Hello,

Yesterday, we had a very comfortable afternoon in Lexington and the temperatures were rather pleasant. Then last night at about 3 in the morning, a very heavy rain began. Fortunately, at that time, TASTY and I were nice and safe snuggled comfortably in our stalls in the foaling barn.

My ‘foaling status’ is progressing in a very nice and relaxed manner since the latest report. As of this morning, per Matt, TASTY, is at the ‘one marshmallow size bag’ stage. This is where I was last week. It will be fascinating to monitor the progression we each make during the next several days.

Many of you have asked if we would be together with our foals once they are born. From what we are hearing, that is the plan.

On another note, I would like to send a HIGH HOOF to a dear friend who used to visit ME all of the time when I was at BARN 55. His name is Ed Lauter. Ed would arrive at around noon, bring MY JOHN his favorite ham and cheese sandwiches, and just hang out with us for a bit in the afternoons. Ed is an actor and called MY JOHN this morning to share GREAT NEWS! He played the role of Peppy’s Butler in the movie, THE ARTIST, which recently won THE BEST PICTURE Award at the Academy Awards. (I gather this is like being named HORSE OF THE YEAR…in our industry.) Ed is now off to do another movie, this time with Clint Eastwood, and has 2 other movie offers to consider as well. He is so excited and wanted to share all of this with MY JOHN and thank him for the opportunity to spend so much time with ME and BARN 55. He said it meant a great deal to him!

Ed commented to MY JOHN about how MOMENTUM is so important in life. One thing happens and another builds upon that success helping people to achieve their goals. I appreciate and understand this concept….and am so happy for my pal, ED.

As a matter of fact, I am always so proud to share in the ‘good fortune’ of all of my friends!

    I’ve been trying to get caught up on the posts. I had minor eye surgery on Monday and haven’t been able to use the computer. It sounds like Z is getting closer and closer to the big day. I can’t wait! This is so exciting. I think she’s going to have a filly. I was laughing out loud reading the posts about sneaking into Lane’s End. There are some very imaginative Dumplings out there! If you need any help pulling off your plan, count me in!

    Please thank Sarah for the weather update! Am catching up with You and Tasty on ‘the run’, so to speak….know YOU will understand. We do ‘so’ appreciate knowing that the storms have passed YOU and Tasty and Everyone at Lane’s End – by! We have our family, by blood and by heart ( which is the same as ‘by heart’ with Your Family…. we are all so connected in ‘Spirit’… in Love….) in the southern part of America, and, so many folks by the weather storms, who also need all of our prayers.
    YOUR updates daily are so inspiring and heart-warming. Thank you everyone!

    Sweet Mama Z; Zim Bam B o o m, I am exploding with excitement hearing that all is getting closer!! Oh my gosh by golly, you’ve got a bigger bag. My BF told me last night. And I will gladly get into a horse custome-at any end of it, whatever the color, whatever the size, if I could be with you too. I found a computer & internet at hotel in Ocala. This is so special itself to tell you how much I am thinking of you.
    Tomorrow, I will be visiting Mayberry Farm where you began some training a few years ago. Jeannie was so friendly and was happy to have me come. You(Plushie you) have traveled with me a long way. Stay relaxed beautiful. Tasty too. I’m on needles & pins!!

    I know you can foal any day now, I’m still hoping you’ll hold out till March 17th (my horse’s birthday) but probably you won’t. (She herself was born 11 days “early”)

    I wonder if you will be bred back on the foal heat, and what stallion they have chosen to sire your second baby or if they will give you a year to just be a mommy and not breed you again right away. I’m sure these decisions have already been made but chances are we won’t know you’ve been bred until you’re three months pregnant so we must be patient.

    I can’t wait until there are a bunch of baby Z’s running around.

    I hope they will take video of the birth. I keep hoping they produce a DVD of all your races, video of you at Lane’s End, and a video of the birth and of the baby frolicking with Tasty’s foal — they could raise thousands for equine charities that way.

    And in the meantime, I will pray for an uncomplicated birth and a healthy foal. You have the best of the best watching over you and caring for you and I can’t wait to come here and read the news of a successful foaling and a beautiful baby with YOUR EARS! :)

    Hi Celeste from Texas!! I don’t know too many people with our name, so it is fun to “meet” another Celeste!! What is your heritage? My family heritage is Italian. I am actually named after my great grandFATHER!!!!

    I am happy you did not get scammed. I am seeing more and more of these on my computer. Pretty soon I am going to be skeptical of everything!

    Happy to “meet” you. Maybe sometime we will meet in person at a Zenyatta event. Wouldn’t it be fun if we were all invited to Lane’s End to meet Zenyatta and the baby? What a dream come true that would be……. Sigh!

    Hi Z family!!

    I’m so excited…I am going to go ride at a new barn tomorrow. Just general try-outs, and to see if I like it. Cazenovia college has a very good riding team, and I am hoping to get in, so I need to get more hunter/jumper experience. I will post tomorrow with (hopefully) good news about what happened! Wish me luck!!

    Queen Z, please stay safe, and I hope the night goes smoothly for you and Mama Tasty! I will pray extra hard for you two, and I will ask Mrs. Kari to watch over you, but I am sure she always has and always will, so it is just to comfort me. :-)

      Pati, Good luck to you. Cazenovia is about 40 miles west from here and we are having “winter” now. The weather is snow, rain, sleet etc for today but should be all done by tomorrow. Drive carefully if roads aren’t the best!

