Happy Friday!
I wanted to share with YOU some of the new experiences taking place in my life these days! Needless to say, Tasty and I are personally sharing all of these activities together! We are having SO MUCH FUN!
Yesterday, I was hand-walked around my new paddock. Matt was with ME every moment throughout the ‘new adventure’. All of this one-to-one time was given so I could have every opportunity to ‘check it all out’ and get completely acquainted with every inch of my new grazing areas and outdoor surroundings. It took some time, but I truly enjoyed every single moment! My dear pal, MATT, is so sweet and incredibly patient with ME. After completely touring my new paddock area, I must tell you…I was so happy…I BEGAN TO DANCE!!
I am such a FORTUNATE HORSE!
It was also a special time for ME when I was introduced to MY NEW STALL. I’ve heard it was freshly painted recently getting ready for ME. (Great job, guys! It looks fabulous!) I have an open area in the upper portion of my stall door so I can put my head out and see everything going on in the shed row. You know ME…I don’t want to miss a thing! Also, this is great news! When we are in our new barn, TASTY’s stall is located directly across from ME…just like always…so we can relax, visit, and have a wonderful time! We are the best of friends!
My new stall in the ‘foaling barn’ is rather spacious, cheerful, and quite lovely. Being a very curious horse, once inside the stall for the first time, I wanted to investigate every inch of the space. It is absolutely perfect!
TASTY agrees! She is extremely happy with all of her new surroundings and experiences as well!
At this time, I’d also like to take a moment and thank you for sharing all of these special and cherished moments in my life with ME! It is such an exciting time!
Please enjoy your weekend and all of the great racing taking place around the country! It is our wonderful sport of Thoroughbred Horse Racing that brought ALL OF US together!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Also, Happy Super Bowl Sunday!)
Z
There is so much going on these days! I love it! Giants or Patriots….which is YOUR CHOICE??? I hope it is a close score! Championship games are so much more FUN to watch when they are really competitive! I guess you can say I am someone who loves the excitement in sports of CLOSE FINISHES!

Deepest condolences to you and your dear friend, Eli’s mother, and all the family. He is indeed in a better place now, as tragic and shocking as this sudden loss is. I hope with all my heart that his sister will soon be able to take this view and move through grief to accept that which cannot be changed. Prayers for you and Eli’s family. RIP, Eli.

Kimberly, I am so sorry and will continue to pray for comfort for you and Eli’s family. It is a life changer to lose a loved one, but in time, perhaps the memories with Eli will also be a comfort.

Dear Kimberly & Eli’s family; Please accept my deepest sympathy with the loss of a son and a friend. May God give you strength to cope and understand day by day, one day at a time.
My sister lost her son at age 26 from an accident. Her son was my son’s best friend & cousin and was present when the accident occurred. My nephews brain did not stop swelling and yes, he passed away after 4 days or so. I will never forget the devastation to my sister’s & brother-in-laws heart, their life, and I was destroyed for them. Supporting one another is very important and also respecting time to be alone.
My sister sought prayer, went to church and sought grief counseling along the way. That is why I pray that as each day and months pass your pain will begin to lesson and you will know some day you will see him again. God had important plans for him.
God Bless all of you
Barbara Grimaldi/Skip & Juliet/NJ
Dearest Kimberly…I’ve been working on deadlines for almost two weeks now and just didn’t know anything about this. I love you and your family so much, and don’t know who Eli was but he was very important to you and yours, so I send you my sincerest condolences on his passing. You’ve had a tough up and down year, my friend, and I hope and pray you can understand and process this and get yourself and your family and friends through this very sad patch. If any of us can help you in any way, we are here for you…all on Zenyatta’s diary and without doubt EVERYONE on equi-army-NDO, where you are a cherished team mate. Skip

Wow Z I havent checked on here in a while! You know… life ;) I love the new set up of th site! Very cool! I am so excited for you Zenyatta! It won’t be much longer before your first baby is born! We all can’t wait for the pince/princess of racing, because you are the Queen!! I love you Zenny and you will always be my favorite racehorse EVER!!! :D
Joan Walls
Zenny – there is nothing left to be said that hasn’t already been said so eloquently. Thanks for the pictures and a look into your new stall! Enjoy the weekend. Enjoy your “talks” with Tasty. Hug and kisses to you and all of your loving team.
Kimberly Potter/Montana
My Beautiful Zenyatta~ When I look upon you and your beautiful baby bump, I am reminded that another precious life will soon be born. Of course, it won’t replace the one we just lost, but will bring overwelming joy to my life. I count the days now till I can rejoice in the birth of your baby.
I love you Big Mama!

