Good Morning,
I hope all of you had a fabulous weekend. Mine was extremely pleasant and I really enjoyed getting to spend time in my new paddock and stall.
I wanted to share with you THE VIEW I have while I’m out grazing and relaxing in the field. It is terrific! I can literally see everything going on everywhere at the farm. You know I love this… I never want to miss a thing!
TASTY and I have so much room to stretch our legs and enjoy the sunshine. The weather has really been ‘cooperative’ lately. It is not nearly as cold in Lexington as it was last winter when I arrived here.
The weekend’s sporting events were ‘extremely competitive’. I’d mentioned on Friday that I love CLOSE FINISHES… and one could not have asked for a more exciting finish to a SUPER BOWL game than the one we had yesterday. The excitement and contention went down to the last few seconds… and the very last play! The Giants and the Patriots both played very well and had exceptional seasons! Congratulations to each… and a special HIGH HOOF to the N.Y. GIANTS on their victory! What a thrill for them to win 2 of the last 4 Super Bowls! This is a remarkable achievement!
As for my sport, what a weekend of great stakes activity. I’m sending my heartfelt congratulations to all of the winners! My BARN 55 pal, Mr. Commons, deserves a HIGH HOOF from ME for his victory in the Arcadia Handicap (G2). The 3 year old stakes around the country are starting to add some excitement to the Derby picture these days. I must compliment my guy, BERNIE, on the recent victories by some of his top 3 year old colts on the Road to the TRIPLE CROWN. Last week, Algorithms won the Holy Bull (G3) at Gulfstream and Saturday Alpha won the Withers Stake (G3) at Aqueduct! YEAH, BERNIE!
This is all so exciting!
Several people stopped Dottie at Santa Anita on Saturday asking about ME! Thank you so much! To answer several of the questions:
1) I am due at the beginning of March. Being that it is my first foal… one never knows if I will be late or early. I will definitely keep you posted as the month progresses as to how I am doing and ‘any changes’ in my ADORABLE BODY! (Blush, Blush!)
2) I do not know whether I am having a colt or a filly. No one does! My owners like to be ‘surprised’… so they do not have the tests done on their mares to determine this. So… we will ALL find out at the same time.
I must say… not knowing does add a definite element of EXCITEMENT to all of this.
3) TASTY is on the same exact schedule as I am… as we both conceived on the same day… April 3rd. She is in foal to Candy Ride.
4) I am with ALL of my same loving caretakers at my new barn. So is TASTY. This makes it so comfortable for us!
Thank you for asking!
From my new home to yours… here’s wishing you a very happy MONDAY!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Ms Zenyatta, Good, beautiful morning to you. I think of you constantly, I am so excited that your time is near, the First Born of Queen Zenyatta, my heart skipped a beat as I wrote that. God is sending us another gift soon. I do not know why, but I think you are having a son. He will reign as King, Zenyatta’s son, not a mere Prince, not your son, O no. I love you beautiful, I miss you. Maybe after you have you baby, Matt can get you some beer, it has been a long time since you had adult beverages. Talk with you soon, always……Lisag

Good Morning Zenny, Rather dull and overcast here today but it’s a very bright day in this house, we’re still glowing with joy at Vic’s good news from yesterday. Many, many thanks to all the dear Dumplings who expressed their congratulations, Vic is most appreciative. I am so very very proud of her and now have to start planning the next steps. I will be “going off to college” with Vic (she is not very skillful when it comes to independent living) and there is no student residence so I’ll be searching for a place to live. We’ll be able to come home some weekends, weather permitting, and it will only be for a year, it’s a Certificate course, so I expect the time will fly. The best thing of all is that Vic will be moving towards employment in an area of one of her special interests, crucial for people with Asperger’s Syndrome if they are to be employed successfully.
Have a happy day with Tasty, not long now Zenny. Hugs and kisses to you both.

Brenda, that is so wonderful about Vic, I bet you two are on cloud nine. What an exciting time it will be for her and you too. Please keep us posted, I have an adventuring soul too! HUGS to both of you.

Brenda-Just curious. Did Vic have to go to Buffalo to pick up her notification of acceptance?
Barbara Wood (Texas)
@Brenda S (Ontario)–congratulations to Vic. It sounds like you two are in for a great adventure!

Must ask your help here Zennie. Have you heard about the horse named Star Plus? He is a 9 yr old, racing in either Pennsylvania or Virginia (can’t remember which, or maybe it’s both). He’s was injured in 2008/2009, raced some in 2009 and then was sold to someone who promised they would no longer race him. Unfortunately he’s been in 3 races, losing by a combined total of 123 or so lengths. He is NOT healthy (has a bad ankle) and his new owners have gone against their promise. I was just wondering if you could have your connections investigate this. It seems as though someone should either offer to buy him (he’s NOT a gelding) for stud or at least to give him a home so he can live out his days in some kind of comfort. What’s happening to him amounts to abuse and gives horse racing and other wonderful owners (like your wonderful people) a bad name. It’s awful. Your buddy Mr. Commons posted about this on fb. I signed a petition, and offered to take him here in Ohio :) Reading about it broke my heart. You are so lucky to be where you are. And it has always shown in what a sweet wonderful mare you are around people. If you can lend a hoof (somehow), that would be great. Take care Zennie. Say hi to Tasty for me, and stay healthy!

This horse needs our help. Please read the article, share and sign the petition to let this horse retire with dignity like our beautiful Zenny. The original owner has tried to save his horse to no avail.

@Plushie Envy: Well, I guess if it comes down to it, I can use the date and time stamp on my credit card receipt to show I was one of the early ones. Doesn’t really matter, the Plushies are so cute I love them anyway. I rescue lots of things that don’t have papers so my Z Plushie and Baby Z will be just as precious to me.
@Zenny and Tasty: I’m loving the different views of that huge box stall with the deep straw! (And the windows where caring human friends can peek at you to make sure you’re okay – wink, wink!)
@TROTT and Second Race: I sure wish I could manage to be there the weekend of March 9 and 10 for the great fundraisers you are holding! (And who knows, maybe a reason to celebrate the birth of a certain heavenly foal?) If I win the lotto – I’m SO THERE!

Zenyatta, I am happy to hear that you are still enjoying your new home and your good view since you don’t like to miss a thing. I saw the Super Bowl while I was working-I did a lot of my work during commercial breaks. I never really cared who won. I thought I was leaning towards New England, but it doesn’t really matter to me. I missed horseracing, unfortunately, due to work. I am happy for Mr. Commons, Bernie’s relatives, and all of the other horses who won races this past weekend. I can’t wait for early March when you and Tasty have your foals.