    Sounds like everything is going well for you and Tasty. Please be safe, I worry everytime I read about tornados in Kentucky.
    How nice for your friend Ed. It is very hard to get steady work as an actor unless you are a big star. Maybe it will be Eds time to shine!
    I say goodnight to my Zenyatta Plushie everynite. I know you can’t hear me, but it as close as I can get to you. ( Maybe my co-workers are right, I might be a little nutz). But hey, that’s okay. I’m only nutz over you (and my husband and my dogs!:))

    The Ides of March (I am not sure how to spell that) (Oh and this would be perfect if the foal was born on March 5th.)
    This is just a few of the names I have so far. I think that Sweet Serendipity could also work for T’s foal. I am just so excited I can barely keep my eyes off of your website. Once the news breaks I am sure it will be a fan frenzy all around the world. March 9th would be a great birthday for the foal! I think it would be kind of cool if it was March 5th or 6th which are my bestfriends birthdays. Hope you are doing well and I cannot wait to see the foal as I am sure many people can’t wait. Even though I would like it to be a filly so that it could carry on your legacy as a great mare race horse, I have a feeling it is going to be a colt. But either way I cannot wait! I am also excited to see who you are going to be bred to next time!

    Dear Zenyatta Hi sweet girl. I was worried about you and Tasty with that bad weather today. I hope you stayed dry. I had a dream last night that your John was riding you and you were here in Steubenville, Ohio. I was so close to you. I almost could touch you. I woke up feeling good about the dream. I have been talking about you in class sharing about your body changes and the up coming birth. I think I went to sleep thinking about you. That is a nice way to go to sleep.       Wow…my Z family has awesome dreams…I never dream like this…I have weird scrambled dreams…like I dreamed about sharks, giant crocs, cupcakes, and aurora borealis all in one dream. If “A dream is a wish your heart makes when you are fast asleep.” than what is my heart trying to tell me??

      By the way, the amazing Mr. Walt Disney said that saying, I believe. Love me some Disney Classics. I have memorized song lyrics to Aladdin, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Anastasia(not Disney, but still good), Little Mermaid, Lion King 2, and I am working my way through Cinderella. :-) I also memorized all the Land Before Time songs too. Children’s movies make me happy. :-) LOL

    I was relieved to read that several of you have still not gotten your Zenny card. I have not either and keep rushing to look for it each day the mail is delivered.

    Hi Zenny: Are you alright. It is just after 10pm in NJ and I just heard on the news that KY and TN were hit hard with a tornado system. I hope you and Tasty are okay. Please let us know as soon as you can. Homes and buildings have been torn down by this tornado. It really hit hard and cause a lot of damage. I hope you are okay.

    He makes good movies. Mystic River had me thinking for two weeks. I wished they make a sequel.

    Horrible spill at Charlestown, just 1 horse crossed the line. Hate to bear bad news, sloppy track! Just a horrible shame! Looks like #6 broke down, #3, Miss 50 seems to be the only one to cross the finish. Looks like a lot of riderless horses crossed the finish!

    Oh Zenny, so glad you and Tasty are doing great and as expected. I have stayed up late to catch up, not doing too good of a job in doing that.
    I was watching TVG when that spilled that happened and of course, closed my eyes so I didn’t see too much. Hoping all jockeys and horses are ok.
    I’ve been lurking and reading but just can’t seem to post most days. Was really caught off guard with Kari going to the Rainbow Bridge and trying to compose words just seemed too difficult. But everyone else that has expressed their thoughts, you have been spot on from the heart.
    Have been praying for everyone that is going through tough times personally, with friends and for their animal family. Hoping for good news all around.
    So I will try this again and read each post as it’s written (lol, yeah, we’ll see) while I keep up with my daughter’s activities and the horse rescue, all are doing fine and with the kitties that we’ve taken in from the rescue. Count is now up to 3 and don’t say I told you so Diana S :) There were extenuating circumstances. Yeah, a soft heart is more like it.
    @ Sue Frederick–it’s your BFF Sally that is coming to Florida with her husband, right? Possibly going to Tampa Bay Downs on March 10 to the Tampa Bay Derby? Please let her know that I will be there with my Z Dumpling tag proudly displayed, so far that is. I will keep you posted but my plans are to be there.
    I will post more tomorrow, got to get to bed so I can get up in about 4 hours for work.
    Zenny, please be getting your rest along Tasty so we can see beautiful, healthy babies soon, just like the ones that your Z’sters have posted.

      Dearest Kim S, how wonderful to see your post!! You have been missed. The loss of our Kari has been very hard. The words written are a beautiful tribute to the support, joy and love she gave us all. She will live in our hearts and memories forever. Please do keep in touch when you can my friend. I always loved hearing about what you and your daughter were up to and your fantastic horse rescue efforts.

    There was a very scary race tonight at Charles Town. Every horse went down or lost the rider except for my beloved Miss Fifty. She came out with some cuts that required stitches. Prayers that she’ll heal and that the other horses and riders will be okay. Scariest race I’ve ever seen, especially since my Fifty was involved. She also happens to be bred by the Mosses. I love you Fifty, stay safe sweetie!

      I thought that was your girl last night, Miss Fifty, who we thought was the only one to escape that horrific accident. Hopefully her cuts and scrapes won’t be anything serious. So sad to head about Sharp Beauty. She and Kari can take care of each other now. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.

    I’m sitting on pins and needles for the news of a healthy colt or filly. I will have a new baby in my family in June and don’t know if it will be a boy or girl. I’m so exctied for the new babies. SG
