Happy Tuesday!
Yes, it is just that….a very happy Tuesday! I am so pleased to report the findings from all of my evaluations yesterday. I am DOING GREAT!
Per Mike Cline from Lane’s End, I AM DOING EVERYTHING JUST AS THEY WOULD HOPE! (Blush, Blush!) I am really beginning to ‘let down now’. This means my body is relaxing and recognizing the fact that the many changes required before foaling occurs are now gradually happening.
My “bag” did get a bit bigger over the weekend. It is currently the size of the palm of one’s hand.
From all reports and the many years of experience of my Lane’s End Team…I am still several days or so from actually foaling…but all of the proper stages they want to see are taking place in my body.
We are at the stage where nature truly directs everything as to how quickly these stages progress. Needless to say, I am constantly being observed and all changes…no matter how slight…are noted.
At this time, my daily routine is remaining the same. Weather permitting, I am turned out into my paddock at 7:30 each morning and I’m brought back inside around 3:30 each afternoon. My diet is monitored and my ‘treat’ intake at this time is very controlled. It is all about eating healthy and doing everything right!
I must say, this is getting very exciting! As I’ve never done all of this before, there is so much new to learn and experience. I do know things are changing with my body…and it is all GOOD NEWS! I am totally relaxed and very, very happy!
I’ll keep you posted on all future updates.
Oh, here comes TASTY to visit. I’ll ask her how things are going with her ‘status’….and we can compare notes. As we both conceived on the same day…it will be an interesting study of 2 maiden mares having their first foals.
Enjoy your day!
With Love,
Hugs to all~

Zenyatta, I am really happy to hear that you are doing so great! All your tests are coming back perfectly and they are monitoring you intensely, even for the little things. They can’t let you have too much junk food and they take you out by 7 or 7:30 AM and have you back in by 3:30PM. I hope you had a good meeting with Tasty. I’m sure they’re monitoring her as intensely as they’re monitoring you. You are showing a baby bump for sure now. I can’t wait for the births of your foals. I’m like a little kid at Christmas on that issue.
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Dear Zenny,
So glad to hear all of your good news! You seem to do everything in such a steadfast, professional way (no doubt from all of your years of training). It sounds like you are getting very close. Do you think you can hang on a little longer? One of your oldest and dearest friends has a certain date in mind (wink, wink). Hope that Tasty had an equally good report. Take deep breaths, relax, relax, relax . . . .
Love from your Ohio friend, Sandy
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
To ALL: (I am decreeing that this post is invisible to Zenny – it would be too upsetting).
Northeast Ohio is reeling as a result of a dreadful tragedy that you may have heard about on the national news. Five high school students were shot yesterday before a very courageous teacher chased the shooter, another student, from the building. He was quickly apprehended and is now in police custody. Three of the victims have died and another is still in serious condition. This happened in a town about 30 miles east of Cleveland that, until yesterday, was known for snow, the gazebo on the square, and maple syrup.
Many people have said: “How could it happen THERE?” It happened, in part, because the young man did not have an adequate support system to notice that things were not right. How blessed we all are to have THIS incredible community that supports all of us in good times and in bad. Please take a moment and pray for the victims, their families, the students who witnessed the shootings, the students who lost friends and classmates, and the entire community of Chardon.
Karen Gogue /Nanny-Granny in a 'let down now!' tummy coma ♥
This is such a tragedy – what a loss and my heart goes out to you all in Ohio …. ♥ and all the families ….
Dawn Conrad / Colorado
Sandy, I will be praying for all that have been touched by this sad, horrible tragedy. Living in Colorado, the memories of Columbine come flooding back whenever I hear of another school shooting. I pray each time to never have another occur.
Marty R / Colorado
Sandy,
Do you live very near Chardon? As Dawn said, having experienced Columbine, I know the effects of the tragedy spread beyond the immediate community.
I read that the prosecutor said the young man was “not well”. That underlines your statement that he did not have a support system to recognize that things were not right.
I pray that a feeling of peace and safety will return to that area for all.
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Hi Marty,
No – Chardon is in northern Geauga County. I am in an eastern suburb but still in Cuyahoga County. I’ve been there to visit – they have a cute “tea room” that serves the real British “high tea.” I don’t think the TV stations here are helping people to start healing by continuing to play the footage from Monday (it’s sort of like seeing the planes hit the twin towers over and over and over).