Kimberly: My thoughts & prayers are with you. Take what comfort you can in the knowledge that love is eternal.

btw, I just read one of your diaries from not too long ago, and I bet you get tired of this (lol), but you gave me an idea for a baby name (if you haven’t already chosen one yet)- “Smelling the Roses”. Idk, just thought I’d mention it :) Love you soooo much Zenny!!!
Brenda S..Ontario, Canada
Zenny, Vic and I are home again with Vic almost doing a Zenny dance, she got to ride the thoroughbred mare. Bear is “wonderful, perfect, so gentle” (I still don’t like her name) and I swear that if Bear had tossed her and bitten her she would still have been wonderful. So, this has been a fantastic week, we’re on foal watch, you are dancing, you are close to Tasty, your new paddock is enormous and you are looking fantastic, what more could I ask for?? I’d love your foal for my birthday present but that would be too soon, so maybe next year. Have a wonderful weekend and cheer for the Patriots on Sunday. Hugs and kisses to you and Tasty.
Trina Nagele in So Cal
High hoof to Vic! As to the name “Bear,” do you like it better if you think of it as short for “Teddy Bear” (or “Theodora Bear,” perhaps more appropriately in this case)?
Brenda S..Ontario, Canada
Trina, I think “Teddy Bear” is better but I’d really like something more girly, she has such a pretty face.
Dawn Conrad / Colorado
Brenda, I am so glad that Vic finally got to ride her thoroughbred!!!!!!

Hello Pretty Girl…waiting patiently…for your baby! I know you will do well….take it very easy now…eat lots and don’t forget your exercise…I so wait….patiently – I must say! Ok…that’s an understatement! Almost! Yipee………………soon! I love you Zenyatta!
Fran
Hi Z! Your new stall looks wonderful. I am so glad you are still with Tasty. That makes it so nice for both of you. Do you have a bet “who is going to foal first?” Wouldn’t that be great if you both foal on the same day????? Just a couple of weeks to go now! Have a wonderful weekend Z and Tasty! Sending you smooches!
LouAnn Cingel of Union, Missouri
Thanks so much for sharing the great pics with us Zenyatta-really enjoy seeing your new home, sure looks comfortable. I must say, everyone there at Lane’s End is truly taking wonderful care of you and providing you with a beautiful space all your own. And it is fabulous that Tasty is right across from you so that you both are able to see and visit with each other while inside too.
You sure are looking so good too Zenyatta, bet you are getting excited for the upcoming birth of your little baby soon.
I am so thankful to have you as a part of my daily life as you have been for so long-I would be lost without you. Take care and have a super great weekend sweetie. Sending you my Love & Blessings along with hugs and kisses!

@Kimberly Potter–I am so sorry for what you and Eli’s family are going through during this time of unbearable loss. Would love to give you a hug if you weren’t a zillion miles away. I’ll save it for BC 2012. Virtual hugs and prayers.
@Dearest Z– I would love to see you dance! You are looking extremely large, but that just means pace, pace, pace. I wonder if Baby Z will be a dancer too! You and TT are so adorable together. I would love it if you could be pasture mates for life.

PACE…PACE…PACE
Margaret
Have you worn a path in the carpet yet? I’m working on it! Try not to follow the same path all the time–it’ll help cut down on the wear and tear!
But pacing is good! Have you considered learning how to canter yet?! Cantering is good exercise to work off the tummy! This I need to do…

Very cute Margaret and Carol!!!

Hi Z – You look fantastic. Hope your foal can dance as you do! Beautiful suite as it should be, nothing too good for the Queen. Think positive thoughts for the Giants Z!

The count is on Z and the days are going by so fast, it is about to happen before you know it. Tasty and yourself will be moms before you know it. How grand this is going to be, cannot wait to see your foals. Your are so loved Z and we all thank you for letting us share in your life, even though you say that you feel lucky to be in ours.
Karen
How exciting! It won’t be long now. So will there be more mares & foals in this paddock? It looks very large for just 2 horses.
Robyn Mullhausen
Zenyatta, you have one of the most beautiful “Mommy-to-Be Bellies” I’ve ever seen. There is just that much more of you to love. You and Tasty deserve the plush accommodations. :)
Robyn Mullhausen
A big thanks to Sarah for taking so many wonderful pictures for us to follow here. There would not be much to “follow” if not for Dottie, but Sarah’s photos just make it sweeter.
Dolores
Thankyou so much for sharing your days with us Zenyatta! and so cute you bring cutie Tasty into our lives! You both look lovely!

She’s still doing her dance. Love it!

