Happy Friday!
I wanted to share with YOU some of the new experiences taking place in my life these days! Needless to say, Tasty and I are personally sharing all of these activities together! We are having SO MUCH FUN!
Yesterday, I was hand-walked around my new paddock. Matt was with ME every moment throughout the ‘new adventure’. All of this one-to-one time was given so I could have every opportunity to ‘check it all out’ and get completely acquainted with every inch of my new grazing areas and outdoor surroundings. It took some time, but I truly enjoyed every single moment! My dear pal, MATT, is so sweet and incredibly patient with ME. After completely touring my new paddock area, I must tell you…I was so happy…I BEGAN TO DANCE!!
I am such a FORTUNATE HORSE!
It was also a special time for ME when I was introduced to MY NEW STALL. I’ve heard it was freshly painted recently getting ready for ME. (Great job, guys! It looks fabulous!) I have an open area in the upper portion of my stall door so I can put my head out and see everything going on in the shed row. You know ME…I don’t want to miss a thing! Also, this is great news! When we are in our new barn, TASTY’s stall is located directly across from ME…just like always…so we can relax, visit, and have a wonderful time! We are the best of friends!
My new stall in the ‘foaling barn’ is rather spacious, cheerful, and quite lovely. Being a very curious horse, once inside the stall for the first time, I wanted to investigate every inch of the space. It is absolutely perfect!
TASTY agrees! She is extremely happy with all of her new surroundings and experiences as well!
At this time, I’d also like to take a moment and thank you for sharing all of these special and cherished moments in my life with ME! It is such an exciting time!
Please enjoy your weekend and all of the great racing taking place around the country! It is our wonderful sport of Thoroughbred Horse Racing that brought ALL OF US together!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Also, Happy Super Bowl Sunday!)
Z
There is so much going on these days! I love it! Giants or Patriots….which is YOUR CHOICE??? I hope it is a close score! Championship games are so much more FUN to watch when they are really competitive! I guess you can say I am someone who loves the excitement in sports of CLOSE FINISHES!
Kim
Zenny-You definately like close finishes!! I’m pulling for the Giants. Go Eli!!
Love You, Big Mare
Margaret
Z is looking pregnant but she is not ready to foal yet. On that first picture the area in front of her hind legs–that portion of her tummy will drop when she’s getting ready. Think of it as a woman who’s baby has dropped. Same thing. This is the time that the baby will turn for presentation.
It’ll look like a great big hay belly. Plus while we probably won’t see the pictures her bag of milk will hopefully come in right on time.
No Zenyatta is definitely not quite ready yet.
Due Date? Anytime after Feb 26. That’s the 330 day.
ANOTHER PACING AUNTIE! WHO’S TRYING FOR PATIENCE! AND IT ISN’T EASY!
Audrey

Thank you so much for the pictures! It is exciting waiting to see when you will foal and if you have a colt or filly. Have fun in your new suroundings!

Hi Zenny, I’m so happy to see you dance and acclimating so well to your new surroundings. Your new stall looks fabulous and it warmed my heart to see Matt giving you a soothing pat as you checked everything out. He’s taking good care of you! I’m glad Tasty is right across the way. When I board my dogs at the kennel I always insist they put them in runs across from each other so they can see each other and take comfort in having their “sibling” close by. It’s good to have a best girlfriend to share this with. Now, I must say, you look like you are ready to pop any minute! How exciting! The birth of your zendini is one of the most eagerly awaited births this year! :)) When will the Mosses, Your John and Dottie head to KY? I’m sure they will be there for the birth of your baby! So glad that you and Tasty are happy in your temporary home. Love the pic of you dancing!! Thank you for the updates!!!

Hi, Zenny! I am so happy to see all the preparations for your special event which is getting so close. I have to say I’m glad to see the stall because I worried about you being out in the cold all night. I know the people around you know best and are taking perfect care of you. Maybe it’s because I don’t handle the cold so well. You look terrific. I love you so.
Molly
Zenyatta you are soooo cute doing those dance steps. I would not be surprised if your foal came dancing out. You always seem to meet new challenges and experiences with such exuberance and joy. Hugs, kisses, lots of love, carrots and of course, peppermints for you and Tasty.

i know what you mean by CLOSE FINISHES! im a sophomore at warren woods tower high school i run track and cross country and during my freshmen track year i was put into a race that i didnt run i was used to the 2 mile but this one was a relay race so i was with 3 other people they had to run a 100m then a 200m then a 300m and i ran the 600m i was last to go mostly cause of my kick at the end of the race! so when i got my chance to go i was in second and at the last turn another girl passed me and when it came down to the stretch i had to sprint as fast as i could i caught up to them which were tied and it was neck and neck between us three it was so intense! i looked up and saw the finish line was RIGHT there and pushed harder and won by two or three steps! which is close to being a freshmen going up against a senior sprinter!

Congratulations, Lindy.

Way to go, LIndy. I was in a few like that when I was running, although you would never know it if you saw me today. Please keep posting. Horse racing needs all of the young fans it can get.

So happy that you are happy with your accommodations. Particularly glad to hear that your stall door has an open area so that you can keep track of all that is going on — you have now taken charge as Foaling Barn Factotum.

