Dear friends,

Thank you so much for ALL of your fabulous wishes and comments about ME and my Baby Bump! I do feel wonderful and your kind words are greatly appreciated.

It was so meaningful yesterday afternoon to read Laura Sanchez’ Face Book post stating “everyone should feel that their bodies are beautiful and that they have purpose and strength!” Speaking for myself, I agree! I do feel I have a very positive self-concept. I believe this stems not only from my own personal feelings, but from the people around ME each day and the manner in which they lovingly care and interact with ME.

In life, it seems like certain sayings last the test of time for a reason…they prove to hold great meaning and truth. Based upon my life’s experiences and the people I have been blessed to be around, 2 sayings are particularly special:

1) “IT IS NOT WHAT YOU SAY, BUT HOW YOU SAY IT THAT IS IMPORTANT”

and

2) “ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.”

In my life I have been SO FORTUNATE to live and work in very positive and nurturing environments: Winter Quarter Farm, Mayberry Training Center, Barn 55, and now at Lane’s End. The people I have been able to work with have always been there for ME. They were never negative…but always very encouraging, constructive in thought, and caring. Their actions and words were positive and supportive. I know the goal was always the same no matter what the job or task at hand…to help ME achieve SUCCESS!

I will ADORE and APPRECIATE all of these people forever!

In reading so many of your comments in the Diary postings, these sayings appear to take on a special meaning for many of you as well. YOU ARE ALL SO SUPPORTIVE, POSITIVE, CARING, AND GENUINELY ENDEARING IN YOUR RESPONSES. Additionally, it seems like so many of you are bonding, making friendships, and exchanging ideas involving so many other concepts with each other. A number of you are even trying to get together so you can meet! This is all TOO CUTE and truly very special!

I sincerely hope in some way I have played a very positive role in encouraging these friendships to develop!

    Well, I guess I’m telling my age here but I have to quote the Beatles, “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make”. Z, you deserve to take so much love since you have given so much. It’s a life lesson that can’t be repeated too much.

        I’ll be at Gulfstream to see the undefeated Awesome Feather run in the Sunshine Millions. There is a wonderful Breakfast at Gulfstream each Saturday. This Saturday Kent Desormeaux and John Velasquez will be speaking. I went once to the breakfast and tour of backside last year and it was awesome.

        Sue, I’m in Tampa and just read that Animal Kingdom is headed towards the Tampa Bay Stakes on Feb 25th. Am trying my hardest to be there, let me know if you can make it too.

    I love those sayings you like. There’s another by supposedly by Albert Einstein that goes something like….
    ‘There are two ways to live. One as if nothing is a miracle; the other, as if everything is.”
    I find this profoundly deep and personally, I’m somewhere in the middle of the ‘two ways’. The surprise might be that I find it a very comfortable place to be!

    Dear sweet Z and wonderful team – there is another saying that really applies in the same way – “People will not remember what you said, but how you made them feel”. You all make us feel special and consequently, that same goes back to you all. Thank you for the brightness and love you bring into our lives – we will always remember how you made us feel.     Dear Loveable Z (and Dottie too) YOU are the reason for all the “good” that exists on this post!! Without you none of this would have happened. I have learned, laughed & care for with those on this post. YOU are such a blessing and I admire all those that take such great care of you. IF ANY ONE OF THEM should need a break–JUST CALL ME and I’ll be there!!! Since I’ve met you Zenyatta one of my favorite sayings I found and applys to you: “LIFE IS NOT MEASURED BY THE BREATHS WE TAKE–BUT BY THE MOMENTS THAT TAKE OUR BREATH AWAY”.     I must say you sent us a very inspirational message today, Big Girl. But I do think you’re guilty of a little too much modesty, sweetie. After all, it’s our LOVE for YOU and TEAM Z (California & Lane’s End branches, as well as Winter Quarter Farm & the Mayberry Training Centre) that brought us TOGETHER.

    Speaking for myself, I have become part of ZENYATTA’S EXTENDED FAMILY and look forward to hearing from all my “chosen” brothers & sisters each and every day. I love the poems, the Redneck jokes, the chit chat, the interesting links, the shared smiles & tears, the plans, the “action plans,” the memories….I LOVE IT ALL! It’s such a WARM & COMFORTABLE SPACE to be here with you, Zenny, and YOUR DOTTIE, and my ZEN-STER SIBLINGS!

    It’s just so magical to watch how we all contribute to making this family vibrant, funny, caring and loving. We have the best of both worlds: life in the “eternal present,” as well as a family narrative that we have weaved together.

    REQUEST: Dottie, when you have a minute, could you put John’s “Zenyatta Working” up here? It’s a favourite of so many Zenyatta fans and it would be GREAT to honour it here on Zenny’s “virtual” home. Thank you!

