Hello,
Yesterday, we had a very comfortable afternoon in Lexington and the temperatures were rather pleasant. Then last night at about 3 in the morning, a very heavy rain began. Fortunately, at that time, TASTY and I were nice and safe snuggled comfortably in our stalls in the foaling barn.
My ‘foaling status’ is progressing in a very nice and relaxed manner since the latest report. As of this morning, per Matt, TASTY, is at the ‘one marshmallow size bag’ stage. This is where I was last week. It will be fascinating to monitor the progression we each make during the next several days.
Many of you have asked if we would be together with our foals once they are born. From what we are hearing, that is the plan.
On another note, I would like to send a HIGH HOOF to a dear friend who used to visit ME all of the time when I was at BARN 55. His name is Ed Lauter. Ed would arrive at around noon, bring MY JOHN his favorite ham and cheese sandwiches, and just hang out with us for a bit in the afternoons. Ed is an actor and called MY JOHN this morning to share GREAT NEWS! He played the role of Peppy’s Butler in the movie, THE ARTIST, which recently won THE BEST PICTURE Award at the Academy Awards. (I gather this is like being named HORSE OF THE YEAR…in our industry.) Ed is now off to do another movie, this time with Clint Eastwood, and has 2 other movie offers to consider as well. He is so excited and wanted to share all of this with MY JOHN and thank him for the opportunity to spend so much time with ME and BARN 55. He said it meant a great deal to him!
Ed commented to MY JOHN about how MOMENTUM is so important in life. One thing happens and another builds upon that success helping people to achieve their goals. I appreciate and understand this concept….and am so happy for my pal, ED.
As a matter of fact, I am always so proud to share in the ‘good fortune’ of all of my friends!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Hello and well, good night, our QUEEN…PLEASE STAY SAFE!!!! Before I forget, I want to congratulate Dawn on that TV interview. Not only impressive on a personal level, but very helpful…thanks! And hey Z, great to learn about YOUR friend in The Artist. I, too saw it a week before the Oscars, just to be in the loop…now I am picturing him again. Hoofray!!
It is late here and we are leaving early in the a.m for Vegas, so I’ll talk to you soon, Ms. Z. SO pleased you and Tasty are continuing on schedule. Nighty-night!! :-) STAY DRY!!!

Dear Zenyatta,
Stay safe (you and Tasty, too)! I love you! Congratulations to Ed Lauter — “The Artist” is such a great movie. I admit I was totally charmed by it (and Uggie). I am so glad that it won Best Picture, Best Actor, and other categories, as well. I do think there should be an Oscar for little Uggie, however. I know he was awarded with The Golden Collar!
Sweet dreams to you and Tasty! Goodnight to one and all!

Thank you for the update on the condition of the participants. Your Miss Fifty is so lucky to have you as a true friend. You write beautifully, what a compelling story of following your heart. I am relieved that she came out of that race remarkably unscathed. My wish is for her to retire into your loving care as her best friend and companion. You are indeed her angel.

@Past the Grandstand–what a story about Miss Fifty! Now I have fallen in love with her too and will add her to my virtual stable. Please send updates. She has the most beautiful face. Hugs.

That was the worst spill in along time. Amazing that the jocks walked away with only one with a broken collar bone. RIP Sharp Beauty.

Terry Crow – I am horrified to see that I missed your “ad” listing Redneck Friends Cards for sale. If Sue Fredericks and the other rednecks haven’t snatched them all up, I definitely want one! Reserve one for me.

Zenyatta, I’m happy to hear that your in foal status is coming along really well. I’m also happy that you and Tasty survived your storm so well, especially since you two are in foal right now. I’m also happy to hear that you two will actually be with the foals once they are born. It is nice of Ed to come in and check on you and John. He is continuing what he did when you resided in Barn 55.
