Hello Everyone,

At times, I would imagine we all do this, individuals mentally review the different things going on in their lives. A moment of quiet reflection can be such a positive thing. I usually do this type of ‘thinking’ when I am out walking quietly in my paddock…enjoying the environment, nature, and all of the beauty and peace surrounding ME.

This morning, while I was out grazing and snacking in my paddock, I admittedly came to the conclusion that I have put on a ‘bit of weight’ lately! Not too much….the proper amount…but my body has definitely changed!

While I was contemplating this thought, and of course APPRECIATING the fact that I am currently eating for TWO, I did conclude that I look rather fabulous for a mare at this stage of her pregnancy. My coat is great…my dapples are glowing…and my muscles are still quite ‘toned up’. Having been a professional athlete for so many years, these qualities are extremely important to ME!

Thus, upon reflection, I must say that I have put on the necessary ‘baby weight’, however, I did want to give myself a HIGH HOOF for taking such great care of myself and my body! Without a doubt, I could not do all of this without the loving assistance from my pals here at Lane’s End. They, too, work hard to be sure I am always doing everything right!

At this very moment, while I was deep in thought on all of this, Sarah happened to be driving by my paddock going from one part of the farm to the main office. When she saw ME standing so close to the fence…she jumped out of her car and took this photo. We thought it would be special to share with ALL OF YOU this morning!

YES, HAPPILY…IT’S ME…BABY BUMP and ALL!

Sweetly, Sarah stayed around for a bit. We visited, we played, and we caught up on everything going on in our ‘horse world’. It has definitely been a ‘FUN and FEEL GOOD’ morning!

    Hay Z if you have a moment think good thoughts for Laura Leigh. She has her Humane Case going before Judge McKibben tomorrow. And on Fri the State of Nevada is once again looking into shutting the water off to all the wild horses and burros.

    It’s going to be an intense two days. I’m off to put myself together…

    Drs took cast off jockey Garrett Gomez’s broken left heel this am (plate/screws remain to stabilize), gave him ok to start therapy tomorrow
    Claire also said:

    Zenny you look great – you are going to be a great mom. Thank you Sarah for the pictures. I can’t wait until the baby is born. I am anxiously counting down the days…..this is so very exciting. I can’t wait to experience foal watch with everyone!!!

    Remember Holy Bull. Hard to believe he was 21 yesterday
    There is a Z connection–Mike Smith rode him in every race except his first one.
    Holy Bull was 1994 Horse of the Year & is in the Hall of Fame.

    Boy, that round belly of yours is sooo cute. I wonder if you are a bit uncomfortable at this stage. Thank you Lane’s End for the excellent care you provide to Z and all of your other residents. I am a pretty laid back person, but Geez, this waiting is killing me.. ;) You and Tasty stay safe and get some rest..xoxo

    Zenyatta You don’t take a bad picture. When I look at you I see the Beauty that God created. Now there will be another part of you on this earth. That is going to be such a blessing. Thank you sweet Sarah for Always taking these AWESOME pictures of our Queen. Like I have said many times We are lucky to be in the world of Zenyatta.

    Dear Zenyatta. Good morning, sweetheart! Hearing from you and seeing a picture of you is always a fantastic way to start my day!!! You are absolutely beautiful!! I love that you were enjoying some quiet reflection at the start of the day, that is something that we all can benefit from. Thinking about all those things that are right in our lives as we great the dawn and giving thanks for our blessings. I love your “Baby Bump” it is TOO CUTE!!! It is wonderful that everyone is taking such good care of you. Please thank sweet Sarah for the special pictures. It sounds like the two of you had alot of fun together. I wanted to let you know too Zenny, that I received the poster with the portrait that Jamie Corum did of Rapid Redux in honor of his Vox Populi award from Champions, the Santa Anita Gift Shop yesterday. I have several of her pieces and I love every one of them. She does such amazing work. It was great and to my surprise it had been signed by Penny Chenery, Robert Cole (Owner) and David Wells (Trainer), that was wonderful! I thought you probably had to be at the event in person to get a signed piece. It also came with a free 2012 Santa Anita calendar that had some amazing racing shots. Of course my favorite pictures were of you!!! There is a picture of you in your paddock at Lane’s End on the cover, as well as on the month of March, how fitting with your due date so near!         I live in Northern Colorado, I’ve always loved horse racing, but mostly watched the Triple Crown races. I’ve started to “study” racing and I’m a novice racing enthusiast.

        Hi, Jan!!!! Always so wonderful to see all of us racing and thoroughbred lovers from Colorado. I live on the Western Slope in Cedaredge, CO which is at the base of Grand Mesa; just outside of Delta and about 45 minutes from Grand Junction.

      That is a gorgeous picture of Rapid Redux; I have not ordered one yet
      but will today. Thanks for sharing. I wish they would have brought to
      Santa Anita when they were give the award. I am sure everyone would
      have loved to see him. Guess in the claiming world, money is a lot tighter.
      Heard he does bite some and kicks when her gets his racing gear on.

I just picked up my DANCING QUEEN poster from the framing shop yesterday.I have been using the same man for years, he does such great work !! He matched the frame to her coloring and her dapples,it is absolutely beautiful!!!!!

        Hi, Cheryl. You can go to the Santa Anita site on the web and click on the gift shop. Or, you can go to Champions at Santa Anita on the web and it will take you directly to the gift shop. The portrait is 11 by 14, signed, with an image of Secretariat at the bottom and indicating 2011 winner of the Vox Populi award. The price was $40.00. The owner of the framing shop I utilize and I picked out a frame for my Dancing Queen similar to what you describe. The deep color of the wood matches Zenyatta’s coat color beautifully and the wood feels satan soft, which is what I am sure Zenny’s coat must feel like. I love it!

    You look fabulous, Zenny! Sure wish we could see more videos of you and Tasty. Love the photos and appreciate them very much, but nothing beats seeing you move around and show off your baby bump! I enjoy hanging out at the WinStar Stablemates site and watching the mares with their foals….can’t wait to see you and your little one along with Tasty’s foal romping around in the “nursery”!!     All – With the wonderful pictures of Rachel’s foal, I thought you might enjoy looking at some other famous race horses as foals. Of course Rachel is included and I found it amazing how much her foal resembles Rachel herself. There is also a picture of Curlin, Secretariat, Kelso, Rags to Riches and many others. JAG there is picture of your John Henry and Shari, Uncle Mo is here too!

    Queen Z, my fun thing for the day is going out to work your distant cousin Hemby Three which i own. He is an OTTB and my new Hunter/Dressage horse!! I love him dearly!!! He is a great boy!!! Hope you have a wonderful day and can’t wait to see your foal in a few weeks!! Counting down the time!! I think my 11 yr old daughter is as excited as i am if not more!!!!

    Beautiful as always, Zenny! I’m glad Sarah caught this moment! Was wondering if,like most mothers-to-be, have an idea of what your foal will be, colt or filly. In the grand sceme of things, as long as the foal is healthy,that’s all that matters, but was wondering if you have that almost psychic bond with your baby. It doesn’t matter to me which it is, but have to admit I’m rooting for a big ol’ filly to step into her momma’s hoof prints and set the world of racing on its’ ear!
