Happy Friday!
I wanted to share with YOU some of the new experiences taking place in my life these days! Needless to say, Tasty and I are personally sharing all of these activities together! We are having SO MUCH FUN!
Yesterday, I was hand-walked around my new paddock. Matt was with ME every moment throughout the ‘new adventure’. All of this one-to-one time was given so I could have every opportunity to ‘check it all out’ and get completely acquainted with every inch of my new grazing areas and outdoor surroundings. It took some time, but I truly enjoyed every single moment! My dear pal, MATT, is so sweet and incredibly patient with ME. After completely touring my new paddock area, I must tell you…I was so happy…I BEGAN TO DANCE!!
I am such a FORTUNATE HORSE!
It was also a special time for ME when I was introduced to MY NEW STALL. I’ve heard it was freshly painted recently getting ready for ME. (Great job, guys! It looks fabulous!) I have an open area in the upper portion of my stall door so I can put my head out and see everything going on in the shed row. You know ME…I don’t want to miss a thing! Also, this is great news! When we are in our new barn, TASTY’s stall is located directly across from ME…just like always…so we can relax, visit, and have a wonderful time! We are the best of friends!
My new stall in the ‘foaling barn’ is rather spacious, cheerful, and quite lovely. Being a very curious horse, once inside the stall for the first time, I wanted to investigate every inch of the space. It is absolutely perfect!
TASTY agrees! She is extremely happy with all of her new surroundings and experiences as well!
At this time, I’d also like to take a moment and thank you for sharing all of these special and cherished moments in my life with ME! It is such an exciting time!
Please enjoy your weekend and all of the great racing taking place around the country! It is our wonderful sport of Thoroughbred Horse Racing that brought ALL OF US together!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Also, Happy Super Bowl Sunday!)

There is so much going on these days! I love it! Giants or Patriots….which is YOUR CHOICE??? I hope it is a close score! Championship games are so much more FUN to watch when they are really competitive! I guess you can say I am someone who loves the excitement in sports of CLOSE FINISHES!

Dear Kari, I was going to put a redneck joke here this morning, but after reading about your ordeal, I almost decided not to. Then thought that over and maybe it’s what we all need now and then. Just a silly old joke! So … here goes…
Did you hear that the Redneck Governor’s
Mansion burned down?
‘Yep… Prit’near took out the whole trailer park. The library
Was a total loss too. Both books went poof – Up in flames!
And the Governor hadn’t even finished colorin’ one of ’em.’

Judy Berube, even though the image of Zenyatta is written so deeply in our hearts, seeing this video again just makes the love I have for her stronger. She is an enchanted horse–almost not of this world–a dream horse, a sprite in a horse’s body–a great gift from the universe. You see this and then you start to cry all over again because the love for her bubbles over…please, God, be with this majestic and magnificent mare as she delivers her foal…may the love we all have for her envelop her as she waits these last few days. I love horses…but this one moves me so deeply that I cannot understand it. Stories of our fey Queen and her wonderful friend Tasty are so charming and loving and friendly that I feel I am in that barn hearing those two horses communicate. Dottie, today’s message was so sensitively done that it makes us just fall in love with Zenyatta all over again. And dear Tasty, too. Thank you for keeping us close to her.
Judy, I miss you.

Dear Barbara (Skip) G.:
Miss you too and I feel exactly the same way about Z. So thankful for you and all Z’sters who have become so special to me. Z’s Diary makes my days better. Love and Hugs, JB

Wow Zenny- You look great!!! It seems like just yesterday I was hearing that you were in foal and now here it is almost time for the little ones arrival. I am getting excited! I’m so glad you have such a nice place to relax in until the big day. And to be able to share everything with Tasty–What a blessing! As for the super bowl- I live very close to Gillette Stadium so I am hoping that Bob Kraft and the Patriots bring home the trophy! Go Pats!! :)

Dear Laura J. and Z Fans:
Just found this list of Nominees for the Kentucky Derby and thought of you, Laura, and Better Step Aside. One of the colts listed is Let’s Get Crackin, a son of Eddington. Seven colts on the list are sons of Bernardini. Hugs, JB

Thanks, Judy! I hope the Eddington son does well and makes it to the Derby. Bernie is sure to be represented.
Step races on Tuesday. He hasn’t won yet, but comes in second a lot. Maybe it’s something psychological. Oh, well, At least he makes money.

Thanks so much Judy B, for sending this wonderful link to me and Alpha’s race.
What a talent; I also really like Consortium; and the link to Bernie, AP Indy, Slew and Secretariat plus Street Cry and Machivalian is a really awesome pedigree. Sure hope
he does well this year. It is all in the genes and how they rearrange themselves !!!!!

A sunny Sunday here in Fort Erie and so much to catch up that I am getting a “numb bum” sitting at the computer. Very busy yesterday, never even logged on so here goes.
Congratulations to Mr. Commons and connections and Bernie’s Alpha.
Congratulations to all the Dumplings who received their plushie – I”M still waiting!!! I can’t even blame Canada Post since I had it sent to my US post box in Buffalo.
To Dawn and Marty R – Heard on the news this morning that parts of Colorado got a foot of snow so I hope you are O.K.
To Terry C – I think that there may some similarities in weddings between Canada and Utah altho I haven’t been to a wedding in quite some time.
To Kari B – Thanks heavens you are back posting. Every time there is nothing from you I, along with everyone else, worry about you and tell myself that you have “just gone for a treatment” and that you’ll be back in a day or two. Prayers have been answered. Many hugs and much love to you.
Abigail from Montreal
Hi Brenda: I ordered a Plushie too & mine still hasn’t arrived….in my case, I believe that I CAN BLAME CANADA POST, right? LOL
Marty R / Colorado
Brenda- thank you for your concern. My location fared better than others in the Denver metro area. I think our snowfall measured between 12 to 18 inches. In some places, they received four to five feet. I think it was mainly a front range through the eastern plains event. I’m not sure if Dawn would have been affected living in the western part of the state.