    What a lovely bump! I agree with many, it does look lower…BUT I have faith that all will be well.

    Can’t wait to go to the Great Race Place. Counting the days now. I am finishing my posters, one for my Kentuck Derby favorite, and many many for the BC.

    Zenny – without you and Dottie, it wouldn’t have been possible to make friendships with other fans across the county and the world. We have learned a lot from you as well as from each other. That’s what makes you so special – people from diverse backgrounds and opinions can come together. You’ve shown that love has no bounds.     You are so right Big Girl, because of you I have met some folks in person here in AZ, that are Z fans just like me. Thank you for getting like minded folks together to have fun and share ideas. The ladies I met at Turf Paridise were in the process of saving ANOTHER race horse from a tragic fate. You go Diane S, my hat is off to you and your girls! See you again at TP on 2/18/12!

      I love Turf Paradise. Coady Photography does a great job there as it does at all the other tracks it covers. I was there last November for the Jack Coady Sr. Stakes at Turf. Had a great time.

    Loved the link on the last post about “Smarty”–I actually signed up to follow the story. I love to see people’s dreams come true! I loved my OTTB ,Lucky,so very much. Of course,his real name was Regaro,but the girl who owned him when I met him had named him Lucky and he seemed to like it so I kept it.Reading yesterday about a reference to Green Monkey reminded me that one of Lucky’s ancestors was Green Alligator!

    Dear Zenyatta. My sweet Zenny, know that not only have you played a very positive role, it is our love of you that has brought us all together. I count you, Dottie, wonderful Team Z, the amazing Lane’s End crew and the truly remarkable individuals who make up this fantastic diary site among some of the greatest blessings in my life!!! What started out as admiration for one of the most talented and beloved racehorses in history has become so much more! Each day we love you more!! The magic of this experience is truly unique and once in a lifetime! How lucky are we!!! We share an appreciation for the beautiful thoroughbred and horseracing. Some are new to the sport and some have a lifetime of memoriable experiences. Here, we share our stories, ideas, knowledge, talents, interests, hopes, dreams, laughter and love. Birthdays, anniversarys and personal joys are celebrated. The care and support expressed is genuine and heartfelt. Voices are raised in pray, candles of gratitude are lit and spirits rejoice. Together we often make a difference to organizations or individuals in need. Although most of us have never meant face to face, we have become a family of friends and look forward to the possibility of enjoying a day at the races together, a cup of tea or a ride on a merry-go-round. Some sweeties have become particularly dear to me and I count them as priceless gifts!! We wear our Dumpling tags with pride and look forward to attending the next Zenyatta Celebration at BC 2012!!     Yes Zenny, you certainly have played a vital role as this is the place we all can share our undying love for you! We share what we have in common, and sometimes our differences, but it is always in a civil manner. We have banded together to support each other in good times and thru life’s challenges, and that is all because of you!!         I appreciate all of the comments made about the humor. Hams love to perform before an audience. But, what are all of those long hooks everybody has?

        • Terry, I will be eternally grateful for you making us aware of what should become a national holiday( although if all those millions of people flushed at the same time one has to wonder what kind of catastrophe would occur) nevertheless this will become one of my favorites, I guess it was coincidence in my past that I unknowingly took part flushing at precisely the correct time. Flush is the word!!

        • Actually, if one lives in a dorm or apartment with a shared water system, everyone flushing at once is a bad idea. Back when I was in college, somebody arranged a dorm prank. While their target was in the shower, the perpetrators arranged for a large number of co-conspirators to flush at once. The mass flush used all the cold water, leaving only hot in the shower. Their victim was scalded and had to be hospitalized.

      As a faithful member of the redneck club, I will respect the holiday celebrations tomorrow, even though my feelings about the solemnity of the occasion have been changed yesterday, by the fact that I learned tomorrow Jan. 27 is Penny Chenery’s 90th birthday! So I guess I have to split my sentiments and attentions, giving due where due is due.

      Also, for “which leaf is best” I think it’s safe to say it’s not a leaf from poison ivy, oak, and/or sumac.

        I have taken the concerns expressed by some into consideration. However, I believe that, due to the fact that a lot of us live in different time zones, the flushes will not be at the same actual time and will not cause any appreciable damage. I wonder if Flushing, NY has any special plans?

      Tomorrow is my husband’s birthday, but I will do my utmost to get to a crapper, oops bathroom, somewhere at noon. But, noon where?

    Zenyatta, I thought I had come to terms with never having any children, but always felt something was missing in my life. But, at age 42, the Lord blessed me with one special little baby on December 7, 2011, and now that I have had Zev Ashton Anderson, I feel the emptiness in my life is complete. I am proud to be a momma Zenyatta, and I am so proud that you will be one too!!! I so cannot wait to see your beautiful sweet baby!!!