A BIG THANK YOU goes to the person who turned us on to the foaling videos by Donna Vowles of Lanes End. I learned so much and feel so much better about the amazing care that Z and Tasty are getting. I pray that Z takes to being a first time mom and doesn’t need some of the extra support that they sometimes call on for foals. It’s not easy being a first-time mom!!
WE LOVE YOU WITH ALL OF OUR HEARTS, MOMMA Z!! And Tasty too!! Tasty takes such good care of our Z and Baby Z. I love the pictures of her standing over our Queen watching her as Z sleeps. So sweet….
I wonder if everyone can sense all of the pacing we are all doing these days…up and down….back and forth…I bet Team Z is happy to be busy or they would be going stir crazy!!
Janet Newman
Love to see you still like to dance! Matt is taking great care of you. You and Tasty look beautiful as always. I do not have a preference on the Super Bowl, hope it is a nail biter though.

Hi Barbara,
Thanks for the link to Valley View Ranch.
http://valleyviewranchequinerescue.webs.com/
I made my small donation. I forgot to mention it was in honor of Zeny becoming a mommy. Oh, well, I’ll donate again in March and this time make sure to indicate its Z’s baby shower gift.
The rescue I support in California is FOREVER FREE HORSE RESCUE
http://www.foreverfreehorserescue.com/
I made a visit to the ranch right after Christmas with my dad and sister. None of the horses are physically able to carry a rider any more; they all have various leg issues. One old guy is a former mounted police horse.
Foal watch 2012 !!! Can’t wait, can’t wait, can’t wait…..

Thanks, Especially Horses, for the link to the Forever Free Horse Rescue. I was very touched by the story of the lovely Squirty and how he inspired the founding of this beautiful equine sanctuary. High hoof!

Dear Her Royal Plumpness –
.
Your roundedness is most becoming, Dear Queen! You’re one of those very attractive “expectant” Mommies. It’s good to know that you are getting acquainted with your new paddock and spacious indoor area (hard to call it a “stall” as that sounds so un-Zenyatta-like), that was refurbished for The Big Event. I’m still keeping fingers crossed for a February 29 birth. Why not? You’ve been “different” in so many other ways! I wonder if a girl baby would then be named Sadie Hawkins? Hmmm… Probably not.
.
Horsie Hugs to TT&Z ~~HH

HH-Always good to hear from you.

@SallyB.
Euthanizing & cremating a dog/cat costs around $ 200. So, I would think if you have the money to own a horse you should have the money to see it through. You should have the $600.
Zee, you’re looking good :)
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Agreed!
DMCQ
Thank you ladies and amen to that.
Diana Stuart
Here in Phoenix, my furries are euthanized for $45 and cremated for $75. Euthanasia for a horse is around $300 in this area depending on what is done with the remains. The place that does my cremations – PALS – also does horses, so I will ask them an report back here for anyone’s reference.
diastu in tempe
Eveline / Maryland.
At our local place it cost a dollar per pound to cremate a horse or pony.
Sally B. (cherish Z- Wi.)
I agree. The point they made on TV was that by selling for slaughter the owner can make money versus spending up to $600 to euthenize. That disgusts me trying to make money selling a horse to slaughter for their meat after their usefulness is gone. Such cold-heartedness; not to mention the inhumane way of killing a horse.
Lynne
Zenyatta – we are all waiting with you for the birth of your baby foal.
Love you lots!!

Hi Zenyatta. Just loved your diary today. Thank you Zenyatta for conveying your innermost thoughts to Dottie, it was awesome. You and Tasty look beautiful – you are simply gorgeous as a mommy to be, just incredible. I am so happy you love your new paddock area and foaling stall, yea, just across from Tasty, how perfect!! And, wow, you dancing at being so happy. I love that the most. I am sure your baby will be born with his/her dancing shoes on! Love you so – getting ready for a great weekend of racing. Just let everyone be safe this weekend. Go Giants, we are originally from New Jersey. Love you big girl, stay comfy, kiss Matt for us, eat well and have a great time sharing experiences with Tasty. Love you, Angels.
Paula Higgins
Loved this post Zenny/Dottie. I don’t think Zenny is quite ready to deliver yet, but soon. Her new home is very attractive and fresh looking. They do a nice job getting their mares ready for birth. I think she is in very good hands, which is very comforting to her family and her fans.
Linda/Maryland
OMG ~ Zenny the time is getting so close!! The whole world is awaiting your baby!!! I cannot wait to see him/her. Did anyone have a baby shower for you? If so give us the details!!!
LOVE YOU ~!!!
Barbara Wood (Texas)
@Especially Horses–thank you so much! That is great. My donations are small too. I just looked at our Equi-Army list , and Forever Free is on it. I hope we can get to know them. I sent them of letter of introduction from us. If you talk to them, tell them you know me, ok?
Hugs.