My son just called to say he’s joining his buddies downtown here in Montreal to watch the Pats face off against the Giants. Yup, even we Canucks are up for this one and did you know? All of the special effects in Madonna’s half-time show were done by a Canadian company! I just LOVE it when our North (CA) meets your South (USA)!!!! As you munch, crunch sip & guzzle, remember that your Canuck cousins are right there with you!!!!

Abigail, boy he’s just yummy, I’ll take him!
To all I’d just like to add my congratulations to our Packer Aaron Rodgers on winning the League MVP. He is a great guy who does a lot of charity work out of the media spotlight, so many don’t know all that he does. Truly a NICE guy!
Brenda S..Ontario, Canada
Sue, My daughter has been a very devoted Packers fan for many years and is now married to a Patriots fanatic. She is delighted about Aaron’s award and tonight is, for once, supporting the Patriots but only because the Giants beat HER Packers. Congratulations to Aaron as MVP, you cheeseheads must all be delighted.

Lexi
Zenyatta, you and my dog Sequoia, may she rest in peace, are both such an inspiration to me… You have shown me what it’s like to be strong and brave, and to keep on being you through the good times and the bad… You never let your one loss keep you from dancing. Sequoia fought her illness until the end. You show everyone kindness, love, and compassion… Just like Sequoia did for everyone. You are grace and beauty personified, and I’m in awe of you.
Sequoia is an angel doggie now… And I think she’s watching over us… Maybe she’ll help guide your foal to Earth the day the sky opens up to give you your gift from above. Sequoia was always a nurturing type, so I bet she’d love taking care of baby angel-horses until they’re ready to be born. I like to think that babies are in heaven before they’re born, and then we end up there after and we get to see everyone again.
You and your foal represent so much to me… Love… Hope for the future… Faith… To me, all animals are angels without the wings and halos. You give us love and safety, and you ask for so little in return. You give people happiness and inspiration, but all you ask for at the end of the day is a few carrots and a friend. People should learn from animals like you, how to be altruistic, how to appreciate the simple things in life, and that it’s the friends in your life that are important… Not money or anything like that.
I am so excited for you… I can’t wait until you get to meet your baby. Babies are truly a miracle, a gift… When I met my niece a year ago, I was so in awe, and I know you will be when you meet your baby. And I hope that each baby is happy and healthy, and lives the same long and happy life you will.
I was in a bad place this summer… I almost committed suicide. I cut my legs up because I needed to cope with being bullied so awfully… I’m only 17, and sometimes I don’t cope with things very well. But I’ve learned a lot from furry people. Sequoia spoke to me, and you continue to do so… You have so many lessons to teach about life, and I hope more people can listen.
Keep dancing… And I hope Baby Z can too… I will always love you, and I will always admire and be amazed by you… And one day, if I am very, very lucky, I might get to meet you. That would be a dream come true.
I hope your foal is ready to join us in the world… they will enter surrounded by people who love them, like every being should… And I can’t wait to hear about it.
By the way, every baby, human or no, needs a few bedtime stories to be read to them… The Missing Piece by Shell Silverstein, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, and Goodnight Moon were some of my favorites… Maybe we can find someone to read your foal some stories every night when it goes to sleep. Or maybe you can sing to him or her, with your horsey voice.
I hope you have an amazing day, Mrs. Z Queen. Rest and play, and cherish every day, because each one is a gift, just like your baby.
Lots of love,
Alexandra Wolfson
Marshall (in NC)
Lexi,
I am so sorry that you had to endure bullying. I honestly do not understand why some humans need to torture others. We all could learn, as you have, from our beloved four-footed cousins. I am sure Sequoia is watching over you and that you have good friends here with Zenyatta and the Z’sters.
Take good care of yourself. Remember that you are special, and we are here for you.
Love and Hugs!
Barbara Wood (Texas)
@Lexi–I hope you never go to that bad frame of mind again. Your Z-family is here for you to support you and to care. We have found a WONDERFUL meeting place! It huts so much to lose a beloved dog. After we lost our Golden, it took me 10 years to be able to love another dog.
I finally came up with a redneck joke–ta-da!–you might be a redneck if your wind chimes is made from beer cans. Actually, I cheated. I saw that on the travel channel.
Lexi
@Barbara I don’t think I’ll be in that bad frame again. I haven’t cut for four months, which I am very proud of. I know how to cope now, and I have so many great people, including you guys, who I can count on. You guys are all amazing. :)
Barbara Wood (Texas)
One day you’ll look back and see that you are amazing too! Hugs.
Abigail from Montreal
Lexi: There are no words to describe bullies that I can write on this page! You know what I mean, though. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO MAKE YOU FEEL SO BAD THAT YOU WANT TO DIE. NEVER give anyone that kind of POWER, beautiful girl. NEVER!

Dear Zenyatta and all Z’sters. I just saw this (forgive me if already posted). Bill Dwyre’s article in LA TIMES about I’ll Have Another’s Win. Toward the end, he has a very nice mention of your MIKEY, your JOHN and your buddy, MR. COMMONS.