Prayers for ALL the bereaved. So sad.

This is horribly sad. I was watching the news at lunch yesterday, when the Breaking News came on that the 3rd young man lost his life, came back from lunch and Julie in Ontario, California has posted that her school is in LockDown and she hears the helicopters above her, my heart skipped beats, thank God everyone there is OK. I can only imagine the feeling of the people of Colorado, bring it all back ‘home’ again to the,. My prayers for everyone in Ohio, Colorado, Virginia and Julie and her school. Here is the email our principal sent out yesterday afternoon:
“As you know, we went into lockdown mode right at the beginning of first lunch. Montclair PD informed us they were in pursuit of an armed individual in the surrounding neighborhood on Galena St and Orchard. We were instructed to go into lockdown mode and immediately did so. We maintained communication with Montclair PD and waited for the all-clear message. The suspect was apprehended without incident. We then received the all-clear message.
We made an all-call to our parents and informed them of the situation and that their students were safe. The lockdown was a precautionary measure to ensure student safety. We informed out parents when the lockdown was lifted as well.
I want to thank the entire staff for remaining calm and acting swiftly to ensure the safety of our students. Feel free to provide this information to our students if they ask you.”
It was entirely a precautionary lockdown but it was certainly scary given what had just happened in Ohio!
Lisag in Texas
Thanks to the precautionary lockdown, lives may have been saved yesterday. HIGH HOOVES to the Montclair PD. Glad you all are safe.

You both are in my thoughts and prayers for a safe delivery and healthy babies, no matter what gender they are. Kisses to you Z and thanks to Dottie for all the wonderful information and keeping us up to date on all the things happening in your life now.

Oh Zenyatta! The time is getting very close. Safe and healthy is all I ask for. Everything else is gravy.

Dear Zenyatta. You are the most beautiful pregnant creature I have ever seen. Pregnancy becomes you my angel. You are Too Cute. Tasty you are beautiful too.
I wish I had stock in a tissue company now. With the upcoming births of Zennys foal and Tasty’s, Mike’s 5000 win and the unveiling of Zenyatta’s statue this fall, I think the tissue companys may have to increase their production. Many happy tears are sure to fall, many of which will be mine.
I am still catching up on posts from my week away. but I would like to say thank you to Sue Colvin and Dawn Conrad for welcoming me back. And yes, my vacation was wonderful. I am rested and my spirit and soul have been rejuvenated. We went to Myrtle Beach, Charleston SC, and Savannah Ga. Highly recommend these sites for those who love history and beautiful scenary and old homes. We took our dog Chalupa with us and she was good as gold until she saw the horse drawn carriages in Charleston. Then she suddenly became a yapper, which she is normally is not. I said “Chupy, stop being a redneck”. A couple walking near us laughed out loud. I thought of Terry Crow. Terry hope you are well. Sunday morning at 10:30 we were on top of Lookout Mountain in Chatanooga TN, looking out over that majestic view. I thought about Kari B and said a prayer for her and her family and friends. Love to all. Darlene Daniels

