have to take a step in the straw. What a guy!!!

    HRTV just showed some snippets and said the whole video would be up on the website later this afternoon. What they showed was great! He is sooo cute and Zenny is a fantastic mom.

    Happy Saturday, Momyatta. It’s starting out to be a good day. I got my Zenyatta t-shirt in the mail today and wore it to my trip to the grocery store. Imagine my shock when I walked into my neighborhood Kroger and the very first thing I saw was a display of Guinness right by the front door! I hope you and your little prince are doing great. Tell Tasty hello!

    @Abigail – I think I’ve solved the mystery about the Zenyatta cards. At first I thought they were sent to everyone who ordered a plushie, but now I think they were sent to people who sent Z a Christmas card. The card has the Versailles zip code in the meter strip and on the back of the card it has Z’s picture and underneath that it says Lane’s End Farm and has their address, so apparently Lane’s End sent them out. I can’t think of any other reason I would get one.

      Hi AJ,
      Thanks for the link, maybe it will all work out later. For now, I followed the instructions and was able to enter user and password. Instructions said click on ‘Page’, then Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer. This produces a message: This FTP site cannot be viewed in Windows Explorer.

      We think this link was made for commercial comncerns…TV and other media outlets not for fans. Don’t worry…we will get to see lots of stuff on this site.

        • My that video is wonderful. The Mosses are in total love with mom and baby. When they showed the footage of Ann in the stall with Zen and little Prince did you notice how Zenny whinneyed in delight! She and her Ann have a very unique bond. It was as if Zen was saying “just look at this little guy, and he’s mine”!

          And to see the little guy walk right under his mom in the paddock is “TOO CUTE”.

    Link that pops up is the one to click on. The Mosses
    And Zenny video will be OB your left at the top.

    OMG – I just saw the HRTV interview and cried the entire time; it is incredibly beautiful and Jerry and Ann are just incredible people – you really are! I was so touched by your loving, gentle spirit. I watched it 5 times in a row and will go back now and watch it again. It is free on HRTV for everyone; please don’t post any more negatives on this site – it is such a beautiful, beautiful love story that we are sharing in. I just can’t say any more – thank you so much Ann and Jerry and all of Zenny’s team for sharing. There is so little genuineness in this world right now – it is so nice to be able to embrace this and share in it. Zenyatta, her baby, her family and everyone of us are so very, very lucky. He is gorgeous – truly gorgeous and you look so proud as you should be. What a girl you are! Congratulations Zenyatta.

      I love that song. I have a photo album and a scrapbook on my wonderful, deceased Thoroughbred, Rum Car. By his win photo I printed out a small piece of it:

      “It’s breeding and it’s training

      I can’t hear that song without crying.

    Thank you, Amanda, for letting us know that the REST of us could see the video now, not just the ones who paid to see it. What a lovely foal and she’s a great mom, which I knew she would be.

    I really wish they had communicated with us. I’ve been worried sick for the last 24 hours that something was wrong when they pulled the video down, didn’t post any more pics, and said NOTHING. After all we’ve gone through here I was not happy about having to GOOGLE to find out if he was even still alive, and then stumbling over the fact that there was going to be video on HRTV and then finding out would have had to pay to see it.

    Anyway I’m very much relieved to see that he is alive and healthy and strong and already learning to run. What a sweet, sweet baby and Zenny is being so sweet with him.

      No problem I really think what happened with the first video was that they had made a deal with HRTV for the exclusive rights for the first official photos and video and Ann got a little excited and posted the video. If you watch the video on HRTV of their interview with Dottie she said that Amy Zimmerman was there shooting video and photos and she is a producer and VP of HRTV. I don’t know for sure I’m just thinking this is why the first video was made private.

        I feel bad that I reacted negatively to being denied access to the video. I thought something like that might have happened (a prior exclusivity deal) but I have been WORRIED SICK all day yesterday that something had happened to the foal because no pics showing him standing and nursing had been posted. I found out about the HRTV thing by GOOGLING last night, dreading that I might find news that the foal had died or something. Then I tried to go to HRTV at the announced time for the video and found out I would have to PAY to see it. I was so crushed, I really felt let down. If they had just told us what was going on I wouldn’t have been so worried and let down.

        My apologies to everyone here for my negative comments. I was in tears when I posted that, I was so disappointed that others got to see that beautiful video and I didn’t.

        • luvscritters – not a problem, we (many, anyway) are emotionally attached to Zenny, rational or not. I was upset myself when the rumor-mill broke the foaling news, an hour before Team-Z posted it officially — then I was upset that I had been upset. It’s just emotions, and luckily doesn’t affect how the world turns! But it makes me feel better, when others say things like this, too.

        • Our emotions can sometime overtake us and prevent us from thinking calmly. It happens to all of us more times than we probably want to admit. I was a bit miffed that Daisy Farish “let the cat of the bag” so to speak. I really feel that privilege belonged to Dottie or the Moss’. It’s been Dottie that has poured her heart and soul into this site and the generosity of the Moss’ that has allowed her to create a community of people with diverse backgrounds who can come together and share a common interest. For 12 extraordinary months Dottie lead us on an adventure and at the end she is nipped at the wire by a spoiler (sound familiar?). But then I had to get a grip and realize, “wait a minute”, nothing has been ruined, and I can relate to the excitement Daisy felt and the inability to contain it and I just know one of my 11-12 year old nieces would have done the same thing. I had to laugh at myself and Daisy.

        • I did not know someone else broke the news of The Prince before Zenyatta told us. I am so glad I did not hear from anyone but her (Dottie). I can understand the people that were upset when they heard it from someone else.

          Word of the birth apparently first came from Bill Farish’s daughter Daisy, who tweeted at 11:07PM EST from Wellington, Fla., “ZENYATTA JUST HAD HER BABY! BOY!” Within the hour, a post confirming the news went up at Zenyatta.com on a blog written by Ingordo-Shirreffs, who also is the mosses’ racing manager.

          If you haven’t read the article yet, you should. It quotes some of the comments of our fellow Z’sters.

        To see the broadcast at 11 eastern time you had to be a subscriber to HRTV. Later they posted the video with the Mosses for the rest of the world to see, but they hadn’t said they would do that and I didn’t know how HRTV worked. All I knew was I tried to watch the show and this thing came up wanting me to subscribe to see it. Many people here are already subscribers to HRTV. I wasn’t. I can’t afford stuff like that.

        • OK, I see what you are saying. It is just like any other cable channel everybody practically has to have now since we went digital. It is the same if you want to watch movies on HBO. I have the sports package cuz I like to watch Horse Racing live…If you have FB, LIKE TVG and HRTV, they will send it to you on your Wall, and you will know when it is online.

    The HRTV interview was very cool. The video really captured not only how much that the Mosses care for Zenyatta, but how Zenyatta loves her colt. Watching Ann snuggle with the colt was priceless. Starting with the Full Moon was very clever. Chris, if you google 2012 Lanes End foals you can at least see a list and be able to tell if Tasty has delivered yet or not. Something tells me that when something does happen that Zenyatta’s Diary will give a report.

    my throat closes up every time I look at them both. He was born on the full moon, and it almost looks like a perfect full moon on his forehead, … very unusual and quite magical…. maybe he should be called ‘Zen Moon’ !
