Happy Friday!
I wanted to share with YOU some of the new experiences taking place in my life these days! Needless to say, Tasty and I are personally sharing all of these activities together! We are having SO MUCH FUN!
Yesterday, I was hand-walked around my new paddock. Matt was with ME every moment throughout the ‘new adventure’. All of this one-to-one time was given so I could have every opportunity to ‘check it all out’ and get completely acquainted with every inch of my new grazing areas and outdoor surroundings. It took some time, but I truly enjoyed every single moment! My dear pal, MATT, is so sweet and incredibly patient with ME. After completely touring my new paddock area, I must tell you…I was so happy…I BEGAN TO DANCE!!
I am such a FORTUNATE HORSE!
It was also a special time for ME when I was introduced to MY NEW STALL. I’ve heard it was freshly painted recently getting ready for ME. (Great job, guys! It looks fabulous!) I have an open area in the upper portion of my stall door so I can put my head out and see everything going on in the shed row. You know ME…I don’t want to miss a thing! Also, this is great news! When we are in our new barn, TASTY’s stall is located directly across from ME…just like always…so we can relax, visit, and have a wonderful time! We are the best of friends!
My new stall in the ‘foaling barn’ is rather spacious, cheerful, and quite lovely. Being a very curious horse, once inside the stall for the first time, I wanted to investigate every inch of the space. It is absolutely perfect!
TASTY agrees! She is extremely happy with all of her new surroundings and experiences as well!
At this time, I’d also like to take a moment and thank you for sharing all of these special and cherished moments in my life with ME! It is such an exciting time!
Please enjoy your weekend and all of the great racing taking place around the country! It is our wonderful sport of Thoroughbred Horse Racing that brought ALL OF US together!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Also, Happy Super Bowl Sunday!)
Z
There is so much going on these days! I love it! Giants or Patriots….which is YOUR CHOICE??? I hope it is a close score! Championship games are so much more FUN to watch when they are really competitive! I guess you can say I am someone who loves the excitement in sports of CLOSE FINISHES!

Zenny, I loved the photos today and was especially happy to see you “dancing” again! I am so glad that Tasty and you are across from each other in your new digs, too. The two of you can take comfort in being close together and can swap stories and secrets. The time is getting short now — I guess you and Tasty are rounding the final turn and entering the home stretch. How exciting the finish will be!!!
Take care and have a fine weekend! All the best to every horse and rider competing this weekend (and always, too) — safe trips to all!
Love you, Beautiful Girl! Hugs to you and to Tasty T, too! Again, beaucoups of thanks to Dottie for helping you post this diary site, and thanks to all of Team Zenyatta!

@Karen Gogue–Absolutely great post in 429, thank you.
@Past the Grandstand– A truly inspiring story in post 429. Wishing all the best for Miss Fifty.
Sorry I didn’t finish my post from yesterday. Still trying to learn my new laptop and it locked up on me last night.
Sooo Zenny, thinking of you always and wishing, waiting, hoping all good things for you and Tasty.
Thinking and praying for those in need. Lotsa of love to all.

Z, thank you for sharing the news about yours and Tasty’s new home in the Foaling Barn. Your new stall looks so comfy with all that fluffy bedding, and it is nice that you will be able to stick your head out the door and keep your eye on things and talk to Tasty right across the aisle.
Thank you so much for sharing your activities and your thoughts with us. It is an absolute joy to read your posts!
I am keeping you and Tasty in my prayers for safe foalings and healthy foals.
Hope you beautiful mammas have a wonderful weekend grazing and watching the superbowl together :)
Dumplings, have a great weekend, and I hope to see some of you at Santa Anita Sat. !
Cynthia H./Santa Anita Girl
Arrived on front stoop: Plushie Zenyatta and foal. Delivery was swift and without complications. Mother and baby are doing well and are indescribably cuddly and heart-stealing. Sex of foal indeterminate. Enraptured owner goes retro, last seen in jammies, anticipating sweet dreams with new lullaby friends.

Very cute post. Sadly, my Plushies had not arrived when I got home from work last night. Was very disappointed, but maybe today. Did they arrive by regular mail or by UPS or other ground service? Can’t wait to get them.

It will not be a “blue Monday” for sure, Diana. Your co-workers will want one of their own, when they see it!