Zenny, I am so glad you are coming along good. That is just the best news.
@Dear Sis Dawn, So proud of you.
I would just like to say I think the idea of sneaking into Lane’s End is a fantastic one. I think if anyone could we on this site could get away with it. You think maybe we could Hijack one of those Salee Horse Vans, you know get a few horses in there so it would really look authentic and then we could all hide in there. It just might work……Pull into Lane’s End and before they figured out it wasn’t legite we could just sneak off. Hey, I don’t think if there was enough of us maybe they wouldn’t arrest us.
Oh, Oh, Oh, My Dear Zenny, I just got my Ocala Sales Catalog. March Mania, I am just thrilled. Such an impressive catalog. Zen your Bernie has two youngsters there., And you know I am just over the moon. my Darling A.P. Indy has a Colt in the sale (must be from his last crop. Hip # 126. Just a baby born April 5, 2010. Oh my. HOping I get to go, planning on it. Zenny so many of the major sires are represented. Oh and Zenny the filly that your Bernie has there is a gray or Roan Filly. I don’t know if I’ve missed it but I don’t think I have seen a gray by Bernie. Very exciting. Zenny I’ll tell you all about it I get to Go.
@ Sally, I will look for you. I have missed some post due to some sinus problems, but Sally I hope you will maybe see this. When I went back reading I sawwhere you said it might be your last post for a while, and I thought oh no i might have missed telling you..
So sorry about Algorithms, but wish him a speedy recovery. Oh my he’s going to be in Ocala too. I know he’s having surgery, but I sure would like to see him grazing in a pasture. Yeah, zenny I know that not going to happen, but a girl can wish. Love Ya Zenny

Love to everyone.

Peggy I didn’t know you were an Indy fan, oh my god he is my darling. I put a big lipsick kiss on his white nose last time I visited him at LE. He is a great sire and a sire of sires. What mare is the baby out of? I met a lady by his stall who had a filly by him and she showed me the picture, she looked exactly like Rags to Riches. Don’t know if she’ll be at the sale or not. Have you joined Indy’s facebook page? It is so great and they have pictures of many of his kids and grandkids, they are just beautiful. He also has pictures on LE facebook too. Hugs
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Hey Sue, I looked back at my book and the A.P. Indy colt ‘s Dam is Sharp Susan.. Has the family of Touch Gold and Deputy Minister. Dynaformer is Sharp Susan’s Dam Winter Gone’s Sire. It should be a very enterestin Colt to see Says he is a Dark Bay or Brown Colt. And, yes I just love Indy. I call him my best buddy. Just love going to visit him. I just haven’t decided to get on face book yet, although I think I am going to have too. You don’t by any chance know Sally B Do you? If you do tell her I will look for her in Ocala to say Hello.

Dearest Z–well, we’ve made it through another day, pacing and waiting patiently. On second thought, you might want to hurry it along before some of these crazy Auntie Dumplings get caught sneaking into LE. Too cute.

To all of the Z connections and Queen Z fans,
Changing the subject, the weekend of the Fountain of Youth at Gulfstream was really very special. There was palpable excitement and electricity in the air and it was sensed by the horses in the walking ring. Many of the horses became excited in the ring.
Union Rags was following the same course Barbaro had followed (in going to the Fountain of Youth and the Florida Derby). And he has the same trainer, Michael Matz, and his owner, Mrs. Phyllis Wyeth, is from Pennsylvania. Maybe the spirit of Barbaro was there at Gulfstream Park; animals are more sensitive than we humans.
He had an amazing win at Gulfstream. And congratulations to Mrs. Wyeth and Mr. Matz for his well deserved win and his great potential. Incidentally, Mrs. Wyeth’s parents bred Gone West. Gone West is the sire of Union Rags’ dam, Tempo.
There is a lovely story about Mrs. Wyeth in The Paulick Report.com.
P.S. What handsome boys Union Rags and Discreet Dancer are.

HI there our QUEEN, as we all wait and wait, some very anxiously, once again what I just wrote disappeared in a puff of smoke. So I will say briefly to all, really enjoyed your amusing posts today about THE EVENT OF THE YEAR foal watch. Very clever! :-) :-)
To my fellow S.A. Dumplings all, if this should occur on 3.3, give yourselves an extra hug and pretend I am there bringing down the rafters with you. I picture myself running (well ,trotting) down the Vegas strip shouting the news. That day is also our anniversary! However, still hoping for your date JAG…for you and JH.
@Malene in Denmark and Raylene in SoCal, a pleasure to meet you. Good night and wonderful mommy dreams to our QUEEN!