The excitement is growing. Waiting, waiting and waiting. It will be a Grand arrival of the new one.
Delrene in Carlsbad, Ca
That’s right. Your plushie is being mailed to those who purchased this week. Can’t wait! Loved the puppy bowl link. Such a kick in the pants to watch them. Interesting about the background and how much effort goes into putting that show together. I always get such a kick out of the halftime kitty show!
Off to help out with Coastal German Shepherd Rescue this p.m. – today is a swim party for some of the dogs, for time out of the kennel, muscle and confidence building . They enjoy it so much
Another rescue in need of funds is the one in Louisiana re: the horses in Many, La. If you go to the HorseandMan blog there is some information as to where to send funds and to see what is being done for these remaining animals. I have no affiliation with them, just mentioning that for lots of groups, February is a lean month.
Take care all.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Thank you, Delrene. The bucket fund goes through this month, so if funds are tight, there are quite a few days left still.
DMCQ
Thank you Delrene and Barbara. It’s important to help those groups that had a huge rescue effort and will feel the financial impact for quite some time. They opened their hearts and I hope we will too.

Well, I got really curious about Tasty Temptation and had to look her up on Bloodhorse “Horse Profiles.” She was quite a racer at Woodbine! Here is a video of her fourth straight win with odds of 5/7–enjoy:

Thank you, Rachel, I enjoyed watching Tatsy’s race. I wonder if she always closed like that.

What fun to see Tasty “run like a girl”.

Thank you, Rachel. I really enjoyed seeing Tasty racing!

Rachel, Thanks for the video of Tasty winning the Hill n Dale. I live less than 2 hours drive from Woodbine but never saw her race.

Zenyatta – your new crib looks fabulous! I wish I could have seen you dance though.
Jane (southern California)
What a fantastic foaling barn and paddock you have! Nice and roomy!
Have a wonderful, peaceful day Zenyatta and baby “Z”! xoxoxo
Thanks for the updated pictures Dottie! We appreciate it so much!

Your new stall looks fabulous! I know with each day you and Tasty are getting the very best care. You have such a wonderful and dedicated team. Dottie is just as awesome with keeping us update on your status. The weather has been great. I hope it remains decent so that you can enjoy your last few days as a pre-mommy. Once the little one is here, you will be so busy taking care of its every need. I know you are so excited! You are such an inspiration and so beautiful. Have a great weekend and tell Tasty I am asking about her.
Kathy Baldwin
TOO, TOO CUTE! LOVE THE PHOTOS! LOVE YOU! Thanks so much to you, dear Zenny and Dottie for today’s wonderful and happy post. So glad that you and Tasty

I am so glad you still like to dance. You look great and so does Tasty. Looking foward to both of the babies. What a handsome pair they will be. Hopr you have a quiet and restful weekend too. Good Luck to Mr. Commons. Will be pulling for him. Your sis had a workout also. Looking foward to her debute also. I hope it is not going to rain all weekend there like it is supposed to here. We are only 4 hours south. Have a great weekend all.
Kathy S.
Oh Zenny, YOU are our DANCING QUEEN. And we all are hoping BABY will be a dancer, too. Just like his/her MOM.
Mary
Wonderful pictures and thank you for the update on how you are doing, Zenyatta.
Looks like a nice place for you to have your foal. Anxiously awaiting.
Wonder who will be first, you or Tasty. (I know how you like to be 1st :) )
Hugs and Prayers
Nancy
Love you, Z. You are still the Queen.
PatB from NM
After first noticing your muddy exterior, my second thought was, “She’s dancing! How wonderful that she still does that!” I remember when some said your dancing was nervous (racing) energy being dissipated. Now we know for sure it’s just an expression of your particular and delightful way of showing your joy and excitement.
There’s been some implication that RA’s rambunctious little one has been exhausting her. I have an idea. Have TT baby sit when you need a break–you could do that for each other. I’d certainly do that for you–just say the word!
Love you always, Z.
Brenda S..Ontario, Canada
Dear Zenny, A quick line to say how delighted I am that you’re happy with your new digs and that you’re able to see Tasty and keep track of everything happening in the barn. So nice to see that you are just being a horse, I love the pictures of you fresh from the spa but I think I like the “muddy, just had a good roll in the mud puddle” Zenny just as much. Thanks to Sarah for the pictures, she is so thoughtful, knowing what a lot of worry warts we are, wearing out the carpets and hardwood. Will read more posts when I get back from Vic’s riding lesson, she’s got everything crossed that today is the day she finally gets to ride a thoroughbred.
Irene Caty
Hi Zenny, Your new stall looks real nice for you and big enough for your foal also, after all there will be two of you in there. I’m glad that you are happy with your new stall and also your paddock. I just love seeing that you are still dancing. It is one of your best uniqueness. You have so many talents and your dancing just puts ice cream on the pie. Now that is a human saying meaning you can’t top that and it is a true fact that no horse can top your talents. This is quite an exciting time for you and Tasty and once you both have your foals it will be fun days for both of you. Wishing you both the best and sending my love to you big Z.
Andrea from Germny
I am getting so excited, not much time left! Sending you hugs. Love you Zenny.
Terry Crow
Andrea-Your home is far from Kentucky, but I’m sure Zenny can feel the vibes. Please keep posting.
Sharyn - Vermont
Beautiful way to end the week with seeing you in your new surroundings and all the special care you and Tasty are getting!!
Loved seeing the videos yesterday that Lane’s End posted on the foaling barn and procedures – sure is a top notch facility!! And that they watch you all so closely!!
Enjoy a relaxing weekend and hooves crossed for Mr. Commons and Mike tomorrow!!
