Happy Friday!
I wanted to share with YOU some of the new experiences taking place in my life these days! Needless to say, Tasty and I are personally sharing all of these activities together! We are having SO MUCH FUN!
Yesterday, I was hand-walked around my new paddock. Matt was with ME every moment throughout the ‘new adventure’. All of this one-to-one time was given so I could have every opportunity to ‘check it all out’ and get completely acquainted with every inch of my new grazing areas and outdoor surroundings. It took some time, but I truly enjoyed every single moment! My dear pal, MATT, is so sweet and incredibly patient with ME. After completely touring my new paddock area, I must tell you…I was so happy…I BEGAN TO DANCE!!
I am such a FORTUNATE HORSE!
It was also a special time for ME when I was introduced to MY NEW STALL. I’ve heard it was freshly painted recently getting ready for ME. (Great job, guys! It looks fabulous!) I have an open area in the upper portion of my stall door so I can put my head out and see everything going on in the shed row. You know ME…I don’t want to miss a thing! Also, this is great news! When we are in our new barn, TASTY’s stall is located directly across from ME…just like always…so we can relax, visit, and have a wonderful time! We are the best of friends!
My new stall in the ‘foaling barn’ is rather spacious, cheerful, and quite lovely. Being a very curious horse, once inside the stall for the first time, I wanted to investigate every inch of the space. It is absolutely perfect!
TASTY agrees! She is extremely happy with all of her new surroundings and experiences as well!
At this time, I’d also like to take a moment and thank you for sharing all of these special and cherished moments in my life with ME! It is such an exciting time!
Please enjoy your weekend and all of the great racing taking place around the country! It is our wonderful sport of Thoroughbred Horse Racing that brought ALL OF US together!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Also, Happy Super Bowl Sunday!)
Z
There is so much going on these days! I love it! Giants or Patriots….which is YOUR CHOICE??? I hope it is a close score! Championship games are so much more FUN to watch when they are really competitive! I guess you can say I am someone who loves the excitement in sports of CLOSE FINISHES!

So thankful for all the updates. Can’t wait for the birth of the baby. Can you tell us who Tasty was bred to.
Kimberly Potter/Montana
Tasty was bred to Candy Ride.
Denise in AZ
I thought is was Medaglia D’oro– or was that her first paddock pal?
sharon in seattle
I’ve always heard it was Candy Ride. I’m pretty sure that Medaglia d Oro was the sire of Rachel Alexandra.
Joanna from TX
Medaglia D’Oro is Tasty’s sire (she is 1/2 sis to Rachel A.)
Denise in AZ
Thanks Joanna- knew there was a connection! He is my favorite :)
Cynthia H./Santa Anita Girl
Medaglia D’oro is my dream match for Zenyatta!

Zen; Thank you so much for the updates. I am so excited about the soon to be birth of your little one. I’ve followed the sport of racing for well over twenty years, and have seen most of the greats run. I have never-ever been so attached or touched as I have been with you. You have brought such thrills and excitement to my life; I am just excited today, as I was the first time I saw you dance your way onto a track. You danced your way right into my heart Z. I’m sending you and Tasty a big hug, and lots of love as you begin your new journey in life!!

I love that you are the Dancing Queen again!
I’m another one who thought that you would love a third career as a dressage performer. I hope the Mosses will consider that if they ever decide to retire you as a broodmare. I can just see you winning Gold in the Olympics to cap off your lifetime achievements.
Only about a month to go, Zenyatta! I’m sure you’re as eager to meet your new baby as we are! I’ll bet s/he comes out with hooves tapping, ready to dance with you!
Jeanenne Cliffman
Good morning Mamma Z, I love you and look forward to your posts. You and Tasty are so very fortunate and loved loved loved. Your new barn and paddock are just wonderful and I know Matt and everyone take GREAT care of you. Have an awesome weekend. Love you so much. xxxxoooo

Dearest Zenyatta,
I so enjoyed the pics of your new stall and paddock. I must say, You and Tasty are definitely treated like royalty! And how nice that you’ll be able to see each other in the barn. It’s so important for you horses to be able to see your best friends and know that you are together and safe. I’m sure your new babies are going to grow up to be the best of friends, too! :)
It’s getting quite stormy here today. No rain yet, but the clouds are menacing and the wind is whipping. I hope the weather remains nice for you over the weekend and that you’ll have a chance to enjoy all the racing and graded stakes around the country, along with the Super Bowl.
As I look over the calendar for the month of February, I notice that the full moon is on the 21st. That might be a little early for you to deliver, but sometimes Mother Nature does have her say about these things! :) In any case, I’m counting the days.
Love to You and Tasty,
Stel