Zenyatta.. so glad to see you so happy. What a great facility and people to help you with this new stage in your life.
This weekend: Go Giants! Can’t stand Brady! Other than that, it will be a great margarita day. ;)
I agree with Monica.. Hope the Clydesdale’s are there. They are my fave. Boo! to the dot coms!
Love ya Zen!
Barb Zylbert
Hhm, lets see – she was bred in early April last year so Zenyatta could have a foal as early as a couple weeks from now and have a full term foal ( > 320 days gestation although better if she holds on a bit longer). Aw, maybe she will have an Aquarius baby!!! All the best Z.
LauraJ (Cincinnati OH)
I believe February 16th is Day 320. IIRC, she was covered April 3. (Don’t you just love that euphemism?) Getting close!
signofthetimes
Possible foaling time is Feb 27 to March 12 plus or
Minus 10 to 11 days, which is begins Feb 16 to 17 and
Goes to March 22 to 23.
A very wide range for possible foaling.

Dearest Zenyatta. I have not posted in a day or so because I have been so full of emotion I was speechless. The picture of you and Tasty being led to the foaling barn and then you alone being led into the the foaling barn with Matt filled me with a flood of emotion similar to what I felt when I moved my daughter to college her freshman year. “My little girl is all grown up now, and starting a new life”. I am so proud and love you so much. @Dear Dottie and John, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing Zenyatta with all of us. I never take it for granted. You do so much for all of us, IS there ANYTHING we can do for you to repay your dedication and kindness and love for all of us Zenyatta fans? @Matt, I can see the love you have for our Z through the pictures. I can only imagine what love you must have for her in real life, up close and personal. @Sarah, your pictures of Zenyatta always speak more than a thousand words. Thank You. @Tasty, I am so glad your foaling stall is right across from Z’s . You are the luckiest mare to be BFF with Zenyatta. I wish you all the best dear Tasty. @all my friends at this website, Thank you for all the love, teaching, comradship and good company you all have been. Love to all. And on a last note. May the best team win the Super Bowl. I’m torn between the two. But may I say, I am so proud of Indianapolis for a job well done with hosting the Super Bowl this year. God Bless to all. Good morning Zenny, Tasty, Babies 2B, Dottie & Zen-sters:
While catching up on some reading, I found an article on a UK foundation mare named…..wait for it…..MRS. MOSS!!!!
I downloaded the page & put the photo of her on Zenny’s Facebook page. Here’s the link (below). TOO CUTE, right?

The Super Bowl pales in comparison, momma Z, to the excitement I (and a LOT of other people) feel for your upcoming Big Day!!! You look so big and healthy, and I’m glad you have such wonderful caretakers watching your every step (and of course, Tasty’s!).
Please continue with the updates (I’m sure Dottie will not mind, if you ask politely :) because It’s getting so close!!! I can hardly wait :):)
Lexi
My dog, Sequoia, loved to watch you on TV. She was also big and full of heart, like you.
Yesterday, we had to have Sequoia put to sleep by the vet… She had bone cancer and was just in too much pain. My family all miss her and are struggling to cope… But one thing that is making us feel better is reading your diaries and watching your old races. You’re so brave and strong, just like Sequoia was.
I love you, Zenyatta!
Sally B. (cherish Z- Wi.)
I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Sequoia. It is so hard to make a decision like that. One does because you love them and want them in peace not pain. It just takes a chunk out of your heart. Hope time will heal.

Lexi, so sorry for your loss, I just lost one myself two months ago and I know it is heartbreaking. I have opened my heart to a new dog, a rescue, and maybe in time you can too. Hugs

@Lexi: Condolences on the loss of your great dog Sequoia. You made a hard decision that so many of us empathize with and so many of us know that knot in the gut that comes with it. Sequoia will meet you at the Rainbow Bridge, pain free and full of playfulness.

Lexi, I am very sorry for the loss of your dear Sequoia. What a beautitul name. It is always hard to do what is best for our sweet friends, but which hurts us the most. I know Sequoia will remain in your heart forever and that you will meet again. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Marshall (in NC)
So sorry about your loosing Sequoia, Lexi. I know how much it hurts and how empty the space is without her. As much as it breaks your heart, it is SO worth it. What they give us is absolutely priceless. She will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. Sequoia will always be in your heart and in your memories.
Take care of yourself. Hugs.

When you start dancing, I know your content and happy!
I’ve learned you are checked very often now. I am glad you’ll have the best of care love. You’ll be a mommie soon; God bless.
