Good Morning Dear Friends,
It has been a very busy weekend on so many levels. I hope you enjoyed yours. TASTY and I had a very restful and happy time. We are BOTH doing very well and our pregnancies are advancing beautifully. Several of you have recently asked about TASTY in your responses, so I wanted to be sure and update you on her this morning. ALL IS WELL!
I’d also like to THANK YOU for the wonderful birthday messages sent to Mrs. Chenery. I’ve heard she really enjoyed your gracious comments and warm greetings. She asked that I send you her regards.
The weekend of racing proved to be very exciting. The 3 year olds are really starting to stretch their legs with the hope of moving forward to the Kentucky Oaks or Derby. Congratulations to ALL of the winners over the weekend. The Sunshine Millions races were revamped this year, but it seemed to work out well for everyone. I hope all of your handicapping selections ran well!
The next few days, MY JOHN and Dottie will be in Ocala visiting the ‘BABIES’ at the training centers. They will be going to Mayberry Farm and Harris Training Center to see how the “2 YEAR olds are progressing” in their skills and physical development. These horses have now been in Florida to learn their initial lessons since late September / October. Even though Dottie and MY JOHN get constant updates from Jeanne, April, Robbie, and David, this is the time of the year they go to see the horses themselves and touch base in person with all that is going on with each horse individually.
I’m sending a SPECIAL HIGH HOOF to my pals at Mayberry Farm. That is where I learned all of my first lessons before going to California and BARN 55.
To MY JOHN and Dottie…have a productive and FUN time in Ocala. I’ll touch base with you later in the week when you return. I know MY JOHN will have his camera in hand and take lots of PHOTOS to share with US upon their return. You know curious ME, I always want to keep up with everything!
With Love,
Hugs to All~ (Congratulations to BLACK CAVIAR on #17 last Friday!)

Can’t wait to see John’s pictures! So glad to hear you and Tasty are doing well. Love you, Z!

Someone kindly sent me the link and as you can see it’s on youtube. Think she went into foaling barn today Feb. 1st, not tomorrow. Video was made on Jan. 31st I think and she says Zenyatta was coming tomorrow which would be Feb. 1st.

Good Morning ZENNY! I hope you like your new room at the “Momma Inn”, and that you’re near your best girlfriend, Tasty. I know that Lanes End is taking such very special care of both of you. We’re a bunch of pacing Aunties and Uncles out here awaiting Baby Z’s arrival!
Love the posts, everyone! What a wonderful and inspiring group you all are. Am just catching up, but it’s all so inspiring!
Prayers for YOUR John and Dottie, Zenny, that they’re having a great week.

Zenny, it seems as if the old groundhog saw his shadow this AM so 6 more weeks of winter. I sure hope yours is a mild one and you and fabulous Ms. TT enjoy every day.

Good morning, Z! Well, Phil definitely did NOT see his shadow here this morning. I have roses blooming, and it smelled like spring yesterday. Great for January, but not a good omen for our dreadful summers.
Wow– nearly 700 responses. That’s ok. Dottie needs a vacation, albeit a working one. We’ll entertain ourselves until she gets back and learns what Z. has for us. About the only theing LE doesn’t provide seems to be keyboards for the horses to type their journals on.

Good morning Barbara. Did you see any strange lights in the sky last night? I got just a glimpse of something on the news, but did not get anything more than strange lights over Texas last night. Since we still have the weekend to through I bet we get to 1000 posts before Dottie/Zenyatta are back, and you know what they say about “distance makes the heart grow fonder”. This is going to be and is, one long week. I hope you have a great day. I really enjoy your posts.

Good morning, Darlene. Thank you so much. No, didn’t see anything last night. Too busy watching/listening to 2 basketball games. Our Bears beat A&M by 2 on tv, and our Lady Bears beat Missouri by 30 on radio.
It is VERY foggy here today. Reminds me of London. Hugs.

I’m interested in foaling right now, don’t know why :) I came across this article, and really like the idea of out-door births. Other articles on the matter mentioned foaling ina stall can have its dangers, such as too close to a wall etc. Even in the paddock, if the mare is too close to the fence or any of its posts, she is made to move before foaling. It’s really sthg now, very exciting time. All the best to Zee & Tee.

Happy Friday Z!! I saw a picture of you through a link that was provided here; you are living up to one of your nicknames, Big Mama!! Are you wondering why some one is always “watching” you? You don’t have to be carrying a foal for me to want to watch you!! I love you just the way you are. God Bless you and your foal as well as any other mare who will be having their baby too.
love you, 2 kisses on your soft nose, one for baby z Auntie Sally

To those that provided the links to Lane’s End and foaling and at Claiborne, thank you. That is a lot of responsibility they have, but the job has to be so heart warming rewarding. I would love to be present for the birth of a foul.
@all On the Fox news yesterday they spoke of the bill Obama passed to allow the states legal slaughter of horses. One point was made that otherwise it can cost up to $600 to euthanize a horse to an owner. In my opinion, BOO HOO to that!!! The horse served their purpose to the owner, they should give that horse the dignity of a gentle euthanization when it is the horses time. Any one else see it on the news?