My Beautiful Zenyatta~ Your post today brought me too tears. (They flow easily theses days, but just the site of you brings me to tears everday.) There couldn’t be a better place in the entire world for you to be, but Lane’s End. Just knowing how happy and well taken care of you (and TT) are brings me peace and comfort in these very trying times.
Thany you Zenyatta (Dottie) and ALL of your team for keeping all of us fans involved in your life on such a personal level. It makes me feel like we are treated like Royalty….just like YOU, My QUEEN!!!!!
Go Giants!!!!
Love and Hugz to ALL

Oh my dear…that is a first…you NOT looking absoutely stunning. LOLOL I don’t mean about the pregnancy, but you look like you had recently had a bit of a mud bath and they didn’t clean you up for pictures. Tsk, tsk. You are looking ready to foal and heres to a safe and healthy birthing.
Keta
Black Cavier has a web site. It is quite different from Zenyatta or other USA horse sites. And, it has a betting area on it.
Just thought you’d might want see how a Australian racing star site looks.

It was so interesting watching the Samantha video on the foaling barn & process.
Ties in nicely with Z move.
Happy Friday & have a Super weekend!

Happy Friday to you Zenny! Thanks for sharing your pictures of your new surroundings. Glad to see Tasty is enjoying it too! Exciting times are ahead of you and all the expectant moms! Enjoy this “spring like” weather we are having!
Looking forward to so many great races this weekend…Good Luck to Mr. Commons!
victoria
Yes, Z — you are the champion of CLOSE FINISHES, but also of some not so close like when you would just fly down the stretch leaving them so behind!! thanks for sharing with us the “play by play” of your new digs and new routines. Glad they had the foresight to put Tasty right across from you — this way you both have continued girl talk and comfort. your paddock looks beautiful — good bluegrass. Nice clear views. Yes, the sport brought us all together. Have a wonderful weekend and I am rooting for my hometown, team THE GIANTS! I may go see Mr., Commons run tomorrow at one of your fav places, SANTA ANITA. they call that the “The place where Zenyatta ran her greatest race” on HRTV!!! n Personally, every race at every place you were, can boast the same.

i love the new place! so happy for you. can’t wait so excited! love and hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My gosh it looks like your foal is going to be a big one. When I saw the picture of you dancing I had to shed a few tears. You are so spectacular and unique. I admire your spunk. I certainly didn’t feel like dancing when I was in the last few weeks of pregnancy and my son only weighed 6 lbs 4 oz! It also warmed my heart to know that you and Tasty have each other and can see each other both outside and inside. I have to admit I think I am more excited about the birth of your foal than I would be if it were my own grandchild. I can hardly wait to check your website every morning to see if the big event has happened yet.
A million thanks to Dottie, Matt & Sarah for all the updates and the Moss’s for always
having been willing to share you with us.
Prayers for a safe delivery for you and BFF Tasty.
Get lots of rest because I imagine your little one will be energetic and curious like you.
Tick Tock Tick Tock
Hugs & nose kisses.
P.S. Good luck and a safe trip for MR. COMMONS.

Dear Z, TT, Dottie and Z Fans:
Sounds like Lane’s End has prepared everything perfectly for you and TT. Praying for easy and safe deliveries. Dottie, can’t thank you and Team Z enough for sharing Z with all of us. Means so much. So looking forward to seeing Little Z and Little TT. Love you and love to all of you, Judy and Russ

Celeste/ Massachusetts
Being from Massachusetts, I am a Patriots fan!
Zenyatta, love the pictures. I agree with so many others who posted today, your belly is very big!!! You look so great and maternal. I had a big belly when I had my twins; they weighed 7lbs. 9 ozs. and 7lbs. 11ozs. and were born on their due date!!! They were very healthy, so I’m sure your baby is too.
Enjoy your new surroundings; I don’t think we have much longer to wait.
Margie from SoCal
Zenny, I’m so darn excited for you! And for all of us who love you so very much. I’m grateful to Lane’s End for their exceptional care of you and Tasty, too. I’m sure the same applies to all those blessed to be in their care. A Prince or Princess is about to come into our world and I can’t wait to see who this precious baby becomes over the years. Zenny, may your dancing go on forever! It lightens our spirits and warms our hearts. Love you, Horse of my Heart.
Good luck to both Super Bowl participants. May the best team win, and as in Zenny’s sport, may they all come home safely.
A wonderful weekend to everyone (Santa Anita Dumplings – have a blast!), and that means Zenny and Tasty, too!
Thanks, Dottie :-)

I’m so glad you’re sharing all this news and these wonderful pictures with us. You’re about to be very busy, but please keep posting! I can’t wait to see your baby!

Judy, even though the image of Zenyatta is written so deeply in our hearts, seeing this video again just makes the love I have for her stronger. She is an enchanted horse–almost not of this world–a dream horse, a sprite in a horse’s body–a great gift from the universe. You see this and then you start to cry all over again because the love for her bubbles over…please, God, be with this majestic and magnificent mare as she delivers her foal…may the love we all have for her envelop her as she waits these last few days. I love horses…but this one moves me so deeply that I cannot understand it. Stories of our fey Queen and her wonderful friend Tasty are so charming and loving and friendly that I feel I am in that barn hearing those two horses communicate. Dottie, today’s message was so sensitively done that it makes us just fall in love with Zenyatta all over again. And dear Tasty, too. Thank you for keeping us close to her.
Judy, I miss you.

Good Morning Miss Zennie and team,
I am so glad you and Dottie are sharing all this new information with us! It is so interesting to see not only your new digs, but to see you exploring them. And so eagerly. New things dont trouble you! Will you go and stay in the foaling barn now until delivery, or keep visiting until time is closer? I do imagine all the walking around is helping to keep you in good shape!
Like many on this list, I am not familiar with the details of foaling, before and after. Of course, the birthing is not much different from delivering puppies except they are a LOT bigger and there is just one! But before care and after care has to be just about the same. Thank you SO much for keeping us in “the know” about progress.
A quick brag, BIG BRAG, about my dogs! This past weekend at a big show in San Francisco, I finished the championship on not one but TWO of my vizslas! Brook finished on Saturday with a 5 point major (the most points any dog can get at any show!), she is just 18 months old. On Sunday I finished her half brother (same mother) Oli with a 4 point major! Both were breeder/owner/handled by ME and I am so very proud of them, and of my breeding program.
I love the view from CLOUD 18. That’s what happens when you are on Cloud 9 TWICE!!
Hang in there, Zen, keep those ears forward and keep dancing!
Hugs from California,
Lynn M

Congratulations Lynn on your wins. I just love the dog shows.
MaggieN
Lynn, congratulations on your win! My Mastiff got kicked out of puppy kindergarten.
Z, I wish I looked as good as you do when I was pregnant. I’m 5ft 1, and I swear my belly was big as yours
Joanna from TX
Oh big congrats on the wins with your Vislas! The Cow Palace show used to be a very distinguished affair and a bench show to boot; maybe that’s still the case. And to get a 5 pointer with a youngster is great. I showed Afghans and parents’ Beagles back in the 60’s and 70’s…wonderful memories of those times.
Sue Fredrick - Wisconsin
Congratulations Lynn on such a fabulous win with both dogs!! I used to show Afghan Hounds and always loved the competition, although at times it can be very political. I managed to owner handle my “Strutin’ My Stuff” to his championship, always competing against professional handlers. You did it all…….FANTASTIC!
Keta
Lynn,
Wow! That is great.
Are you going to the Garden/Westminster?
You should be on Cloud 18.

Congratulations, Lynn!!! You have every right to brag. Best wishes for more championships.

Congratulations on the wins of your two doggies. That is wonderful and especially doing it on your own – wow! Way to go!

Congratulations Lynn. Vizslas are such beautiful sporting dogs. Do you participate in field trails as well? My sister and I use to do some showing with our German Shorthaired Pointers. Recently my sister had a show Boxer she had professionally handled. Rhett was pointed which in itself was a thrill for a novice show owner.

Big High Hoof and Paw to you and your pups! Congratulations! Enjoy the view from Cloud 18.

Congrats on your wins! LOVE watch dog shows!!!! I have learned so much about each breed of dogs just by watching. Vizslas are so beautiful! I am a golden fan. I have 2 goldens but it seems that goldens never win in the major shows. lol thats ok I still like watching and rooting for them. lol
Congrats again! What an accomplishment! You must be so proud! To know that you breed them, trained them, showed them and won is just incredible!!! Huggs and kisses sent your way from Rudolph, Reese and myself from Maine!

I’ll take the New York Giants – Just like I did last time the faced the Pats….
Zenny – I can’t wait to see your foal…. I am hoping that they have hired a full time photographer to capture this wonder time in your life…. even if not all of it is shared with us…. this IS HISTORY in the making. But if we were to see wonderful video of the birth YOUR foal that would be icing on the cake!!!!
Thank you again for the update and the AWESOME pictures of your new stall and paddock!!! Lane’s End – The Mosss’ and Dottie ROCK – you guys are just the best to get us so close to this side of racing. THANK YOU!!!!!
Hugs and Love
P.S. – I have been spreading the word trying to get Zenyatta to 100,000 Facebook Fans before her foal is born. Please help out by asking Friends and Family to LIKE Zenyatta’s Facebook Page.
